One thing for sure. Anyone attempting to explain or critique QP and/or Superstring Theory - and who does not currently hold tenure in an accredited university or institute currently in receipt of research funding into their field - has not the first idea what they are talking about. Self included. I only know that superstring trumps QP because the physics boffins at my old uni who had drawn down funding for QP had to re- bid for superstring work because all the research funds for QP had dried up.

What is a banable offence from chat rooms or forums?
GrandmasterP replied to mewtwo's topic in General Discussion
Anybody who gets banned from here has had to be an unutterable pillock. It's not as if the mods don't warn people. I've been warned often enough. Mainly politely sometimes not. Albeit that 'not' was back in the day of a psycho mod, no longer here; who was all over me like a bad rash. Total bunny boiler she was and no mistake. -

"For that he deserved to be pitted." Yep, that and his awful acting. -

I go on another forum that used to get a bit snippy sometimes and people were banned or suspended pretty frequently. I was suspended four times over a couple of years, appealed two and had them lifted but served two suspensions of a week each. Both times for 'spamming' by going off topic. Massive forum so it was really no biggie in one way as far as numbers posting went. Then the forum owner banned bans and , almost overnight; the forum became much more polite. If a thread gets out of hand it gets "pitted" but that hardly ever happens. -
QP is so 20th century. Superstring theory is the only game in town nowadays.

Stretching is good for the spine. If prostrations do nothing else they offer good stretching.

Re the model for a doable anarch: let's alpha test it
GrandmasterP replied to Taomeow's topic in The Rabbit Hole
You'd be forbidden from posting that sort of comment MH - if these proposals are ever adopted. There's enough rules and laws in the world as it is without someone coming up with new ones for posting on here. -
This will be our first season in this new to us seaside garden. The cottage is 200+ years old and we've some ancient fruit trees. Lots of bulbs coming up already and huge drifts of snowdrops already opened but I haven't mowed yet. Mrs GMP has grand ( and expensive) landscaping plans. I'm on board with her plans just so long as it doesn't involve me in heavy lifting. We're that age now when getting someone in to do the donkey work is a viable option.

"Challenging it in any manner for any purposes would be forbidden." Sounds 'forbidding'. -

The opening shots in the movie are chapter and verse the first three paragraphs in my story. Pragmatically though I would be unlikely to get anything as the magazine publisher who bought my story would claim rights. I can't remember ( never knew) whether or not publication implied they owned 'world' rights or not. Back in the day it was a real result to get anything accepted for publication and be paid for it. The £80 I got for that yarn was serious money to me at the time. Hey ho.

Who would be prosecuted and how for breaking this anti-reincarnation law? I have visions of Chinese detectives staking out maternity wards and shouting .... "Book him Danno-Chan!"..... as soon as a baby pops out. They'd have to manufacture tiny handcuffs but, that said; the Chinese are good at making stuff.

Seems to me that problems are problems whoever has them and wherever they arise. It's how we choose to deal with problems that counts.

Yep. They got that right.

It's all very well ignoring this guy but if ever we do get a zombie apocalypse he could be a handy dude to know. I for one would have no hesitation in sending him in first against the undead to 'take one for the team'. -
Monsoon Wedding ( the India based movie by some dude who made a mint). Monsoon Wedding ( the India based magazine short story by "GMP" using my pen name and published four years before the movie was released). Did I get one red cent? Take a wild guess.

Can a return to Buddhist values offer China a greener path?

Anything that reduces pollution is good. This is a step in the right direction. -
Hi Rara. Being self employed you work for a very hard boss. Thing is buddy what would you do if you stopped? The lows are low but in your line of work the highs must be incredible. Might you not miss those? I was dreaming of retiring and stopping work. More time for me and more time for cultivation. Fact is, so far; I'm bored off my bits a lot of the time. Don't miss work but do miss workmates, my students and the 'crack'. Think before you jump my friend and all good wishes to you whatever you decide to do.

I got that on Sunday 1st March for a while. Then it cleared up.
