I have the Thousand Hands Buddha, watched it for awhile and thought they were too hard for me to learn. Absorbing the Essence I have been doing every morning for over a year now. I only do the Longevity Qigong from that and Eric tested it and found that doing 3 rounds of the brief Longevity Qigong form is ideal for me. Doing it more than 3 times would result in too much release of stress. I have seen Wu's previews and I would never consider getting any of his dvds for myself since the difficulty level is way beyond my ability. Vajra Fist has offered great advice.

I did Qinway for a brief time several years ago. The master for that system also sells Qi infused products and I bought 2 of her Qi infused statues which I put on my bookcase and as I was taking a nap the first night that I placed them there which was near my head, while sleeping I could feel these waves of energy hitting my head, the crown chakra. At a later time I asked my medical clairvoyant if those products and the tea I ordered from her were truly infused with Qi. He found that all of her products contained a "Divine Energy". Yes, I tried Awakening Light Gong and stopped doing it after about 2 weeks since I felt nothing from what is claimed to be even beyond qigong. Eric tested it and found that it is appropriately named because it effects the upper spiritual chakras.

I think it was Garry Hearfield one or two years ago who told me I did not need Golden Phoenix Qigong if I was already doing Sunn Yee Gung or Flying Phoenix Chi Kung. He said that his qigong methods are for the specific kung fu systems that he teaches. Each kung fu method has a corresponding qigong method.

What is golden is the gift that Eric has which allows us to become aware of which method might be better suited for us on an individual basis. Tonight I had a super helpful reading with him for a sudden health issue that my medical doctor had no clue about. Sudden high blood pressure and even more frequent urination than usual. From working with Eric in the past I had a sense that he would trace the symptoms to the result of a recent change in diet for the worse. And that was it. But it was amazing how he tied the symptoms from the processed food creating toxins in the lymphatic system to this aggravating vata condition which pushed down to the prostate and liver being inflamed and the toxins reaching the heart thru the bloodstream as the heart was working to rid itself of the toxins from the lymph system and this creates the high blood pressure. There was more to it that he saw but this will suffice as an overview of his gift. He also confirmed that the protein powder that I recently switched to, although one of the best on the market, cannot be digested well by my system so it too contributes to the toxins as undigested food always will. His testing then confirmed that my previous brand protein powder which I need as a vegetarian was the right one for me. He also saw that the herbal formula I recently began taking for my weak liver is actually so powerful that it is cleansing the toxins from the lymphatic system doing so in such a strong manner that it contributes to the increase in urination. So he recommended a different formula for the liver which will have milder effects and not increase urination. Now what MD is going to come up with all of that? I knew I was not in the right hands when earlier this week my MD thought my sudden rise in blood pressure might be due to stress. He never asked me if I was doing anything different in any area of my life. Meaning he did not ask about eating habits.

I did Celestial Qigong for only a brief time, not even long enough to learn it because after I bought the dvd, other qigong systems tested as being more beneficial for me. As for Pangu, as I stated elsewhere before, I had an amazing healing of a stubborn and strong respiratory virus from that method but I stopped doing Pangu because it was so boring. I did the moving and the advanced non-moving level. . And Éclair, the most spiritual qigong that I have heard of might be Awakening Light Gong. Very hard to find a teacher for that outside of Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington, and recently Rockville, MD. I know of only one teacher of that method willing to teach it via Skype. It is the easiest qigong method that I have ever learned.

Earl Grey, I am glad to learn that I am not the only Dao bum up past midnight doing chi kung. I keep hoping to get an earlier start but family life gets in the way.

Adam, a very good question indeed as I have always wondered how to fit in Flying Phoenix during the limited amount of time I have left for qigong during the day. Especially since some of the single meditations can take 15 minutes each to perform.

I don't know if this applies to chi kung or just meditation, but I think both. During deep mediation there is a valuable substance produced called ojas, according to Ayurveda. This substance reaches the surface of the skin and therefore it is advised not to shower soon after mediation. I would think that ojas would also be produced during chi kung. I have seen many chi kung instructors advise not to shower directly after chi kung, give it some time.

Another topic. I have read that meditation was considered important by GM Doo Wai in his classes. But I think most meditation methods result in alpha wave level relaxation which has some benefits but this is really not a deep type of meditation. This morning I once again was reading verse 16 of the Tao Te Ching, translation by Jonathan Star. Verse 16 describes perfectly what is experienced during very deep mediation that transcends thoughts effortlessly. When this happens stress is released from the nervous system and then more thoughts come and this keeps repeating during the meditation. This is purification of the nervous system which eventually is supposed to result in reaching the goal - enlightenment. It is interesting that what goes on during this deepest type of meditation is also the same dynamics of Creation. It all begins with Stillness. The vacuum state of quantum physics. Tao Te Ching, quite a roadmap for those on the Path.

