Dietary changes for those attempting celibacy
90_1494798740 replied to Cameron's topic in General Discussion
During summer I was training for for a running competition. Apart from doing some unconventional training (tabata workouts are great!). I was also experimenting with my diet. Protein and meat is definitely much better than it's reputation. It's the mixture of high carbs and protein that is the culprit. Sugar Affects Sex Hormones Quality meat and fish, vegetables, nuts, seeds, good oils and some fruit is the way to go. This way you avoid also feeding the three worms. -
Living in the Present Moment(NOW) Thread

Even the whole practice of Kunlun is very zen-like/moment centered. You get into the posture and sitt still - no imagination/actualization of the channels, no guidance of the chi. Just sitting in the here and now which can be quite boring for the monkey mind. -
What a synchronicity. I just wanted to post something on synchromysticism. One of Jake Kotze's blog can be found at: The Brave New World Order. A more chaotic source is: Synchromystic Librarian.

Thanks, Mantis! Very nice summary of the symbolism of alchemy/cultivation in different traditions - the power of KAN & LI revealed, so to speak

How does one distinguish between ghost/demonic like cultivation and proper cultivation? Can you be more specific?

You described it exactly as it is. You don't feel tired at all. If you feel tired and the urge to sleep, you go to bed, sleep for a very short time (usually between 2-4 hours) and get up up again (even after being out all night). The hardest thing is to overcome the conditioning we have to get enough sleep. You are always waiting for the crash down or prefer to stay in bed (just in case) - staring at the ceiling. The most striking thing about Kunlun is the enormous amount of energy you acquire. It's not like most Chi Kung systems that help you to reduce stress. So you are tired and practice some Chi Kung. After the practice you usually feel more relaxed and energetic - but still feel kind of tired at the same time (at least my experience). If I do a full session of Kunlun (10 min visualization, 1 hour Kunlun I and (at least) 20 min closing down) I feel fresh like after a good night's sleep - even though I have been down before. You have more energy but it's less sexual than for example the Deer Exercise or some form of Hatha/Kundalini Yoga. It feels very subtle, like water (full of potential). Still, I have the impression that you get used to the energy somehow. Doing Kunlun every second day or reducing the practice time to a quarter of an hour seems to bring my sleeping cycle a little bit more to normal. Just doing the closing down (the Kunlun way) seems already to refresh my energy. I do it if I have a strict schedule and want to do some form of Chi Kung. So much for mixing ... We are probably both blind - thanks to Kunlun

You definitely need less sleep. It seems to be an inverse relation. The more time you invest in your Kulun practice the less sleep you need. I reduced my practice time. Going to sleep at midnight and getting up again at 2 o'clock is a little bit too extreme for my taste ...

That's interesting. The counterpart in Chinese mythology would be the fox spirit (Huli jing).

I can't relate to this critical judgement. My own expericence is that the closing down in Kunlun has a cooling and grounding effect. The chi is stored properly and you don't have any weird energy running around in your system. That's something I have only succeded with moving forms before. I didn't have any extreme experience at all - so far. It's more stillness meditation than anything else. The energy feels very subtle, but is still very powerful. Lack of energy is no issue anymore. The heat reminds me more of condensing water/steam than of burning fire. Just my personal two cents ...

Very funny video! You should get the message without understanding the text ...

Think also of of a revision of the description of the method. I'm not quite sure about the footwork in Kunlun II. Some additional pictures showing the transitions might help. Agreed, I'm also very curious about Red Phoenix!!! Yet, balancing the 5 elements is always a good idea - espeacially before going to sleep.

Focus on Kunlun, not on celibacy! Just do the practice and the rest comes naturally.

Don't overdo it at the beginning (or you won't be sleeping for some days/nights; one hour of practice may already be far too much to begin with) and don't forget the closing down. Omitting that or ignoring the recommended length is certainly foolish. The warm up visualization seems to be pretty important, too (espeacially without the transmission). There is no absolute safty neither in life nor in spiritual practices. Just think of Gopi Krishna's story. Use your common sense and don't be too scary at the same time ... but it might still happen that a plane is falling on your head.

Yes, the 'health & happiness' point is really the most striking part and should definitly be emphasized more. I have done 'Kulun I' for around a month now. Only form the book, without the transmission. I have a lot of energy and are constantly in a good mood. I'm also witnessing some astonishing changes concerning my health/body. I will probably comment on this in few months. Just to see how things really develop. The first time I looked at the website I was fascinated and repelled at the same time. To much show, so to speak. Only Cameron's 'Top 5' brought my attention back to Max and Kulun. That's why I invested the few bucks on the book - just to satisfy my curiosity. ... still curious how my investment develops.

Observations on Kunlun Nei Gung practice
90_1494798740 replied to Smile's topic in General Discussion
I have nothing special to add but I have never felt more grounded and relaxed and positive before - confronting the ups and downs of life! It's more a stillness meditation. I have only experienced some movement of the feet. That's really a good idea! My feet don't seem to be used to the posture/movements and it's already getting colder outside. A warm-up might be exactly the right thing to do. The Seven Power Exercises have always been my preferred way of integrating the back/spine. -
Isn't this a general issue? Should we distinguish between messenger and message? Is it even possible and advisable to do so? Is there any "master" who is not controversial to some extent and has some flaws or doesn't fit in our specific picture of an enlightend being? Most schools/masters/techniques discussed on this forum don't produce agreement at all but (hot) debates and different results for different people. Most life's topics are controversial, e.g. food, sex, medicine, religion, relationships ... science and escpecially statistics and opinion polls ;-). Yes, most things in life are not only controversial but also dangerous! Living in a house implies the possibility to die in the next earthquake. Driving in your car to work could kill you. Starting a relationship can end in an emotional and financial desaster ... There is no guarantee - not for success and not for failure. You can't foresee all possible outcomes. Yes, you have to be cautious and use your common sense but you can also overdo it. At some point you simply have to make a choice. Leave it because you have decided for yourself that it is not worth the effort/risk or take it - and be aware that you might not like the outcome!

Thanks for the nice clarification!

I'm actually only working with the book right now and give it a try. If there is a workshop somewhere in Europe I'm going to participate. I feel less tired during the day and much more grounded in general. The energy feels much more subtle to me than in most other systems I have practiced before - probably something different after the transmission!?.

Strangely enough no one has brought it up before: entities . That's defenitely something we have to consider - at least as taoists and open minded people that consider every aspect of an issue. There is an article on Gary Graig's EFT Homepage: EFT, Entity Release and a computer smut addiction. That article definitely resonates with me for several reasons. It brings up some old memories as a child and young teen that might have been entity related. I practiced Hatha Yoga at a very young age. I got some very interesting results and some quite annoying ones (jing stealing, entities!?). One of these experiences really gave me the creeps again during treatment. I have never had such an extreme release of stress and fear with EFT or any other tool before! Some of my major issues could be linked to entities. What about changing the focus more to (or open a new thread): "Addictions/Bad Habits and Neural Pathways/Psychological Reversal/Entities" Discuss!

A good start might be Reuniting. I found the articles about the Over-Sexed Society and Three Myths about Porn quite interesting.

An interesting article about our brain: The Brutish Brain ...
