Forgive me, please. But as you can see many people benefited from FP having experience in other systems. And here almost everyone doing something else alongside with FP: yoga, tantra or TCC. Sifu Terry recommends TCC as good addition to FP! Just want to share... Today I have posted about FP and BFP on a yoga and qigong thread on another (not in english forum) and mentioned about these systems having said it is high level yogic system and different from diluted yoga and qigong known in the West. One guy who replied was very crude and called this system as Chinese crap and mix of stuff because FP was created by Feng Tao Te while traveling in Tibet and India. And that chinese people are masters of stealing arts from other traditions. There are so many cruel people. Sad

To be more precise there are: In Natha Sampradaya the yoga practice is presented by a mantra-yoga, hatha-yoga, laya-yoga and raja-yoga, as well as аshtanga-yoga (Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi) Hatha-yoga Following methods enter into hatha-yoga: sukshma -vyayama, shat-karma (cleaning technics such as netti, basti, nauli, trataka, kapalabhati), asana (steady position of a body), pranayama (the control of vital energy over respiratory exercises), mudra ("stamp") and bandha (muscular "lock"). These methods inter-direct a stream of a prana in the central Sushumna channel and contribute to awakening of sleeping spiritual power (Kundalini Shakti) which rises upwards on the central channel and joins with supreme-consciousness (Shiva). This union of spiritual energy and consciousness is called hatha-yoga. There are many definitions of term the "hatha-yoga" in classical Nathas' texts, some of them belowed: Surya-Chandra, Prana- Аpana, Dakshina-Vama, Yamuna-Ganga, Ida -Pingala, Shiva-Shakti, Kula-Akula, Dvayta -Advayta, etc. The ultimate goal of hatha -yoga is realized by total unity of contrasts and attainment of ideal balance (samarasya). So sukshma -vyayama, shat-karma (cleaning technics such as netti, basti, nauli, trataka, kapalabhati), asana (steady position of a body) follow by pranayama And I suppose we have our own asana and pranayama in Flying Phoenix Celestial Healing Chi Kung
  4. To me, making the heart to work even just a little bit harder is not ideal for the heart. The ideal condition is to make the heart beats slower and pumps more blood at one complete heartbeat cycle According to your logic even walking is no good at all. How long can you stand in low horse stance? Five minutes? Is it enough training for the heart conditioning?

As far as I know that bandhas are recommended after couple years of asana and pranayama. Pranayama and asana should go alongside Nadi Shodhana is recommended even by Ayurveda for cleansing gross and subtle bodies and for soothing and bringing doshas back to balance. Probably I did to much and much energy is not always good. Anyway I am not going to mix up this stuff. As it might be different ways with different approaches and body might need to adjust to the process. The more processes the more stress for the body

Steve, actually I tried already to do pranayma breath along with FP and I mentioned that before. I quit doing pranayama as I felt little agitated. I dont know why, may be there were some other factors... Anyway i felt like it was diff energies. It is more subtle one from this qigong. And pranayam is kinda gives more gross feeling afterwards.
  7. Vegan Diet

I used to fast for 24-36 hours few years ago but not anymore. Just don't feel comfortable with fast. I like to practice in the mornings and evenings and food is kinda prize for me. It grounds me. I am vata dosha and if i have empty stomach i get agitated a little. But sometime I eat less during day or only drinking milk or tea for 24 hours
  8. Vegan Diet

too fast cleansing can be harmful. there is gut and stomach flora which have been built for decades of animal protein consumption. and if you suddenly halt taking it than it can be bad for your body. body does not like sudden changes.

