Enlightenment Is An Exclusive Destination

Apologies if I sounded picky there. Was just thinking out loud. -
No idea. Found this Taoist creation myth though... Something about an egg.... http://people.howstuffworks.com/meaning-of-taoism1.htm Hope that helps.

Nice blog, thank you for posting the link. That last sentence there... " All I can say with some certainty that Allowing, Openness and Receptivity are the first steps towards the Truth." Not so sure about that 'from - to" journey idea but maybe I read it wrong. There's only an eternal 'now' , hence no real journey to be taken. All good though and whatever works for you please accept these Warmest best wishes to you for all success.

Is there 'sin' in Taoism? I'd rather thought that was Xtianity. -
The Shaolin Temple is hiring! No really....

Interesting topic. I wondered just how long paper can last and found this... Alkaline paper has a life expectancy of over 1,000 years for the best paper and 500 years for average grades.[8] The making of alkaline paper has several other advantages in addition to the preservation benefits afforded to the publications and documents printed on it. Because there are fewer corrosive chemicals used in making alkaline paper, the process is much easier on the machinery, reducing downtime and maintenance, and extending the machinery's useful life. The process is also significantly more environmentally friendly. Waste water and byproducts of the papermaking process can be recycled; energy can be saved in the drying and refining process; and alkaline paper can be more easily recycled.[9] ( wiki) -
Isn't grasping after celibacy still grasping after something? Aspiration sound nicer than 'grasping' but maybe there's still ambition in it.

Good luck with that walking on water or through solid walls DreamBliss. Maybe that can be done. Never say never. Thing is though where does it get you? Presumably to the other side of the wall or across the water. Doors, boats and bridges do much the same job and the technology of those means is all tried and tested. This whole 'From- To' restlessness can sometimes be symptomatic of dis- ease with the 'Here - Now'. However anyone gets from one place to another, usually; it's the same person who arrives. If change isn't 'change now' it's 'change never'. Now is all we have. Ever.

Thoughts about stating warnings for new practitioners
GrandmasterP replied to thelerner's topic in Forum and Tech Support
Not sure about other jurisdictions but anyone in the UK offering advice that could in any way be construed as leading to a physical action by another that caused harm to that other person is liable at law. Very strict laws on professional indemnity ( PI) and PI insurance here in the UK. Maybe not so strict elsewhere though. A litigant might come after TTB first then via TTB to the alleged perpetrator of the alleged 'advice leading to harm'. -

What do you think the forum can do to attract some quality teachers?

Chi Kung - The Ultimate Method of Breathing
GrandmasterP replied to ChiDragon's topic in Daoist Discussion
It is kinda off topic Captain. UMB and related trades here. And What are you listenin' to? Is over there. (((Points))) :-) Be lucky buddy. I'm not the milk monitor, just sayin' is all. ;-) -
Clairvoyance exists across all faith paths and those Buddhist apologists maybe reverse engineered their own take onto it . Bon predates Tibetan Buddhisms by quite a stretch. Shaman shows involving the 'clairs for cash' have been around as long as market squares in villages. Anywhere an audience can be gathered you'll find a psychic or related trade going about her or his business. Daoist fortune tellers make a good living in HK and Taiwan. Every Mind, Body and Spirit magazine, forum and website is choc-a-bloc with adverts for Psychics. We all of us ( I am a semi pro medium who gets paid for platform work and has done this 30- years and more past) ) hang out our shingle in our own especial ways. Factoring out the religious labels ( which is all any dogma is... 'Consumer labelling') the best advice from an old pro to anyone tempted by adverts or posts from 'psychics' etc is... 'Caveat Emptor'. ( Let the buyer beware). There are some total shysters and crooks out there selling the 'clairs for cash'.

Opening of the third eye and other byproducts along the way
GrandmasterP replied to Spotless's topic in General Discussion
Excellent thread. All the 'clairs' can be used or abused. Anyone offering them as a service to others is best covered by professional indemnity insurance ( essential in the UK where that is the law) and associated with some regulatory body or other with an ethical code. Beware jobbing 'psychics' many of those folks are out more for the fleece than the flock.- 554 replies

Yep, advertising. That or two guys been bumped off another forum. I checked out that ' Thusness' geezer and he seems to be a guru- sort for some. Leave our chums to chat is the best call I reckon. This thread reads a bit like one of old D.T. Suzuki's opaque ' forewords' , all polysyllabic list-names and 'in- terms' for 'initiates' only. Well you two guys.. Enjoy.

Chi Kung - The Ultimate Method of Breathing
GrandmasterP replied to ChiDragon's topic in Daoist Discussion
'Ultimate' doesn't imply 'only one'. It presumes many others. Hope that helps. -
"may be 'adequate' ".... Perhaps? Adequate implying ' enough to get by on' ( Still peckish) As opposed to " No more cake please. I've had enough." ( Replete) :-)

That is or was the motto of the Unitarian Church in the UK http://www.derbyunitarians.org.uk/unity_in_diversity.html but it's is unlikely ( IMO) to be heard from the lips of any 'faith path' booster round these here parts. Hence all the different sectarian threads over on DW for example. Rival guru boosters elsewhere boost their own guy. Something to suit everyone over at Sarlo's Guru Guide. Any amount of various paths n products are on offer here on TTB. No business that hoped to thrive would ever advertise its rival's products. Hence I reckon your ' Unity in Diversity' is a non starter as far as spiritualities are concerned. Each to her or his own.

It's a useful re- post. Many thanks for bumping this thread. -
