Genetic Armageddon: Humanity's Greatest Threat

Taoist Yoga isn't for beginners. Start here: http://www.amazon.com/The-Root-Chinese-Qigong-Enlightenment/dp/1886969507/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377336476&sr=8-1&keywords=The+Root+of+Qigong Practice this: http://www.amazon.com/The-Way-Energy-Mastering-Internal/dp/0671736450/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377336494&sr=8-1&keywords=The+way+of+energy That will keep you busy for the next 2-3 years. Good luck!

First: One of the rules of Qigong (including Mo Pai) is to not be anxious about progression. This can create a ton of psychological problems and actually inhibit your progression. Second: Drop Mo Pai immediately. I went down this path and it's a dead end. Do not be fooled by other members on this board. No one - and I mean - NO ONE knows the complete system. There are no trainers that are worth their salt teaching Mo Pai. I can't stress this enough. Third: Nocturnal emissions are going to happen in the beginning. Since you're not doing anything serious right now in your practice, it's okay to experience them. You will not tear your Dan Tian (small/large intestine).

Are you going to follow me around in every thread just to post some argumentative crap? Go stalk someone else please. Thanks.

Anyone read this? It just came out... http://www.amazon.com/Decoding-DAO-Meditation-Complete-Comprehensive/dp/1478703946/ref=pd_ys_sf_s_283155_b1_1_p?ie=UTF8&refRID=0S0Y74ABTR6DNHT57VWG Seems like it's going to be the same regurgitated information from all the other books like it. 446 pages too...

Surprisingly enough there's very few people on here that actually practice. From what I have gathered during my time here, a lot of members just bicker back and forth about what they know; like the Mo Pai/Jedi/Saiyan wannabe guys. In reality, the only thing they know how to do is retain information they read in books but they don't actually know how to do anything. Lol. It's hilarious to read their posts though.

Haha, what you're talking about has actually nothing to do with Qigong or Taoists/Taoism but rather people in general. This is the internet and a forum for discussing things related to the spirit/energy/martial arts/etc. There's always going to be less people actually doing the work and far too many people (like the mo pai tards and others who believe they've "leveled up" past masters *cough cough*) just reciting crap they read on the internet and in fantasy books.

I assume you don't know this hence the reason for creating this thread... But there are 5 different types of Qigong practice. Religious Qigong Scholar Qigong Medical Qigong Enlightenment/Spiritual Qigong Martial Qigong This means not all Taoists have to be interested in - let's say - Martial Qigong for instance. They don't want to fight, so they might pick up Religious and Enlightenment Qigong. Or maybe they're interested in all of those above but tend to dwell on one more than the other. Different strokes for different folks.

Where is the Tan Tien, is it a physical 'thing' with exact physical location?
Celestial replied to thelerner's topic in General Discussion
It boggles my mind how people hear things like, "Dan Tian" and "Mud Pill Palace" and automatically assume it's some invisible sacred thing that cannot be located without "feeling" it. Do you guys even realize that all of these words originated centuries ago before modern medicine? Then what makes it worse is they read a book like Magus of Java or Taoist Yoga and they (people who assign levels to gaining power like it's a video game) then copy/paste the information on this forum without doing any further research/discovery on their own. To answer the OP: Dan Tian is located in the center of the small and large intestine. It's often call the Chi Reservoir (or Chi Ocean) because of the 6 layers of fascia/muscle which act as conductors for bio electricity (Chi). Bonus Round: Mud Pill Palace is your Pineal Gland. -

Who have we become!? Who else is disgusted by the interconnected dependence of human-energy we have created?

Best advice: Set a goal. Write it down. Buy a calendar and draw an "X" everyday. Don't break the chain of X's. Repeat with new goal. If you miss a day, first feel guilty, then start over from day 1. If you keep missing days and can't seem to get your act together, wait until another lifetime rolls around to try again because this kind of stuff just isn't for you...yet.

Yeah one day I checked the site and it was there. Upon seeing it, I thought either I just activated my Kundalini or Max from Kunlun popped in to say hello.

What is the best Qigong lineage to start out with?
Celestial replied to vivekji108's topic in Daoist Discussion
Most of what you just said is highly documented in books. What I have found in my practices is that I can feel what is and what isn't working. It's not a gift, we're all born with this ability. Teachers can show you the way, they can also discipline you, but ultimately you know your limits. -
Make the blue snake in the header graphic more transparent to blend in better with the rest of the artwork. Not a priority I know, but it sticks out like a sore thumb. Another suggestion is to add a section to the menu bar that is geared toward new members. A page consisting of website (or thread) links to popular practices. This could perhaps limit the constant stream of "hi i was wondering what qigong practices i should look into?" "what's kundalini, how do i activate it?" It could also include common vernacular to the arts.

I disagree with some of what you're saying. It's chicken and the egg. What came first? Who taught Da Mo the fist and palm forms while he was spending 9 years facing a wall? I mean let's be honest here, If you can't figure out how to stand in first position of Zhan Zhuang or perform Baduanjin without a teacher then you probably are not meant to achieve much spiritually in this lifetime - and that's okay. Another thing is finding an authentic teacher, not a white dude in a dojo that charges $150 a month to hand out belts. This doesn't mean white people can't become masters, but it's growing extremely rare to find even an authentic asian master to teach you this stuff. However, I agree with you that if you can find a teacher (granted someone authentic/legit) to show you the way, that it is ultimately better than learning from out of a book. Just don't be so quick to dismiss the power/intention of a well written book (or DVD) by authentic masters. -

It was an analogy to describe your logic, not a literal parallel. Impartial or not, trolling shouldn't be allowed. Period. You don't call a comedian making jokes a troll. It's a joke, not trolling. There is actually a difference. Oh and to clarify, I'm not saying everyone that makes a joke is a comedian... let's say my friend "plays a joke" (whatever that means), I don't call him a troll. A joke is a joke.
