  1. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

In gratitude to Sifu Terry and Sifu Hearfield I want to share this from verse 64 of the Tao Te Ching: "He guides men back to their own treasure. and helps all things come to know the truth they have forgotten All this he does without a stir." To me, this means an Awakened person functions from the Tao, or the state of least excitation of consciousness, the still point, the Absolute, Pure Being, the Transcendent, the Home of all the laws of Nature, Sat Chit Ananda, the vacuum state of quantum physics, Oneness, the Mother of 10,000 things, Samadhi, Nirvana. The formless Form. Movement in stillness. "Be still and know That I Am".

Sifu Terry, I may have caused some confusion about the medical intuitive's findings. This was not a recent one and the while light blessing was not from the Oneness Meditation. He was testing the GM Doo Wai family's chi kung series that was given to the Emperor's physician who was a member of the Wai family in 690 AD. I have this DVD which contains 9 standing moving meds demonstrated by GMDW but cannot be learned bc he does not break them down. But I do the second part of the DVD which consists of 4 standing static meds. I believe Eric was stating that he experiences the energy from these meds as having a celestial origin. This would make sense considering that GMDW calls it "heavenly healing".

Hello Sifu Terry, Your recent comments are well appreciated and of great value. I just want to say without going into detail that my medical intuitive has seen the channeled energy from above that you mentioned. He was testing the meditations from the set that some call the 690 AD meditations of GM Doo Wai family. Here is what he described: Saw you completely filled with a beautiful white light that was blessing you and working on your brain. Balancing all the brain functions. Looked very powerful. So it should be very helpful in accelerating your growth.

I must have missed something somewhere in the thread since I don't know what 100 days refers to. Could someone plz explain that. I have been doing FP daily since March 2012 so I don't see the significance of 100 days.

Anyone is invited to read thru this thread to find Sifu Terry's comments about FP and Yi Gong and the period of time to wait in between doing the 2 methods.
  6. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Reminds me of Baskins and Robbins ice cream flavor of the Day with the mention of all these other systems of chi kung which people have investigated. I am impressed with the desire that all true seekers have to get to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Thank you Sifu Garry for post 2243. To me that also describes the mechanics of Transcendental Mediation and all truly effective spiritual methods. You quiet the mind thru an energy source and then go beyond thoughts to Pure Awareness which is the same as the vacuum state of quantum mechanics. It is empty but contains the potential of all physical manifestation. The Mother of 10,000 things. The Source, the Tao. This is why what you quoted is not only beautiful but to me sums up all of cultivation. And since it is beyond all thoughts, but is the source of thought, when the brain is fully integrated as shown by modern EEG patterns, that is inner peace, bliss, Samadhi, etc. The small self, the ego, is gone and is replaced by our true Nature, which is wholeness, Oneness. When that state becomes fully integrated in the nervous system we are then Awakened and live it 24/7 and then are guided by the laws of Nature and our life then flows without the filter of the ego. We are then the big Self. That quote describes the path, the method, the spiritual technology, the Path of all paths. And you are so right when you say that what it takes to get there is to just keep doing our chosen practice. Transcend the self to reach the Self. As my guru taught, no one can meditate for you.

Kunlun has been mentioned so I will comment. I learned Yi Gong nei gong from Jenny Lamb dvd and she is emphatic that Yi Gong is not Kunlun. I then had private Skype session from one of Jenny's early students, Max, who went on to change the hand and arm position of Yi Gong and then call it Kunlun. He has added other nei gong methods since then and calls the whole deal Kunlun. When I think of "inner alchemy" I think that is what chi kung is all about. What value are these arcane texts, scriptures of Taoism without an enlightened master to interpret the real meaning of them. A mind in lesser consciousness cannot understand scriptures as they were written by people in higher states of consciousness. My teacher said that to understand scriptures it takes an enlightened master along with a physicist to interpret what they really mean. Channels and MCO and what FP does in terms of that can be in time, perhaps a very long time, be directly experienced by the student. The understanding of how FP works will not be sufficiently understood from intellectual understanding. The texts are meant to clarify experiences. We cannot put the cart before the horse. If one cannot wait that long, than there is an option of paying a medical clairvoyant to describe what he sees FP doing for inside of you and in the energy bodies. I have done that.

I am enjoying these questions and answers. The people on this blog have well developed minds. I like Sifu Garry's question to Antares which is also a question to all of us. Why are we doing chi kung, what are we seeking? And the perfect answer belongs to Antares when he said, "happiness". That was my reason for starting on the path 40 yrs ago and that is my reason for still treading the path. There is no end to the levels of happiness. I do chi kung for the same reason I do TM, evolution of Consciousness which has unlimited levels. I am grateful for the FP and the SYG meditations that have been released to us. I do not mind not having what else is out there. I have more than enough to master from what I now have. This is powerful healing energy and our nervous systems have to take it in gradually. We will all get there when we get there. I figure that I have what I am equipped to handle. I don't ask for seconds at meals when there is still food left on my plate.

I think the confusion was all mine. I'm just relieved it is all cleared up now and I do appreciate how active you are on this blog. It makes a big difference. I am trying to understand what is the difference between SYG and Flying Phoenix? They seem so similar to me. Yet I realize there is a different feel to the energies from each of those 2 systems.
  11. Is John Chang really that hard to find and train with?

