Osho Leela [Leela means playfulness in Hindi] is a UK centre in Gillingham: Dorset about half an hour from Glastonbury. They have festivals through summer and anyone can go. Veggie food all inclusive and cheap to camp. Nice place. There's something for everybody from Swingers and Doggers [Tantra week] through to family friendly fun weeks. All based around the idea that Playfulness is good for you. It is [well maybe not Tantra but if you like that sort of thing......].

Epiphanic is a curious concept to find on a Taoist forum. It's a Xtian construct refined in their enlightenment era. That Cartesian linearity idea et uses above of... State A......via Epiphany....to.... state B is classical dualism. The Xtians use it substituting 'Salvation'for 'Epiphany'and vice versa, with gay abandon. Less well taught Buddhists have it too in their.... 'Self....Praxis.... Higher Self' musings. It simply reifies their wistful longing to articulate that which cannot be described. Taoists know not to waste time trying to do so.

Spiritual Literature - To Read Or Not To Read
GrandmasterP replied to adept's topic in General Discussion
Readers like to read others buy the DVDs some like us read and post online too. No shortage of spirituality texts to dip into but reading isn't cultivating and vice versa. Disciplined cultivation times bring positive results. There are enough hours in every day for constructive balance between work, study and cultivation with still some space remaining for socialising which is essential. Taoism needs to be part corporate [enacted with and amongst other real flesh and bone Taoists] in order for us to enjoy the fullest benefits possible. -
Derren Brown successfully programs 'Sleeper Agent' Assassin!

Derren's a great showman but Kreskin, the guy he stole the routines from; was a better technical mentalist.. -
On topic and this is simply yet another reading. Ch55 and that last line... 'Not-TAO soon ends' ...could be interpreted as indicating the physical death of a non-cultivator.. All readings are equally valid and, equally partial; as Ch 1 line 1 of TTC gently reminds us..

You're never alone with a channeled spirit eh Flowing Hands? With deep respect Lao-Tzu is a construct and TTC a synopsis of extant wisdom, distilled. Spirits may be echoes of a personality or hungry ghosts. It's important to know who or what one is dealng with and you do not. Whilst in no wise doubting the veracity of your own guide Li Er s/he aint Lao Tzu mate and any opinions s/he might have on TTC have as much, but no more veracity; than anyone elses be those from this side of life or any other. Shamanic role is that of addressing live folks issues now not catechising ancient texts. Impersonating spirits and how to deal with those is an early part of mediums training. The presumption being that such work takes place within,in order to serve; a community . Lonely imaginings or wishful thinking of themselves may bring solace but they have little or no value beyond the purely individual. If you are UK based I strongly recommend your joning a development circle in one of the spiritualistic focus Taoist centres.

Mmmmm et's 'passive aggressive' eh? Now that's what you might 'feel' K but you can't 'know' for sure and, whilst we all have feelings; sadly intellect is less equitably distributed. Best just to be polite and move on.

Has anyone used inner vision to perceive dark matter and or inner visions of lower dantien and qi/chi?
GrandmasterP replied to Horus's topic in Daoist Discussion
I'd change to another cultivation mate. What you describe is not at all healthy. 8 Strands of Silk Brocade is good. Be careful.- 16 replies

Thrusting channel and 'pole' may be different words for the same channel. Chi Dragon would know. I wonder if the pictogram 'pole' might imply a hollow bamboo water pipe or a flexible bamboo. It's a barrier for sure. Students who use the P word may be rigid within. Where that occurs I recommend using a Tai Chi ruler set. Like the one above. That externalises and helps towards dispersing rigidity of approach. Once they get that out of ther system they can begin QiGong cultivation. Playwell Martial Arts in London sell a superb ruler ruler for £9-00 plus postage. HTH Good luck with your cultivation.

Dr. Eric Pearl is one of those. In his book, The Reconnection, Heal Others, Heal Yourself, Eric tells the story of his life, of becoming a chiropractor. Then he recounts his meeting with a Jewish gypsy fortune teller on Venice Beach. Against his better judgment, feeling like a sucker, he paid her $333 to reconnect him to the planet and other stars and planets. from..... http://www.sheilaking.biz/reconnection.html

Bumping this up to enquire if anyone has had recent dealings with Dr Sha's methods or knows anything of them. Anyone been to one of his training seminars? Any comments appreciated. -
The idea that "Oh I had to do it because I needed the money"
GrandmasterP replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
"... if everyone believes the social conditioning that the only way to survive is to work in a (potentially evil) job- kill people join the army, market bullshit, etc what kind of freedom do people have, what kind of morality will that create, this idea creates a slave based civilisation". Sounds like my life does that Sinan. Left school at 15, Army (medic)... then nursing, then teaching... Now 60 so been paying feckin' taxes for 45-years. And still can't afford to retire. I should have listened to my old granny back in 1967 and saved up more. Thing is with armies mate, and this is NOT a pop at you in any way... a lot more folk would be slaves today had we not had our army plus the Americans fighting for us when they were needed. Necessary evil and all that. .......................................................................................................... PS I thought you were an atheist Marblehead. (That being your karma this time around and all). -
Pardon my ignorance but does anyone know... Is this Dragon Gate Sanctuary connected to the (Feng Xingzhao of the Leigutai Temple) Dragon Gate Sect that the British Taoist Association claims affiliation with or is it an independent operation ?

Benjamin worked the circuit as a Spiritualist medium certainly between the wars. There's mention of him in the Lily Dale archive. Once the correspondence couses took off he seems to have given up the mediumshp. His 'church' was one of the first to offer 'ordination' by mail order. Nice to see that they are still in business.

Lao Tzu's idea of the Sage as expressed in the TTC
GrandmasterP replied to Aaron's topic in General Discussion
Makes sense. Look at Machivelli's the Prince or much earlier the Art of War. In order to influence change and get the message out there it needs to be targeted at change makers. TTC is a universal text we all read it as we may but given the context of the time it was written an imperial elite readership would do more with it than say the customs guy on the gate it was supposedly written 'for' in the first place. Just wish some of our rulers today would maybe take a bit more interest in TTC... . for example... If government is muted and muffled People are cool and refreshed......
