Gel my friend. Gel saddle. The Ezee bike has a saddle as big as a steak house dinner plate and far more forgiving. I did buy and still own a pair of Lycra cycling shorts with a foam pad in the gusset but once on was quite enough. Nasty! Road bike 'razor blade' super skinny carbon fibre saddles, now those are for masochists. There's unforgiving!

High energy state attracting unwanted attention
GrandmasterP replied to idiot_stimpy's topic in General Discussion
Opening up via cultivation/meditation is a grand thing but one needs to be able to close down at the end too. Otherwise 'loose ends' are dangling and doors left open that should be shut. Those poorly taught or self-taught folks who go around either so "heavenly minded" that they are no earthly use or become obsessive about 'voices' or 'possession' either don't know or haven't been taught how to close down properly. A cultivator who does not feel to be in control or believes them-self to be at the mercy of unwanted attentions along with all forms of QiGong Psychosis (so called), those poor folks are just plain doing it wrong. Hence a skilled teacher is essential. -
Good luck with those. Let us know how you get on.

My zafu and zabuton are buckwheat hull filled it's good stuff. Moulds to your shape but still gives support.

The current population of India is 1.22 billion. I'd venture that Kundalini does not lead to infertility. Quite the opposite, possibly.

If it does then it won't be a 'secret'. There's been a docu series on TV recently advertised as... " Join John Presenter ( whoever he is) as he visits undiscovered corners of the Amazon." Thing is wherever he rocks up the 'natives' are wearing trainers, soccer shirts and baseball caps. The women use plastic buckets and bowls. One hut in shot last week had a satellite dish out back and every other house has a corrugated-iron roof. "Undiscovered" my erse!

I've got an air line will that do? The compressor isn't what it once was though.

All fixed. Collected the bike this morning. It looks and runs like new. Complementary bike valet service with every service which was a nice surprise. It is shinier now than ever it was. Ended up with a 'new generation' battery which according to the specs should be an improvement on the original model which were "prone to problems". My old one had swollen to the extent that it had stuck fast into the holder. These new ones don't do that according to the bike mechanic. That is one busy dealership considering it's a guy and his mate working out of a double garage. Nice to come across lads who are obviously happy in and committed to their jobs. Genuinely enthusiastic for electric transport they were.

Interpretation of the Classic Title - 道德經 - Tao Te Ching

Best book I ever read on Nihilism and it's in the form of a novel. Only a penny from Amazon UK partners. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Travels-Nihilon-Alan-Sillitoe/dp/0491003684/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1406072065&sr=1-1&keywords=travels+in+nihilon The single review is unwittingly hilarious. Put me in mind of the second hand copy of " Puppy training for Dummies." That Mrs GMP took delivery of via Amazon UK last week. The book arrived complete with puppy-teeth chew marks all round its edges. -
Just the punchline this time, can you guess what the patient said? Patient. ". ..... .. . .... .. ........" Doctor. " Well pull yourself together!"
-
Triage nurse ( newbie). "Doctor there's a man been admitted to casualty with one leg called Arthur Jones." Doctor. " What's his other leg called?"

Welcome Hiroki. Don't sweat the past, it's long gone. The future's not arrived yet so chill and enjoy that 'now-ness' which is TTB ambience at its best.

What exactly is the mind and where is it located ?
GrandmasterP replied to TaoMaster's topic in Daoist Discussion
Sign on the wall in the guardroom ( cells for naughty soldiers attached) of an infantry depot that I was once stationed in. " This guardroom detail practices Mind over Matter. We don't Mind. You don't Matter." On topic, whether or not our mind exists, it sure is busy. I can't think of any cultivation that wasn't designed to 'calm the monkey mind' in one way or another. -
Our nearest city is Leicester which is officially the UK's only non-white-majority city. It has the largest Indian population of any city outside of India along with sizeable Moslem and Somali communities plus more recent arrivals such as Romanians and Albanians. When those riots a couple of years ago were at their worst we never had a bit of trouble in Leicester and one time when the English Defence League which is an anti immigration uniformed crew attempted to stage a march in Leicester they were laughed off the streets by all and sundry. They've not been back since. It's by no means a perfect place but having lived in London and near to a northern city there's something different about Leicester for sure. Whilst the city is a melting pot, out here in the surrounding county we are almost exclusively white and that must be from preference because a lot of the Indians in particular are professional and well to do people but they still prefer the city wealthy suburbs to the very rural county. For sure there is very little by way of work or business out here apart from farming. Skegness the seaside resort nearest to where we are moving is the holiday destination of choice for Leicester people and you'll see almost as many non white families there as one does in the city. One thing that you do notice is that Indian families on holiday generally have a coupla grandparents at least on board whereas English families it's just Mom, Dad and the kids.

Yep they are Lithium 'HiLion' batteries.Akin to a long series of mobile phone-casing-sized batteries all wired together I was told. Thing is the battery is a sealed unit so a replacement is all anyone with my total incomprehension can accept. Bike's fixed and I am off tomorrow morning to collect it. It needed some other bits doing to it so £395 in total which isn't bad considering the new battery cost £330. That works out at just slightly over £1 a week 'maintenance' costs since I bought it from new.

We should all have his sales figures. Good luck to anyone selling spirituality books, it's a tough and very competitive market with very little return unless a book goes mega and the author has retained some rights. Very few spirituality books do sell big and all new plus most other authors have to sign away rights beyond the advance and a small cut of sales above a certain number in the original-language marketplace.

Yep she's handy about the home is Mrs GMP. My approach with decorating has always been 'get someone in to do it' but she's gone all 'hands on' since she retired. Certainly saved money and she's done a grand job. I do the labouring plus fetching, carrying and clean up. That works pretty well.

Mr Hyde was more fun than Dr Jekyll in that movie IMO. "World Events" though.... 'Meh'. Call me callous, and all sympathy to sufferers of and from anything - everywhere; but this bad-news stuff is always with us and always will be with us. Sod all any of us can do about it one way or the other and anyone trying to is either 'look at me' delusional, a fool or a politician.

I wonder if, to an extent; he's " having his cake and eating it." The Cognitive material sells to those interested, he's already done a book on Mindfulness and that's pretty good plus his Buddhist translations and 'own take' books on Buddhism. Put those all together in one book plus 'skepticism' on the cover and you are selling into four markets with the one book. That is good business. I've just taken a Buddhist Atheist book to the charity shop, forget the author, it was a review copy but it didn't sell well going by Amazon. Maybe Wallace will do better with this new book of his. Publishing is a business and prolific writers such as Wallace are led as much by their agent and their publisher as to what they produce. There's more business than ever there is belief in 'spirituality' books - at, but not beyond; the point of retail-sale. Book buyers of this kind of work tend towards believing or wanting to believe something. There's far more to it than that on the book-production side though.

Yep Same for the first guy ever to eat a crab. Now that was a brave and innovative ancestor right there! Crabs and Lobster 'au naturelle' don't exactly scream 'Tasty Food Here" do they?

Why do only very few Dzogchen practitioners attain rainbow body?
GrandmasterP replied to Wells's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Good call. These Buddhabum Dzogchen boosters talk a good talk but as far as 'walking the walk' IMO any teacher worth his salt would just laugh at their silly posturings on here. Copying and pasting 'proof' text is just sad. Who are they aiming to convince? My guess is "Them-self".
