I have read the book - long time ago. You don't find more background information in it!
-
Having nearly finished the first week, I would say that it'll take you around half an hour each day. The 15 minutes are not realistic, if you want to do it right!
-
I meant my humble self!

Already up for it. Nice that you're joining! I'm rereading Yudelove's first "100 Days" book at the moment. There are so many details hidden in both books. Take for example Yudelove's version of the Inner Smile. Like for example "Smiling into the Eyes" as a preparation for the Inner Smile ( - corners of the eyes = heart / love / fire - pupils = kidneys / softness and wisdom / water - irises = liver / kindness / wood - white parts = lungs / courage / metal - eyelids = spleen-pancreas / openness / earth) or Ming Men Breathing (one of the obviously most important points in alchemy).

It's on page 137. It's called: LEVEL III - MEDITATION FOR THE LOWER TRIANGLE. Hope that helps!

Taoist Practice and Relating to Others

Yudelove's books in order of appearance: 100 Days To Better Health, Good Sex & Long Life: The emphasis lies in opening the Microcosmic Orbit (or Golden Flower). Taoist Yoga and Sexual Energy; Internal Alchemy and Chi Kung: Has an interesting mixture of practices; ends with an interesting variant of Fusion I and the God and Goddess exercise. Tao & The Tree Of Life: Very interesting book, but not a workbook. The practices (Kan Li) are not described in detail. The books are translated in many languages by the way.

This is my whole intention with "TaoMagic" - to follow Yudulove's two workbooks. I'm still working with the first book (my time schedule is quite different , but I decided to integrate everything more or less in my daily routine which takes time). On the other hand I feel quite stuck with it at the moment (I have been thinking of a change for some time) and as the Microcosmic Orbit and Inner Smile are something I have been doing for years now I don't think that something speaks against going on with the alchemical stuff. How about following it together? We could start next week or even earlier! This might be by far more motivating than doing it alone (which might be the reason for being stuck and we could exchange tips and experience). What about the others, like Sean and Yoda ... I know that they are really fascinated by Yudelove's stuff. This might be a great possibility to check out Yudelove's stuff together! Taobums, what do you think? Let's get started!

Thank you neimad for that nice poem! It came directly at the right moment! Well, that's something I still have to learn - I'm at least trying. So, it's probably time to get really into Fusion. I'm really fed up with that snobbish and arrogant behaviour of not only but especially Scandinavian girls (sorry for the generalization; it's my monkey mind speaking) who really don't seem to appreciate a polite and honest advance. Good manners and good looks seem to be mutually exclusive! The coldness and darkness in winter are less worse than the obvious darkness of some hearts here! Or is there a connection? Still trying to understand and on the way to detachment ... Thank you for that thread - to both of you! Still in icy waters!

Hi Sean, is it possible that the blogs aren't reachable anymore after the domain change? I get the following directory warning for my blog: Warning: chdir(): No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/taobums/public_html/forum/blog/isvatn/index.php on line 6 This applies also to the other blogs. I know that most people don't use their blog anymore, but I still use it to sum things up.

I find this theory also very far-fetched and agree totally with Yoda. It sounds like an excuse for not knowing why e.g. those marathon runners died so suddenly. Probably natural science has to look for the truth some more time ...

Funny, just wrote something in my blog about running ...

I found a good introduction to taoist energy work which covers a lot of aspects in a short but precise manner: MacRitchie, James: Chi Kung. Energy For Life. An introduction to the art of cultivating your energy. Thorsons, London, 2002. It covers the Inner Smile, ... , The Micro-/Macrocosmic Orbit, The Eight Extraordinary Vessels, ... , Building a Pa Kua, ... The part on Sexual Chi Kung is very small (Testicle/Ovarian Breathing). It has a chapter on Social Chi Kung (babies, kids, elderly people). The section on how to integrate energy work in your everyday life is also quite interesting - and something you usually don't find in other works.

