Have Tao, will Travel If you know what this is a take off from, then you must be pretty old. As a kid I watched Have Gun, Will Travel on TV but it was not until I was in graduate school that I learned that the actor, Richard Boone, during the episodes was quoting Schopenhauer philosophy at times before he would do his quick draw. Sort of a forerunner to the Kung Fu TV series that emerged about 15 years later reflecting the jump in consciousness from the 1950s to the 1970s, but still, the ever present theme of good versus evil. So well wishes for Sifu Terry's ventures to share the Tao...

Sifu Terry, You mentioned your seminar schedule for 2017. If this includes traveling to do workshops, would you mind posting on here where these seminars will be held so that if they are in our area, we would have the opportunity to join a workshop? Also, if you are scheduled to be on the East Coast, you might want to consider contacting Ruscombe Mansion in Baltimore to see if you could then swing down here for a workshop. Ruscombe Mansion is the energy cultivation center of Baltimore which has been in existence for at least 30 years giving workshops.

Sifu Terry, I have heard a rumor that in 2017 you will be releasing a dvd of the TTP 31. Any truth to this?

Below I give you Eric's test results for Fan Teng Gong: Short term you would see more results from Eternal Spring Qigong as it jump starts the Chi more rapidly and powerfully than does Fan Teng Gong. However, long term results would be much better from Fan Teng as it more fully purifies the meridians and prepares the body for the power of the Chi when it really gets moving later. Yes, it should work well from the DVD's if a bit slow at the start. After regular practice it clears the meridians of the body and gets the Chi moving all over to give more strength, power and spiritual growth. A good system. In spite of the favorable test results, I doubt I will order the DVDs since there are at least 4 levels to this, and they are only in German.

Many other qigong methods have now tested as being more beneficial for me than Flying Phoenix. As I posted, when I did level one of Fan Teng Gong I was aware of how similar the postures were to that of Grandmaster Doo Wai's 690 AD form. But the amount of Qi felt from doing 690 form was many, many times more than from FTG.

Thank you for posting about Emil's website as I know there are always people who want to learn new qigong methods in complete forms but they cannot afford the dvds or get them safely mailed to their countries in some cases. The form that he created himself would be worth having Eric test if I liked how it looks.
-
If you download Google Chrome as a browser, it will translate any page into your native language. So I did that for Emil's website and learned that Fan Teng Gong means Churning Qigong. It looks to me that it is for stimulating the Triple Burner/chakras. Emil considers it to be highest level qigong compared to the rankings of all the other 50 qigong dvds he offers. I emailed him asking which of his dvds/youtube videos can be learned like his Fan Teng Gong without needing verbal instructions for those who do not speak German. He has an amazing collection.
-
What does Fan Teng translate as in English? I just did level one and felt some Qi at times in the hands, nothing really strong. Grandmaster Doo Wai's 690AD as some similar postures as Fan Teng but adds the special breathing sequence which creates tremendous sensation of qi in the hands during the static postures. I did not feel anywhere near a strong level of qi doing Fan Teng Qong. That does not mean other people will not feel the qi strongly, just means that for me it does not compare in power to that of Doo Wai. But I loved how easy it was to perform and did not take that long. I will be interested in trying level 2 at some point since it is for the liver meridian.

Emil will reply to your email. The youtube videos of his that I have seen him perform are not qigong methods that he created. They are traditional methods that he has somehow learned and then he teaches. But as I said, most of the ones he teaches have not reached the USA and his dvds are not in English. Fan Teng Gong looks easy to learn by watching his youtube video. Worth a try to see what your experiences are.
-
I looked at the Fan Teng Qong videos and they have some similarity to Falun Dafa, but fortunately, you do not hold the static postures anywhere as long as you would with Falun Dafa. I can see how those static postures would create a lot of chi flow. What impresses me the most is that Emil from Germany is the guy demonstrating the form. I don't know how many qigong forms he has learned, but I have seen him on many videos, each with a different qigong method to demonstrate. Most of what he teaches is not available in the USA and is also not on any dvd in English. Maybe in several months from now when I have my next health session with Eric I will have him test Fan Teng Qong, but not now since I will be doing Eternal Spring Chi Kung and Rainbow Sun Qigong.

Speaking of ginger. Several weeks ago I discovered I suddenly am having high blood pressure which is not the norm for me. Once when I had it due to too many carbs in my diet, the recommended ayurvedic formula normalized my BP overnight. This time the same formula is ineffective. I began thinking what did I change around the time the BP was noticed and one of the supplements I added on my own was ginger. Today I am having Eric test my entire supply of supplements to see if anyone of them is the culprit. I suspect Eric will report that it is entirely due still to my diet causing toxic reaction and heart working harder to remove toxins.
-
Answering Frederic about ginger. A few years ago when I watched the video of GM Doo Wai extol the virtues of having a piece of ginger in your mouth as you do qigong, I then asked my medical intuitive to test that. He confirmed that having ginger in the mouth during qigong increases energy and is a good thing to do.

