  1. Kunlun San Diego and assorted musings

She's deliberately trying to make us all fall in love with her. Its working.
  2. Taoist Master Wang Liping

Hi Vortex, Ive tried many methods to find the most painfree travel. Avoid train if possible, its slow, infrequent and grimy. Looks like Jinhua is less than 1 hour from Yiwu, perhaps 3-4 hours from Shanghai depending on the kind of bus route and speed. Yiwu is a major trading and business center so it has more options. I would do fly into shanghai, take airport bus to train station, take hotel near train station for a night (15-20$ options if you walk out and turn left), find where the buses are leaving to Yiwu (the ticket counter is somewhere along there), and once in Yiwu take a taxi to your Jinhua exact destination, that touristy mountain place. (headache avoided) which would probably be around $10. Direct bus or train from Shanghai to Jinhua likely leaves from a southern station, not rocket science either, but Ive never done that route, and it may include transfer in Hangzhou, and less frequent links. Many options, not a big deal either way if you are positve and patient. Use young bystanders as interpreters.
  3. Just wondering if any of you deal with this, various kinds of "magic words", from any of the ancient cultures. And could you suggest any references.
  4. spells/magic words for healing?

Does anyone have something in this genre of magic, http://www.metacafe.com/watch/490390/sumer...eeds_from_food/ Basically words or symbols one traces and then sends with intent into the recipient. It can be any language. I'm into testing and finding to see the effectiveness.
  5. up coming event

The best and cheapest way to that place is to first fly to Shanghai (obvious), then take a bus to Yiwu city from near Shanghai central train station, and takes about 2 hours and leave every 30 min, and then take get another bus from Yiwu to Jinhua. Or a direct bus to Jinhua from Shanghai. I know this area fairly well. (Bleh.) Going through Hangzhou is more headache than Shanghai, plus Shanghai is fun! The way I would do it is to fly to Hong Kong, get a China visa, which in Hong Kong is fast and simple. Then I'd get a flight to Hangzhou or Shanghai, and bus it from there. Shanghai flights tend to be cheap, especially MU China Southern Airline.
  6. Martial vs Non Martial

I think martial arts can easily take you down the wrong road. While studying Bagua, I noticed that I was one of the few who took spirituality and meditation seriously. The rest kinda gave it lip service, but really wanted to know how to beat the crap out of anyone anytime.
  7. US Courts Can Block Mad Cow Testing of Meat

Another reason to become a vegetarian.
  8. Wang Liping in Denmark

I dont think people are quick to bash. There has been diligence done to verify the claims made by Veredesi. If he is found to be a liar, a fraud, then he should answer with his explainations or counter claims, and if he cannot then he has no business teaching the Tao. Many many people get off the path due to false gurus, and they later believe the path is not true, and the Tao is fantasy. The world doenst need another liar. Nevertheless, I believe in give the benefit of the doubt to anyone who is accused in such an informal way as in a forum.
  9. Can anyone give some ideas? My cultivation stuff likely has been stressing my heart, and I've just now become concerned.
  10. Gee, kind of a mystery.
  11. Heart strengthening strategies.

Thanks for all your replies. I'm trying them out. As for the questions, the heart worry is likely transformation related, not specific meditation related.
  12. wtf kunlun god dmnit asjgsjhgfv

When the materialism and ego-centrism of the world gets me down, I often pick out just any easy reading book on Buddhism from a bookstore, or nowadays watch youtube videos of articulate western buddhist teachers. For example, this : Also, if you have many hours, this is a good series, "Kabbalah Revealed" on google video. I've watched the series several times. Soul Candy.
  13. Can you please explain how is the gravity, yin chi level, geographical location, relevent to simple meditators like me.
  14. freemasonry

Name one "powerful" cultivation method of these people.
  15. Tracing back Lineages

A long lineage is certainly not the weirdest thing people will tell you in cultivation, not by a long shot. Why shouldnt people have been able to keep track of time? Or the lineage ascended grand master could have communicated it. Why doubt what you cannot prove or disprove?
  16. Little miracles around us

Whoa. Made tears come from my eyes. The song she chose to sing was no accident, that was her message.
  17. How can I increase my Testosterone?

zinc supplements works wonders. excercise like weight lifting or running, your body will start to produce more "t"
  18. Is it real? National Geographic

National G has got it ass-backwards. There is no proper agreed on definition of hypnosis, and the world's foremost hypnotists dont know why hypnosis works. It just does. So to claim something is hypnosis is making a jump into presupposition quicksand. Just because hypnosis has been accepted somewhat more as a "real thing" somehow makes it a concept we can use? No. The reason I got into Taoism and qi last year was I was following a causation route from hypnosis TO qi, that is to say, qi is the basis or participant to many hypnotic effects. If they want to disprove qi, then I'd better stay away from them or I may disappear.
  19. What makes you a true Taoist?

I tell people "Im into Taoist stuff", meaning spiritual cultivation. I'd prefer to say cultivation, but not many people can grasp that in a hurry, and Taoist has less organized religion baggage connotations than Buddhism, though I could say I'm more into Buddhist methods and philosphy than Taoist.
  20. How to manipulate or control chi?

How to manipulate qi is a good question to put to the universe.
  21. Free Meditation Download

Yeah, I did. Thanks. Although it reminded me of a progressive body relaxation induction I could use in hypnosis. Question for Santiago: Does qi transmit in a recording?
  22. What are your delusions?

I just woke up in the night, worrying. So its a good time to express this. So, FEAR. Fear of falling down this rabbit hole, and fear of not falling down far enough. Of risks, or not taking risks. Of teachers and guide, and of no teachers or guides. Of a path too fast, of too slow.
  23. does anyone hear voices in their head?

Voices and sounds when Im meditating and have reached that pre-dream edge, often I start hearing different voices, my concious mind fades. Its alot of jibberish for the most part, like some baker's voice saying "two bits for a pound" and that follows with some somehow related voice of something else "back the truck up." Eventually a visual image builds, and takes you into a dream, or, come back to a conscious state of meditation. Its a groovy place to be.
  24. Huo Yuan Jia

whoa, thats addictive stuff. I just watched one episode
  25. Question for people who've been to China

It might also mean Westerners only like to talk up the Tao, but only talk, not enter it. Or it might mean we like to talk about our own version of the ways of the world, as in we think our laws are correct.