Also there are bandhas in yoga to activate chakras and central channel and thus to rise the Kundalini. Recently I wanted to add some asanas and nadi shoddhana pranayma plus bandhas to my practice. Is it okey to do half hour nado shoddhana before FP? It is alternate nostril breath with some breath retention
  10. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

FP seems to work more with chakras rather than with tan tiens. I wonder how FP is compatible with yoga pranayamas. I want to stress this issue actually and I would like to hear Sifu Terry opinion on this please. In yoga they say of importance of pranayamas for cleansing energy body and thus to calm the mind. They say it is must before any meditation happens to be natural. I know FP works in it's own way but I like yoga too and may be there is way to have benefits out of combining these 2 yogic methods.
  11. Recently I stumbled upon an article with this title in Ya Mu's blog. The article says that and and So doing the taichi form (or any other IMA form ) one creates karma? What does it mean to "practice neigong alongside the tai chi and integrate these energetics inside the movements"? As far as I know there is neigong in any internal MA and an IMA form is neigong for itself. How does it create karma? I think that only certain intention creates karma if you want to harm somebody but IMA forms can be done as a form of qigong (neigong).
  12. On Tai Chi & Qigong; Are They the Same?

And I forgot to mention there is taichi qigong method of cultivation in taichi quan. I have book and video on it. It is transmitted by Stuart Alve Olson. Also he teaches seated baduanjin which is alchemical method. Taichi Qigong is short method of qigong with 21 movement. Similar to eight brocades a little but different. Movements are done in coordination with breath. It should be done along with taichi form. So taichi chuan is probably complete path if done correctly in traditional way.
  13. This HS is stressful for knees. Protector, which HS you would recommend? I do HS as part of my qigong method. But people want to know about cardio exercises in this thread. But thank you for reminding us of HS importance. And thank you once again
  14. On Tai Chi & Qigong; Are They the Same?

I understand what you are saying. It what Ya Mu said that taichi is good calisthenics and opens and regulate channels. But as you mentioned FP I personally would do FP shorts and long forms. I already began doing short FP form. Better to concentrate on something one. And I do taichi form sometime. Sifu Terry says it is good to combine FP with Taichi as they are very compatible.
  15. On Tai Chi & Qigong; Are They the Same?

It is prepartory what Wang Liping teach, what he teach puplic doesnt lead to immortality it is to lay a foundation Friend, are you serious? You see... People buy it because they have nothing to compare with. And some people use ignorance of other people. All what you are saying about "quieting heart" and "think what you can give to teacher and not to receive" and "next life"... Methods of immortality teach how to get enlightenment in one life span. These are methods of "ming" and "xing" cultivation. Not all methods are the same. Qigong cultivates only xing. Quieting the heart by cutting thoughts is qigong method. So you say to pay 3000 $ for one seminar to learn qigong method which you can get from a book. You can do it, I do not mind. But this is not for me. I have paid already thousands $$$ for such methods. I know there are some sects who teach xing cultivation first. Does WL teach ming methods? But honestly I don't care. I won't pay this price anyway. I would attend one of the Wu Liu Pai seminars just for 40 $ and they teach ming methods straightaway. If you wish to pay 3000 $ for watching how somebody does tricks with coins it is your right and your karma. Not mine
  16. On Tai Chi & Qigong; Are They the Same?

No Eugene, he is overexpensive yes but he is absolutely no fraud, he is a real deal, I expirienced Qin Ling and she gave me and Kronos a hard time on the same place. The charged coins by Wang Liping as meditation help for the teachers are allowed by me to use and I expirienced that it is very very very ,,,, very dangerous and these are only coins, so the person much be more than this. Ok, I can admit he has some skills. But to pay this price for... what? I did not understand what you mean by "charged coins". What is the evidence of high level mastery in it? Because it is dangerous? I just saying that there are many systems and arts and you can not do all of them. I can not criticize Taichi or any other IMA. All of them are good on some side but there are so many factors that we must regard ALL these factors. Is it qigong or alchemy? Does it cultivate prenatal or postnatal qi? Many IMA use qi for fighting and it is kinda attached karma I suppose. But other systems nourish your internal qi. If one likes taichi it's okey, I do not mind. I would do wuji primordial qigong rather than diluted taichi what they teach in the most cases
  17. On Tai Chi & Qigong; Are They the Same?