I paid for the first month of his new online course, Qigong 101, but I will not be continuing since Eric just tested that style against Rainbow Sun Qigong and C.K. Chu's Eternal Spring Qigong. Based on the test results I will be doing Rainbow Sun, and Eternal Spring Qigong forms and not Qigong 101. I tried Rainbow Sun Qigong last night for the first time and felt qi flow in my hands during each of the very simple movements. I think it is a very powerful and perfect form for beginners and senior citizens.

Someone not too long ago asked which youtube qigong video would I recommend that is a good qigong form and one could learn it for free. At the time of that question I had no clue how to answer. But I recently stumbled upon one on youtube by Ellie Drew of Arizona called Rainbow Sun Qigong. I had my medical clairvoyant test it today and it is powerful per his report. I tried it and immediately felt chi flow in my hands for all of the extremely easy to do postures. The entire video is posted on youtube. Ellie has trained at hospitals in China doing medical chi kung. On the video she is demonstrating along with her mother and grandmother!

I am not sure if I posted this before or not. I will be taking the new online Zen Flow Qigong course by Sifu Anthony Kohoraus. Probably spelled that wrong. His main teacher was Wong Kiew Kit who does Shaolin Qigong. In this new course he incorporates other things learned from other masters. I am taking this course primarily because of testimonials of those who have taken his other course and they state that after doing other qigong for 20 years, they feel more qi flow than they ever have because of Sifu Anthony. Sifu has told me that it is common for him to have people who have done qigong for several years without feeling qi flow in their body and he knows how to get them to sense the flow inside their bodies. He has made the course very affordable, so I thought I might as well see if he can create the qi flow in the body that I have yet to feel after having tried about 40 different qigong methods, including a popular one that I did for 8 years. As a side note having nothing to do with what I just wrote, if there is anyone who does not believe that Qi transmission can really be done by anyone, then I suggest you invest in just one session with this fellow in Seattle who offers private online sessions. When he was giving me Qi transmission via Skype session, I could hardly move my hands together because the Qi sensation between my hands was that strong. It was a great experience. I did not continue to work with him because his fee is very high. I cannot recall his name but he has youtube video of his qigong method and I cannot remember what that is called either but I do have the manual for that in my collection in case anyone is interested. I would consider that a potent system.

If not for family I am not sure I would surface very often from our basement meditation/qigong room, especially as we continue to decorate it. Family needs definitely cut down on qigong time. When I lived in a modern day ashram type setting, although it was never called that, it was not continuous meditation there either since daily living requires mundane chores, etc. That is why I continue to marvel at those of you who are reporting putting in 2-3 hours of Flying Phoenix Chi Kung in a day. But if I was more off than online, I probably could log in more chi kung time. The older I have become lately, the less self-disciplined I now am.

About 3 yrs ago Eric tested Wu Dang Hun Yuan Qigong for me. It did not test that well so I only tried it one time and moved on to something testing more beneficial for me.

No, the ones I mention have nothing to do with Matak Chia.

have not heard of Buddha Palm Healing unless that is from Sifu Garry Hearfield? The most powerful method that he sells is Vermillion Sparrow Returns to the Nest. I have it but so far can only learn the first few movements since I do not want to put the time it takes to use a mirror and put it on slow motion to learn these kung fu like movements. But it can be learned by me if I had more time. Eric said, Whoa, this is dynamite!

I was glad to read the report of the senior student who in Maui felt that he did not have a body. I have felt that when some of my meditations during TM were very deep. It is a common experience among TM meditators. So it might be quite an experience to do meditation and qigong in Maui to go into even deeper meditation and hence higher states of consciousness. My teacher at one point long ago was exploring having people meditate at the peak time for each individual based on their own biorhythm which is available online. I would think the same experiment could be done with qigong. Look at your biorhythm chart and do your favorite Flying Phoenix Qigong method at your peak time and see if becomes more special than usual. Then please report on this thread. It is at least cheaper than booking a flight to Maui.