About post #18: Yes levitation is part of what can be learned from the Vedas of India if you have the right guru. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the 1970's created an advanced method to Transcendental Meditation called the TM Siddhi program. It includes the correct way to levitate using Patanjali's Yoga Sutras which have been missing the secret simple method that makes the sutras work! Maharishi restored this once lost method to its full glory. I went into a state of enlightenment when I was initiated into the Siddhis that night in 1977. In 1977 I spent the entire summer on a special project with 3,000 people doing the Siddhis program in one location at Amherst, MA and I can tell you that levitation is possible. Everyone was doing the first stage of levitation which is hopping like a frog. I should say almost everyone. The levitation sutra has never worked for me, sorry to say. We have to learn to stop judging from our limited thinking, and instead determine for yourself what is true or not from your own experiences. Seeing is believing!

Really good news mates! Sifu Garry just texted that he is at work so he asked me to post this from him: SYG breathing is done the same way as that of Flying Phoenix breathing. That ends all confusion!!! Thank you Sifu Garry.
  13. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

I just reread all that I have from Sifu Garry about how to do the breathing and can see that I confused myself. The breathing sequence is done the same way as with FP. I had read an earlier post from someone who was confused about the breathing and then I started to question it too and just got confused. Sorry if I have confuses the rest of you guys. I am going back now to doing the breathing for SYG just the way it is done with FP unless I should hear otherwise from Sifu Garry.
  14. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

I see what Sifu Garry meant when he said with SYG you want to just stay in the meditation. I was just doing the second med on SYG 1. and since I am on vacation all week I have no time constraints so as the energy kept building in my palms I just enjoyed staying with it and felt sorry that it was time to end it in order to move on to the next one.
  15. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

Sifu Garry: this means that this breathing is done differently than we do in FP? Let us say if it is 50-20 for SYG. We do start with one breath in and out, then breath in to top, let out 50%, breathe in 50%, let it all out. Then breath in to the top and then let it all out, then breath in to top and then let 20 out,, in 20 and then let it all out, then finish with all the way to the top and then exhale? This is getting confusing.

Sifu Garry, thanks for showing us the correct speed as Sifu Terry calls, "moving at the speed of a shifting sand dune."
  17. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

To the earlier post about TM not working after 3 yrs. It actually is that for the past 3 yrs it has not worked like it did for the previous 37 yrs of daily practice. TMers understand huge blocks of stress can prevent transcending thoughts and thus prevent reaching those deep levels of relaxation. I hope that SYG can help release this stress so that the TM mediation works once again.
  18. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

By the way Anatares, last year I did one of the advanced FP meds from GM Doo Wai dvd and I was warned ahead of time not to do this by my medical clairvoyant who tested the dvd. He said it was so powerful and my nervous system was not yet ready for that strong energy. He was right. I tried one meditation twice and I had so much trouble falling asleep that I never tried it again. I am having no problems with the SYG. In fact, I did most of the SYG last night right before bed and I went right to sleep.
  19. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

My medical clairvoyant echoes Sifu Garry's claims for SYG, he said it is extremely powerful, his exact words. My own experience with SYG after just one week is that it is indeed powerful. I seldom can sense subtle energies except for Reiki and FP in the hands, but I can feel a strong energy from SYG, especially meditations 5 and 6 that really work on the heart chakra. It would be hard to miss that energy. To answer the question about doing vol. 7 of FP, I do the med for energy and the med for deep sleep on that volume and the 60 70 40 5 if there is time. But my priority now is SYG. On the 690 AD there is a unique breathing sequence since for the standing static meds you only do one breathing sequence before the first one and it lasts thru the rest of the meds. It is a really long one but easily memorized. Very strong energy from 690 AD. Different feel to it than the soft, gentle energy of FP. And FP is not purely medical chi kung at all. It opens spiritual centers. It works on all levels.
  20. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

Antares, I'm in agreement, too much to do and too little time unless one is retired or unemployed. So I now do select Flying Phoenix meds and all of the SYG 1. The SYG is more powerful than FP. I also do a dvd from GM Doo Wai of powerful static standing meds which on the dvd he states they are better than FP. My medical intuitive tested them and told me to stop the FP and do the Doo Wai. These meds were part of his family lineage since 690 AD when his ancestors were the physicians to the Emperors of China.
  21. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

yes, that is what Fo Ti is known as. I stopped taking it after two different attempts as it seems to cause a diuretic effect.
  22. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

Sifu Garry, I have read where Fo Ti is an herb that many have taken who practice chi kung. Do you have any thoughts about this herb?

Since there is some clarification going on here lately I want to add that yoga is not "Hindu". Hindu is a watered down version of an exact science of life called Veda which is where yoga comes from. Yoga in Sanskrit means yoke, to be united with Supreme Consciousness, to be One, the Tao. The Vedas are cognized via hymms which are vibrations, sounds which manifest in consciousness into forms which are formulas for right balance in order to become enlightened. The Vedas are heard by Seers or Rishis at the beginning of each creation of the earth. Hinduism is a weak, somewhat distorted version of the vedas due to people teaching the teachings who are not in an enlightened state of Consciousness so they interpret the scriptures only from their limited state of consciousness. The world is as we are. The blind leading the blind. I don't think Taoism is about theory. It is about experience these states and then we can talk about it in theory which comes from experience, without that there is no understanding of these principles. Just parrots mimicking words.
  24. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

I would very much like to hear about the standing SYG meds although allotting time for even more chi gung practice would be a challenge.