No everthing is need Neikung. They have Kotodama and Mushin and that is enough to touch the Tao, one still devlop Aiki and can fight in old age. There is no energy cultivation the access is directly Mu, the emptiness - more I am not allowed to tell about these things except to get this things shown is rare I don't know which lineage you refer to. My sensei only mentioned that there is Kotodama and when I asked him about that he said nothing back to me, he just had nothing to reply. I stand it is not internal MA or I admit it is half way internal MA. I do not know what is Kotodama exactly but there are so many other IMA and Taoist cultivation systems that I asked myself what was the point to learn that. How one can call it MA if people after 10 years of training have no ability really defend themselves if it happens to fight. I know they say that they teach how escape fighting and I agree with this but it is too slow method of cultivation and I did not understand what is the method of cultivation. You see where I am coming from... When I left my first sensei for another one just to see the difference I was shown that almost everything was WRONG in application and he showed exactly why it was wrong. Second sensei has REAL experience in contact MA but first one was saying he is bad teacher and teaches diluted aikido. This is just example how it is easy to be confused in this stuff if you don't understand application of real MA. They will say a lot about how they good but in reality it is kinda fiction. And Kotodama does not do anything special for me to engage in it. There are many other methods even in IMA like bagua or wing chun and I am more interested in these arts. But one needs much time and efforts for the art to gain benefits. It is the question of time you spend for it. To train 10 years to learn Kotodama... I do not know. May be somebody just likes it but... if it happens to fight aikidoka has small chances against good boxer. This is just my opinion and in no way I want to offend other people. Both of my former senseis are in most direct lineages after O'Sensei and I have doubts somebody knows Kotodama and it's real application.
  18. Vegan Diet

and If it CAN replace then why not to replace it and start cleansing not waiting until you are on certain level? Too much cleansing is bad I presume
  19. Vegan Diet

Can you elaborate why I should not try to cleanse myself right now and wait until.... And why plants protein can not replace the same amino-acids of animal protein?
  20. Vegan Diet

Can anybody elaborate here why plant protein powders can not replace animal protein intake? I have read Ya Mu's blog where he advices to take mix of organic soy milk and whey protein. I am not sure that soy milk is healthy to be honest but would like to give it a try. (Or mix cacao drink with organic soy protein plus a dose of plants protein powder). These "mixtures" have all vitamins including b12. I have been taking organic raw plants mix in powder for a while and I eat cheese sometime and feel no bad at all. What could possibly go wrong with it?
  21. On Tai Chi & Qigong; Are They the Same?

You have to go to China, find them and shoot and see who is more cool. If they allow this. Lol
  22. On Tai Chi & Qigong; Are They the Same?

Dorian, stick with WP manual and LOL! Mo Pai authentic? Can you bring Mo Pai authentic scriptures to the world? I am registered on Wu Lui Pai forum for years and I know everything what it is discussed there for years. They have authentic teacher and they do not believe that sitting is correct method of cultivation. As it was criticized by many Taoist masters such as Chang Po-tuan and immortal Lu Dongbin. Please read authentic sources if you are referring to classical Taoism. That is why they call WP qigong self proclaimed master
  23. Vegan Diet

As for acid / alkaline... There should be balance. If you go only veggie it will make you alkaline sooner or later. That is why they suggest eat a little of animal products. But I believe that vinegar must help. Every morning drink water with little of vinegar.
  24. Vegan Diet

What is the classical Taoism? It is only metaphor! Grain to be meant as food in general i.e. eat less. It is one of the sense of the metaphor. Second one is that not to fall in mundane world of passion and so on... I have read good article on this where was explained that this is only metaphors. Yes, grains do some harm. But it is such grains as white rice and wheat. Avoid it. All other grains must be soaked in the water prior to cooking.
  25. On Tai Chi & Qigong; Are They the Same?

Which monks or Chinese school transmitters you talked about WP? People often want to believe what they want to believe. If somebody wrote nice book about WP it does not mean it must be TRUE. And I am done about WP.