The new Personal Practice Discussion setup
90_1494798740 replied to sean's topic in Forum and Tech Support
I like them both - the blog area and the practice discussion area. What I like in the blog area is the way each entry is presented. You have the calendar (the whole menue is quite nice) at the right side for orientation and are able to give each new entry a category. Apart from that it has a nice design / presentation of the blog (sorry, but I'm fixated on design - I know!) But that's probably also the reason why I like this site so much - not to mention the (usually) nice discussion and information given here! The possibility to create new threads and have more power over the practice discussion area (deletion, polls) is the big advantage of the practice discussion. I like the new possibilities of structuring. I would like a combination of the given preferences / advantages I have just given - that's the reason why I still update my blog from time to time. I'm happy and thankful to be able to use this forum to create my own version of TaoMagic (after the disappearance of Yudelove's home page into nothingness). My own blog / practice discussion has one big advantage - I'm not only reading other's experience, but much better: I'm practicing, too ! -
I found a very funny parody religion: The Pastafarians Well, the ways of the Tao ...

Sounds interesting. A good starting point might be "Tan Tien Breathing" (as opposed to Ming Men Breathing; Hagar's post about these two points confirms their importance to Sexual Kung Fu; had the same insight after experimenting for the first time with Sexual Kung Fu; practice is really the key; a lot of insights come naturally when exercising), but I think the reason why the spine is used first is that it helps you to balance the energy better (the intensifying effect on the emotions). The way up the spine and down the front channel is considered the better choice (first to the higher centers and then to the solar plexus; is stated somewhere in Chia's Taoist Secrets of Love. Cultivating Male Sexual Energy or one of Winn's articles - I think). On the other hand you can also run the Orbit up the front channel and down the back channel (find it even easier sometimes than vice versa) - why shouldn't that be done with jing chi, if you balance the the emotions with the Healing Sounds and/or Fusion Practice or whatever practice? Might be worth trying. Just my humble thoughts ... the sperm masters might have more to say!

Apart from that I would eat millet gruel with some steamed vegetables.

Begin with a teaspoon and go on with a tablespoon (of cold-pressed high quality oil). You have to get used to it - control the reflex to throw up or to swallow. The oil in your mouth can really feel strange in the beginning. It's really a question of practice (but if you're used to saliva practices, it's quite easy). You'll get used to the oil. Never swallow the stuff (in terms of chi it would be like ingesting bad chi again). Clean your oral cavity throughly afterwards: brush your teeth and clean your tongue. You'll probably get a running nose as a cleaning reaction. The cleaning of the auditory canal is not so obvious, but I experienced a production of more wax for quite some time. The time frame for good health results: around 3 - 6 months (up to one year). Cleaning reactions can be monitored probably after some weeks of diligent practice. All depends on your body and your condition. Do it in the morning. No drinking or eating beforehand. If the oil and saliva you're spitting out is watery and white (not yellow anymore), you have practiced long enough (10-30 minutes; it depends). Don't only chew the oil, pull it through the teeth (like in the saliva practices). Work with the oil and saliva in your mouth. You can do it several times a day (same rules apply; should be quite some time after the last meal). Don't overdo it at the beginning. Start with the morning practice. That's usually more than enough. I usually do it while preparing for the day. It doesn't consume extra time while sitting on the toilet and taking a morning shower. Have patience! Try it! And don't forget to monitor and share your experience.
-
The descriptions I know said that it's done indirectly, not only the oral, but also the nasal cavity and the auditory canal are activated / cleaned through the oil and the chewing movement.
-
I do , but I use the oil differently. Look in my blog under "Scandinavian Chi Kung". It's really a good thing to keep one's nose clean.

The article, I just mentioned in the pornography discussion thread, by Anqelique Serpent "Magical Ethics: The Power of Thought" has also some nice thoughts with respect to (love) relationships:
-
Found just another input to the pornography discussion on the pages of the Kundalini Support Network. It's an article by Anqelique Serpent: Magical Ethics: The Power of Thought. I think the whole article is worth reading - it brings up so many topics. The part about about pornography reads like this:

Interesting article!

Stretching the arms out like if somebody is pulling is the best way to do it. Facing West seems to have the best result in terms of energy. The ionic streams of the atmosphere move also westwards. They penetrate the body always and energize it. Facing West leaves them less resistance (the back facing East) to penetrate nerves, meridians and the Kundalini in the spine. The postures should be relaxing. Use good old Abdominal Breathing.

Do the 6 postures of the Seven Power-Exercises. They look so harmless, but holding them much longer than 10 breaths will really show you any stiffness and imbalance of your back and finally fix it ... Just try it for some time. They are certainly a good warm-up for much harder measures like wall walking!
