  1. Why would a cultivator seek to 'empower' something? Cultivation at best is just cultivation. It sorta takes over when will 'realises' its own futility.
  2. Qi goes where blood flows, the more you tell Qi what to do, the more notice it begins to take.
  3. The drunken soldier's compatibility test being... warm? Yes Breathing? Yes Get In!
  4. Past lives

One for you Sinan... Lone Ranger and Tonto riding across the prairie. Commanche war party appears over the horizon and gallops at them brandishing tomahawks and whoopin and hollerin. Looking pretty pissed. Crikey Tonto Gasps the Lone Ranger Them pesky redskins sure looks angry Tonto replies... Who are you calling redskins? You white imperialist pig!
  5. New to Tao

Taoist food is much tastier than Buddhist food, more spices and a wider menu. Hubble pics are nice, but can they bake bread? Welcome to the forum. :-)

  9. Shiva God of Death sitting on slain tiger skin

Mrs Shiva.... You get a bath before you sit down to eat, you stink! And whaddaya mean you aint hungry? Don't tell me you've been down that ghat eatin' corpses again! I'm stuck here at home with little Kali and baby Laxmi all day slaving over a hot stove and you come in here at his hour tellin' me you aint hungry.... Mr. Shiva... Sorry dear. I promise it won't happen again.
  10. Past lives

Not so sure about us having impact on someone else's. Our next turn on the wheel is down to each individual's acts NOW. Karma sorta reflects on 'ourselves alone' (that translates as Sinn Fein in the Gaelic).
  11. Past lives

........ Yep we've all of us had countless past lives mainly very mundane ones. Trick is to try not to have any or too many more.
  12. I need some advice fellow bottoms.

Fer goodness sake! Do you really think this stuff works from reading a book? That has to be the ultimate Taoist/Buddhist dichotomy. Buddhism has acres of 'How To' volumes none of which work. Taoism has a few chancers flogging books along the same lines. And those proprietary volumes don't work either. Finger.... Moon
  13. Compatibility schmompatibility just make sure she's a nice yiddisher girl.
  14. Meat eating thread

Yep that'd work too, we prefer pimenton which is a smoked variety of various heats. You can buy a selection on Amazon UK and it comes in lovely tins direct from Spain, not at all expensive.
  15. LOL

Lol is a man's forename round these parts. Short for Lowell. Unique to English East Midlands I think. I'd not met one before we moved here.
  16. Meat eating thread

Some herbs Is what makes it spicy or not. We put pimenton and chile pepper but you can put any in you like depending on if you like spicy or savoury or bland.
  17. Meat eating thread

cashew nuts coarsely crushed Cheese we like Cheddar but any cheese is food Eggs two Flour Chopped leeks Some herbs Loads of mushrooms Breadcrumbs Bit of Marmite Makes enough to fill a loaf tin. Fashion into burgers and grill. Yu can just whack it all into the loaf tin and bake ghat then slice it. Bleddy tasty.
  18. I reckon they believe that If they stop writing or talking or thinking* about Buddhism endlessly, then the demons might get em. *thinking about Buddhism is called 'meditation' in Buddhist circles.
  19. Yep, those Buddhists do love to lecture. ;-)
  20. Young Damo Mitchell's my five star chap for NG, and his excellent Daoist NeiGung book's for pennies on Amazon partners? It's all in there.
  21. I reckon Jeff does good work and no way would I ever knock anyone pushing QiGong. His DVDs are way too expensive and fifty bucks plus for a book is a lot to pay too. Thing with QiGong is that it's all pretty much out there online. Learn a set, do it; keep at it, for a long long time, that's 'all' it takes. All the internal stuff falls into your lap once you begin cultivating a set regularly. The books almost come to your door as if by accident and they don't cost fifty bucks each either. All this direct transmission schtick is just a load of old cobblers, only time you need a teacher is to have someone there who can coach you in moves whilst you are both in the same room. That you don't get from a DVD or a book. Then again it is nice to get together with a lot of like minded people for a workshop or residential gig, you can learn as much from other attendees as you can from the guy up on the podium. Change out of a hundred dollars is cheap for four days but if some of those four days are high pressure selling then maybe it's not the bargain it looks to be.
  22. You don't need a guru buddy. :-)
  23. Beginers experiences
