Well it's no great shakes isn't army life for sure but as sure as eggs is eggs my great grandad, my grandad, my dad, me and my two lads have all had some and all been shot at for our troubles. Grandad being the unlucky one, he had a piece of shrapnel in him from Passchendale right up to his passing in 1984. The rest of us were lucky. Thing is, as long as someone is out there drawing enemy fire then the folks back home can sleep safe abed of a night. Yours is a fair comment Judo, nobody likes the idea of wars and such but they are as much a part of life as is art and music and someone has to participate so that others don't. Not defending it at all, that's just how it is.

Yep , going by that job description it seems as though we are all bodhisattvas should we choose to describe ourselves as such. Other routes will have their own unique definitions of what the job entails and who can become one but that tricycle definition comes from a respected Buddhist ( by those Buddhists who frequent it) source and, given that there are so many Buddhisms to choose amongst; it is as valid a definition of bodhisattva as is as any other. Anybody tells me they're a bodhisattva my response remains.... "Well that's very nice for you. Good luck with it".

Sree buddy, abstention's a positive choice and whilst you believe in neither Qi or Gravity, rest assured that those two puppies believe in you so much that they find you attractive.

Jenny Lamb does good work and her DVDs are reasonably priced, what you'll get from Sifu Jenny is all you'll ever need. Avoid those expensive systems they are simply patented money spinners. Some of these system-sellers add a few tweaks of their own imagining and then rack up the price.

Poland was always handy in Europe. Always good for a practice run and dress rehearsal prior to the main event was Poland. Anecdotally there was a Krakow published travel guide of the 19th Century entitled... 'So you are an invading army. Welcome to Poland. Twenty must-visit sites for the soldier on a budget' We had Ireland for a while, that was handy. Gave the boggy bits back to the locals eventually but kept Ulster with its fine harbours and resources for ourselves . Seem to remember we burnt down Washington back in the day too. Fine old tradition of the British Army was making a hell of a mess in someone else's back yard as faraway from home as possible. Aerial bombing popped that bubble but it was good whilst it lasted.

Good man. It's never too late to go back to college and 35 is no age at all, although it maybe seems so to you right now. It isn't though. Associate degrees are a great way in especially the vocational ones as they lead to paid work plus community colleges are a super place to study for mature students as you'll be amongst more students similar to yourself than you would tend to find in a kidult-predominant first degree mill. Good luck and best wishes to you. I'm a lecturer (philosophy of education) in a uni, PM if I can ever be of any help. Don't know your subject at all but have colleagues and chums who do.

Just booked a holiday cottage online, no fuss, all done in ten-minutes. Marvellous thing the internet. Activism wise the internet is a great medium for getting people together for direct action, that occupy the streets campaign kicked off via the internet but the end product still needs to be people actually physically doing activism because power holders take no notice at all of tweeted protests and the likes. This Christmas just gone was a tipping point for retail capitalism on the high street too as more bought online than in store overall. That'll see a gradual but radical change to retail areas in city centres. -
I'll give you military officers, total waste of space most officers are. The sergeants mess runs the British Army, always has done. You'll never get by without soldiers though or only just as long as it takes for the country that still has some soldiers to invade and take over your soldier-less part of the world. Peace is maintained by large numbers of chunky well armed and well trained working class lads hence there has always been far more peace than ever there has been wars going on. Trick is to choose your battlefields as far away from home as possible to save domestic mess.

Best to take people by their own estimation. ;-) Some of us made Sinfest a God the other week too. He wouldn't do anything Godlike though so we had to let him go. Nice to have a bodhisattva about the place, it'll save us all so much work.

Maybe it's that element of salesmanship. He has been pitching his wares this twenty years past or more according to the interviewer in the intro. Most salespeople come across (to me anyway) a bit like Mr. Frantzis does in the interview, not that he's hard selling anything he just has that slightly 'slick' manner. I'm not saying that for a bad thing at all it's just the impression I've got from seeing him here for the first time in person. I enjoyed the books they contain BS-free QiGong forms and are well written, anyone could learn something useful from them. My abiding issue with any of the system sellers is that with QiGong, these days; you can find everything you need for free online. That said , a lot of folk don't know where to look nor what for so, from what I have seen of it; Mr Frantzis system is the best I've come across for a sort of 'one stop shop' to get anyone up, running and cultivating successfully.

Bet there aren't many forums online with a real bodhisattva posting. Dharma Wheel hasn't got one. Premier League is TTB and no mistake. Time for a new banner heading for the Forum maybe? THE TAO BUMS Discussions On The Way (Now with added bodhisattva)