The above discussion about what is really potent seems to me to be vital. Know one who does qigong wants to end up spinning his wheels only to eventually discover not much has been happening from his practice. The question for me has always been not which method is the potent, but which qigong method would benefit me the most? And how does one find that out? Do any of us really know which organs or systems in our mind/body need exactly how much qi to be more efficient? On my own, that would be impossible for me to know? Are we to base our search on how much qi we feel from a particular method? There are those people who have gifts of being super sensitive when it comes to detecting energy and blocked energy and reading the entire mind/body condition. Those are the people I defer to when it comes to asking what I need and which qigong method that I know of will do the healing for whatever energy imbalance there is at the time. One such gifted person with energy is Donna Eden, there are others. I would never presume to be able to answer on my own what is the most potent qigong method for me? I just don't think that can be answered by the linear mind when the work and the healing originates at the quantum level of life. So I find it best for me to ignore the ego in order to open up to information from a higher source. That is just one way to go about it.

I have some Grand Master Doo Wai dvds, and as I have stated previously on this thread, almost all of them are impossible to learn, at least for me, on my own. So it seems that Sifu Terry is offering an invaluable service by his willingness to teach them privately if you are able to do this.

You guys who are doing the WHM are the Ironmen of the world of qigong. If I wore a cap I would certainly tip it to you guys. And it would be a Chicago Cubs cap for sure.

A deity imparts the method of Flying Phoenix Chi Kung to a monk, history or legend? No one really can answer that. But I do know that this sort of thing is possible because I know someone very well who was being trained on a special course years ago to reach higher states of consciousness. And during this course a deity who is well known who was on this planet long ago appeared to this person and taught him a method that has resulted in many people all over the world receiving help for health problems. The deity is associated with a religion that is not the same religion as the person who was given this method. But at no time did this person consider this healing method to be part of any religion. Gregor Mendel, the father of genetics, was a Catholic priest. But none of us consider the science of genetics to have anything to do with religion. So if a Buddhist deity imparts an energy healing method to a Taoist monk, it is not necessarily associated with either religion, unless one wants to believe that it is. Our beliefs can free us, but they can also imprison the mind. I practiced yoga asanas for over 30 years but at no time did I think it was part of the Hindu religion because yoga comes from India and most of India is Hindu. However, I have seen, not too long ago, a group of Christians who have written an article stating that true Christians should never do yoga. I have been in Chinese restaurants where the waiter or waitress was American, but I did not send back the food claiming that it was not authentic because of who was serving me. It is now 1pm and I have not yet eaten breakfast, hence the food analogies.
-
I have encountered only a few diehard religious types who would not do qigong because Buddhists and Taoists are known to do chi kung and since they are Christians, this would be going against their religion. Have these people realized that Buddhists and Taoists also eat food? Should these Christians then stop eating food because that is something that Buddhists and Taoists also do?

That video is really cool! I loved the moving clouds too. Pretty amazing to think of someone doing chi kung in Turkey.

Thank you for the good advice about that ever pesky Mercury Retrograde. When it began I warned my wife to drive carefully. Then earlier this week I backed up and scratch part of the new car so took it a few days ago to schedule a repair date after the 27th. Unfortunately, during this retrograde I did sign a contract with a company to start litigation against a debtor. Had I read Sifu Terry's pointers, I would have delayed unleashing the dogs until Mercury Retrograde moved on.

Some qigong methods result in the chi having an intelligence of its own sending it t where healing is needed. I don't know if this is true for all qigong methods or not. I have not heard of specific Flying Phoenix mediations recommended for specific conditions. My understanding is that it is a holistic healing method.

Which Form of Qi Gong Do You Recommend for Chronic Fatigue?
tao stillness replied to roycee00's topic in Daoist Discussion
I would second the suggestion to find a healer who can determine the source of your problems. Otherwise, you are shooting in the dark and will not hit the target. An acupuncturist should be able to get to the source of the problem. A gifted medical clairvoyant might work as well. -
It is said that each qigong form produces its own unique energy field. Master Li said that 2 different qigong forms create interference within the person's energy field. I think not everyone would be sensitive to notice this. But that does not mean that interference is not happening anyway. Master Li said that even if one does not practice Falun, he should still not do more than one qigong method. George Xu who did the Wu Wei Qigong dvd is a high level martial artist who does many different forms you could ask his opinion about this but you are unlikely to get a reply from emailing him. You would have to communicate to him thru his senior student, Susan Matthews. She has a website.

Vajra Fist has much more experience with Falun Gong than I had and I would agree with what he has stated. As I have written elsewhere, I did feel the Falun Wheel being installed and later my medical clairvoyant saw it in me and he then described accurately what it looked like even though he had never seen a picture of the wheel. If the book of Falun is read, and I read it 6 times, you will see that the Master of Falun warns against practicing any form of qigong that would call in other spirits. It is my experience and understanding that people who pass out from drinking too much alcohol or people who use marijuana do open themselves up to allowing an entity to enter the holes in their aura caused by the drugs and alcohol. And to do meditation while having smoked marijuana is almost a guarantee that you will be possessed. I think it would require a clairvoyant to tell if anyone is really possessed. When I stopped doing the complete Falun form and just had time to do a few of the exercises, my medical clairvoyant reported that he saw my Falun Wheel was fading. By the way, he also tested Master George Xu's dvd called Wu Wei Qigong which is close to being identical looking to the Falun form but with a few differences and it has been around for longer than Falun. The clairvoyant found that Wu Wei Qigong is more powerful than Falun and it also installs a wheel but it is not shaped the same as that of Falun Wheel. I only did Wu Wei a few times but one time I did it I was coming down with a cold but by the end of he Wu Wei session all of the symptoms vanished and I felt great.

