Darn but I forgot to ask. Chang, please might you use a fraction of your super-Mod powers towards effecting a successful sale of my house? Many thanks. GMP

This guy sounds enlightened to me.

Prayer at its best is maybe the same thing as focused intention and vice versa. Caroline Brazier the ( English) Pure Land teacher and psychotherapist/author talks about cultivating nembutsu with intention for all sentient beings to attain as being something other than cultivating nembutsu for personal merit or 'gain'. It's a win win IMO. If someone prays / cultivates with intention for someone other than them-self then that person ( hopefully) derives benefit. However the fact that the cultivator is doing so, potentially renders merit 'to' the cultivator. -

Yep. I can do that pretty easily. Foolish is my default look. -

http://www.throssel.org.uk/ Nice place. Some excellent resources on the website too. The meditation vids are super. Hope that helps and that you find a place to suit you. Being a zen place you get an evening meal. Some places they don't eat after mid day. -
The "Official" Mo Pai & "Things You Might Not Know About Real Mo Pai" Thread

Let's stick with labels for a moment, attaching religion to it just causes dissent. As it seems to have done CT. I cast no aspersions on Buddhism by making a connection between a lengthy No Self thread alluded to by another poster and this lengthy MoPai thread. My point remains that this thread could well be locked for all the purpose it serves beyond fostering dissension. -
QiGong's gotta be good too. Not a war hero scar I just had a gall stone removed during the Falklands Campaign. Lucky stone that was cos I was still a military reservist and it kept me safe in hospital rather than being called up.

How camp is this one? Not bad prices though 1000 Taiwan Dollars is about £19 GBP or $33 US.

Maps are fine. It's those map vendors that you need to watch out for.

Chang! Where are you? No self. Implies " No" self. Let's stick with labels for a moment, attaching religion to it just causes dissent. No MoPai implies "No" MoPai. Factor out belief ( wishful thinking with literature) and a correlation may be fairly made. Better yet. Lock this rambling thread. It unravelled pages ago. -
Our 'Dynamo Jack' ( emeritus) Moderator Chang can set fire to threads just by waving his hand in their general direction.

Eight Increases here. Then I discovered WeightWatchers.

Is our Chang the same person as John Chang the MoPai chap? Of so he could resolve a dispute or two on here. Go Chang. Lock dem threads.

Cheers buddy. I changed the link.

This one's fine. From urbandharma 'open source'... http://www.urbandharma.org/pdf/Shobogenzo.pdf

Belief is just wishful thinking with its own publishing house and/ or website. There are as many paths as there are travellers. Beware map vendors.

+1 There's some similarity too. No self. No 'real' MoPai. Could be twins. -

Please reserve me a place on that course. There's a skill that I want to learn! -
Welcome to TTB pgreenjazz. Musicians make great cultivators, there's that innate discipline it took to learn their instrument. That's transferable. Weird thing is that some top musician-cultivators are or were bass players. Brad Warner ( Hardcore Zen author) for one example. George Watson ( TM-related) is another.

http://www.taichifinder.co.uk/classes/83-ireland Sure to be something going on near you. Good luck. QiGong is a great cultivation. The word.. Cultivation is a catch all term for the stuff we do. Martial Arts Meditation taiChi QiGong Etc. ' Cultivation' is just shorthand for it all. Hope that helps. ( My old mum hailed from Tralee and I've loads of cousins there yet).

Not sure about energy work slowing down scar tissue lividity but I do know from experience that some scars take ages to lose lividity and on some parts of the body they never really blend in. That can also depend on skin 'type' as well. I have an abdominal scar from surgery in Falklands War years ago it's still a faded reddish purple, not 'angry' red but still very distinct from the surrounding skin. Thing is that scar tissue is something different from regular skin so it looks and acts differently.