Happy to report that I have just discovered another gem. A few years ago on YouTube I saw the Abbot of the Purple Cloud Temple of Wudang Mountain doing a less than 10 minute form called Yin and Yang Spiralling Qigong. Very slow and beautiful flowing movements, very basic. But for some reason there were a few things I could not figure out while trying to learn it so I gave up on it but always wanted to learn it. The video has one of my teachers, Simon Blow of Australia performing the form with the group. Since then I discovered that the Aussie, Dan Stefan, who posted that video also posted himself doing that same form but he renamed it, Purple Cloud Qigong. I was easily able to follow along with Dan demonstrating it. He created poetic names for the movements in order to memorize them. So I have added Purple Cloud Qigong to my morning routine. I just tried someone's new tai chi for beginners dvd and am sending it back for a refund since it takes over 50 minutes to do the routine and the pace is done at a faster rate which prevents me from feeling the chi flow in my hands compared to when I do Don Fiore's slow paced Easy Tai Chi for Beginners which I have "mastered" and am now moving onto his Tai Chi Kung which has more tai chi postures and is intermediate level. I like Don as a teacher because he gives verbal continuous verbal instructions so you are not left trying to figure out what to do next.

As for the universal stress resulting from the USA election. My teacher, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, taught us that whoever is the President of the U.S. is a reflection of the group consciousness of the nation at that time. This saddened me quite a bit as I considered that the behavior and values of Trump could be a reflection of many people in this country. That is what frightens me the most. He is our mirror. And the estimated minority of 2 percent of the population who regularly are on a spiritual path are far from being the norm. No wonder the world is burning in its greed as the late Jim Morrison used to sing. If anyone doubts that rampant greed exists, just go shopping. And when at the grocery store be sure to read the labels of each item you put in your cart. The only reason toxic chemicals are added to food, such as preservatives, is to cut down the waste which means only one thing in the world of business, to cut down on loss of profit. In this current dark age called Kali Yuga in the Vedic tradition, values are upside down. Gold is more revered than health. That means that money is more important than life itself. I apologize for the digression but I have tried to at least tie it to spirituality which is what chi kung is for me ultimately. So to keep afloat from the current darkness in the world and to keep my mind off the allegations that it is costing taxpayers one million dollars a day to pay for security whenever the Trump family is in New York, I will end this post and begin my morning practice of chi kung.

I have witnessed many people shaking as they did powerful energy methods such as the TM Siddhi program, and the Oneness Blessing movement deepening processes involving pranayama and chakra meditations. The explanations for the spontaneous shaking involved powerful release of stress/karma/negative energies caused by kundalini rising from the energy methods. Release of stress from the mind/body is what eventually leads to enlightenment. Someone recently reminded me that enlightenment is a method of subtraction, not addition. The natural state of the human nervous system produces enlightenment. It is only the stress of daily living and from our genetics which adds things to our nervous system which then must be eliminated, hence the term, release of stress or it has also been called purification of the nervous system. To understand these experiences is one of the benefits of having teachers while we are on the path. Otherwise, there is confusion and because of that, wonderful cleansing has taken place but this frightens some people so they have stopped doing their practice and then moved on to something else. I have known some people who had wonderful spiritual experiences when first learning to meditate but because they did not understand them, they were too frightened to continue with meditation. They were such sensitive types that they both immediately had the experience of their Consciousness being separate from the physical body and this freaked them out instead of rejoicing at how highly evolved they actually were to have such an experience at the beginning stage of meditating. Whichever way we release stress during our energy work, or chi kung, it means something good is happening. We end the session with less stress than we had at the beginning. But we also need to keep in mind that sometimes we can overdue our energy work and then too much stress is released at one time, and that can make the symptoms feel uncomfortable. But I seen people go into wild, spontaneous gyrations of body parts, arms flapping like birds, body doing yoga like contortions and they all wanted to be left alone during those situations. They were aware it was their kundalini moving things around, making adjustments. From the outside it looks very weird. When I used to do Jenny Lamb's Yi Gong, I would sometimes have involuntary shaking of the legs, arms and hands at the same time and I suppose it looked like I had Parkinson's Disease. But on the inside I felt like it was a garden hose that had been crimped in one spot and pressure built up and when it released the energy shot out. It was enjoyable and I always looked forward to it, knowing it was the chi becoming unblocked and then restored to flowing.

I had the same effect as you doing Cloud Hands from Tao Tan Pai. It enhanced my other qigong metods. I dropped it because of how long it takes to do 3 repetitions. I have John Milton's Tai Chi for Liberation and just watching and listening to him puts me in a meditation type state of consciousness. But I do not do the movements since Eric tested them for me about 4 years ago and asked me why I would want to do that method since it tested that I would get nothing out of it. I was disappointed as it is such a beautiful looking dvd with a great feeling to it and nice scenery. I had the Shengzen dvd and manual but did not want to put in the time and effort to learn all of those movements. I avoid qigong methods that seem complex and would take awhile for me to break down and learn. But I know a teacher of that method and he values it highly.

I like RidingtheOx's advice. When this thread starts sounding like sci-fi it may time to drop back to discussing the basics. On the other hand, the one major healing that I have had from doing chi kung happened literally overnight when I did spend close to 4 hours in one day doing one qigong method as instructed. So I think that is probably does take a lot of time spent doing the movements to get tangible healing.