I have seen some other threads on Daobums and they are much different than the Flying Phoenix thread. They have have the feel of ego based, immature sarcastic dueling and showing off. So I find this Zenbear thread an oasis which you have aptly described why it is different. And I agree that it all starts with the Consciousness of the Sifu.

We live in a world I have read where onlly 2% of the population has a cultivation practice. People think that India is a land of meditators. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi told us that modern India is a place where there is more talk of meditation than actual practice of it. And until the 1980's there was not much practice of chi kung either. We see where this has got us. Addicted to the outside for our fulfillment. So when someone realizes that that the Godliness of his energy practice is next to cleanliness; this is a person who is aware. Please excuse my play on words. There are days when things have to get done and the only alone time I might have is at 1am. If I have not done my second session of chi kung for the day I will stay up at that time and do chi kung instead of go to bed then. I think the day has been wasted if I have not worked on evolution of consciousness. I have put that first since age 25 and I live by it. So nice to read those words from Earl Grey, a true Duke!

Excellent questions. There has been and never could be a better experience than what I had from TM Siddhis program since it took me to the goal of human existence. It was total fulfillment, inner and outer along with the knowingness that this is our normal state of mind that the human nervous system was constructed to produce when stress is eliminated and it can then function normally. I learned that enlightenment is produced by the brain when Kundalini reaches the higher chakras, etc. The brain literally lights up and you actually see the colors and the bliss that comes with them while your eyes are closed. I did the Siddhis program for another 25 years or so but never had any kind of sensation from it after that initiation. This is not the norm for that method at all. My lack of experiences with it are almost unheard of. So after about 25 years of trying it daily, I dropped it as a waste of time. No healer or psychic has ever been able to find why it only worked once. I cannot recommend either Tom or Maytawee based on my total lack of experiences from them. My best friend however, has bursts of heart energy and other experiences during and after his sessions. So it is not the healers that are ineffective, rather it is the unique condition of my nervous system. There are millions of people who have experiences from Oneness methods that think it is the greatest experience they have ever had. I would ignore the negative comments. The reason there are more negative comments is perhaps because there is no need to post any comments about it really. People just enjoy what they get from and have no need to post. Tom is [email protected]. Maytawee I think is maytawee.com but not sure about that and I did not keep her information. I know you can find her on facebook. For Oneness, let your own experience be the judge. Find a local Oneness Blessing Giver and receive the energy. If you cannot locate one, just tune into the live online Oneness Meditations that are daily and see if you feel anything. Oneness method claims to literally rewire the brain to produce Awakened State. To understand what this state is, Bhagavan explains this in every teaching video online. In over 40 years of reading books on higher states of consciousness I have never heard anyone explain Awakening and Enlightenment in such a recognizable and concrete manner. The zen oriented books just seem so abstract that they lead to confusion and actually really false information such as in the end there is nothing to search for, even the search for becoming enlightened is an illusion. That simply is a distortion of truth. The ego has to be decreased but this cannot be done by thinking. It takes an energy to quiet the parietal lobes and to turn on the frontal lobe and then the ego is pushed to the side and you no longer react from social conditioning or your DNA or past experiences. Instead, you react to and live life from direct experience thru Consciousness which is our true self. That is Oneness in a nutshell. Adishanti and Eckart Tolle books describe these higher states but these are guys who spontaneously found their way and thus they do not have methods to lead anyone to that state. There books serve the purpose of letting us know there is more to life than the unawakened state of mind, and until we are Awake, suffering to some degree will always be there no matter how well your outer life is going. Negative experiences and emotions do not last very long, they just do not stay with you in Awakened state.

Anyone familiar with Ni Hua Ching's Teachings?
tao stillness replied to Franklin's topic in General Discussion
I am amazed at Master Ni's knowledge but I did not find his commentary on the Tao Te Ching as good as that from, I believe his name is Starr. I would read them one after another to compare. I was told that the reason Master Ni knew so many different forms that he could perform was because he has a photographic memory. So all of the forms that he learned are still in his memory bank. I was also told that he some valuable psychic powers that his sons did not inherit. -
Anyone familiar with Ni Hua Ching's Teachings?
tao stillness replied to Franklin's topic in General Discussion
I think Taoists have different abilities. I assume the Chinese who are old now did not have fluoride in their local water systems so their teeth would be bad. Of course, without fluoride their Pineal glands would most likely function much better than that of Westerners. I would love to see even one documented case of anyone growing a third set of teeth. Apparently Master Ni is not one to attract attention to himself so most people have no idea what his true abilities really are. But some of his early students in California know quite well.
