If you had taken as much LSD as Paul McCartney then you wouldn't eat anything with a face either. (Robert Rankin) Same guy.... "Ganesha, isn't he Dennis the Menace's dog?' -

Serious question for those cultivating celibacy or retention forms.
GrandmasterP posted a topic in General Discussion
Is retention and/or celibacy cultivation instead of sexual relations or 'as well as'. Been to a tantric week and they went at it like knives. (I was doing paid readings not joining in). Serious question this and I'm not seeking to have a pop at anyone's path, just puzzled and curious. Many thanks.. -

When I was a kid there wasn't much in the way of supplements except something called Haliborange tables that we had in winter time, and cod liver oil which was utterly foul. These days I get by on a Tesco multi vit n mineral horse pill once a day and that seems to do the trick. I don't think you need to eat meat for a balanced diet but do agree that veggies do need supplements as we get older, possibly everybody does. I do know that you can't ingest vitamin B complex because when I was nursing we had to give the alcoholics Vitamin B injections, It came in two phials and was quite viscose, you had to stand them in warm water before you drew them up into the syringe. The phials not the alcoholics. -
Best to do something you enjoy. Some guy said, can't remember who... My hobby is also my job so I've never worked a day in my life.
-
Yep. The guy was well impressed. I'm thinking, well V would say that anyhoo. He's advocating non violence and not killing anything, then some journalist guy who intends to write a book about V has caught him bang to rights jumping up and down on an ex-spider... What's he going to say. I mean... Did Vivekananda read the spider's mind? I don't think so.

Not unless there's to be a pirate theme. I am more the snap-brim fedora type for wedding headgear.

So how can we prove who is a real Christian? Well actually, Jesus left a specific litmus test for determining the true christian faithful, as published in the canonized text,...Mark 16:16-18. A true Christian, "the man who accepts baptism,...will be able to drink deadly poison without harm". .................. I have always rather admired those serpent-handling Christian denominations . Those guys do have the courage of their convictions.

They had to be. On spiders though..... There's a story in Vivekananda's biography. Western Guy staying in Vs Ashram in India sees V stomp on a spider and asks him why he did it, V replied 'It was a poisonous spider, it intended to kill you.'

You said you were a pussy lover a while ago Sinan and bearing that it mind catteries seem to do well round here anyway. Always someone needs a pussy tended to whilst they are away. Also with a cattery you don't get the barking that you do with boarding kennels so planning permission isn't as hard to come by.

Veggie is best, in my book anyway. Hitler was a veggie and he was a psycho. Not sure meat eating equates with psychopathy or being a veggie with being super nice though. Cracking posts here. -

Many thanks for the replies, most interesting. -
Serious question addressed to those doing this cultivation. I have an abiding suspicion that much that passes for celibacy discourse etc stems from either lack of opportunity or repression. I would like to be wrong, hence the question. Not a few male cultivators here are relatively young and most of us are men. Call me old fashioned but I have noticed that men do tend to take a healthy interest in sex. It's part of life, natural and we'd be snookered as a species if that wasn't the case. I'll attempt to rephrase the Q a bit and elsewhere so as not to derail this thread.

' You need a certain kind of front to breeze in from an alternative reality in the back of a time-travelling Volvo and sit in a Presley City bar, with a two headed nipper on your lap, complaining to a private dick from the twenty-fifth century that you don't have time for nonsense'. (Robert Rankin... The Suburban Book of the Dead.. p. 208). -
I've met Taoist priests in Taiwan and seen some of them in action and those guys in the British Taoist Association just seemed very different somehow, sorta like 'wannabe vicars'. Possibly because what they were doing simply wasn't encultured here as it is in Taiwan. When they popped up at first it was to be a missionary set up but it all seems to have fizzled out.

' Wandering dream souls' is a far nicer description than 'disembodied liars' IMHO

If you can get it in front of those toffs with money up west London mate you'll be quids in. Look at that Tracey Emin she's minted and you can't even hang her stuff on the wall, yours is tons better. Schelpp your portfolio round a few posh galleries. What's to lose?

Phil Rickman... Merrily Watkins series is super and his two hermetic slanted Dr Dee books Bones of Avalon and The Heresy of Dr Dee are well worth a look. Robert Rankin for surreal Taoism and only then if you like laughing out loud. Anything by Rankin, and there are over 30 books of his to choose from. -

Yep he was raised by his grandparents in a rural village. Quite an idyllic childhood by his own account. He did go on to become a university lecturer before taking up full time guru-ing. -

GrandmasterP replied to Flolfolil's topic in General Discussion
Just cultivate until it becomes so much a part of yourself that you do it automatically without having to think about what you are doing. Best to stick to one form. It takes a while but eventually everything sorta comes together. Regular cultivation is the key each and every day and ideally... same times, same place, same form. -
