I have lost my "big" certainties like I'm no more certain of what is important, if any at all. I am without a doubt the most powerful person in my life. Emotions are deep beautiful complex and archaic. Don't get lost into. Humor and seriousness are really interdependent. One goes deep to the core but too much of it and you dry yourself, the other fluctuate in lightness around but lack of density. To be serious heaviness on my step, smiling lightness at the top of my crown and still exist in between.

Once again, it's not because I express an opinion that I experience some personal trouble with it. It's going on and on here this kind of belittling. To make it clear, I work (even 2 jobs see ?) I'm not wealthy but rich enough to cover my needs, those of my daughter and I spend every year good money to learn Tai Chi. So be sure I deal with it... Religion and spirituality are that too, but not only. I agree more than you could believe with you ahah except money and basically capitalism are systems you're satisfied with, I don't. Of course... you are witnessing the effects of wining and losing, but it's the same game. Losing or wining what ? That's another question. This game, this race for "success" "wealth" is causing earth to be less and less suitable for all forms of life. Now crime... which kind ? basic violence you get punished for or the others ? Like wars on resources, power abuses (all kinds they are legions), high class corruption, etc etc

I agree with that. I know I focused on our disagreement and I agree that a relative comfortable living helps a lot. Try cultivation or anything without sleep... going to be rough. That money can provide but ultimately there is no need of money to obtain that. Primarily money a tool to collect power beyond needs and it certainly doesn't reflect one's value. It offers someone an opportunity to drain and gain power from/on society. If the society has sick will, ill needs and crazy values what does your money reflects ? I constantly observe that people that cover our most important needs go without reward for it.

You must be kidding

Because of the utmost importance of alternating phases and because absence gives value to presence... I propose to close the website 3 days a week !

Agreed ! I played a bit then you played me... fair enough

It's a good one but rather unfair... slow down Rene Even if I found the initial idea interesting that thread started as a joke and I have no will to enact anything. That axiom I have figured -thank you- and its limits too. Human kind started genocide even before it was mentioned, diseases happened before cures... remember plague ?
-
My perspective yes, my personal trouble absolutely not. Does someone has to be ill to search for a cure ?
-
@Kar3n @rene it's interesting to note that each time I bring some reflection here people think about it in term of personal trouble.
-
It a proposition I don't expect to be applied. So it's more of a joke Yes about self-control. But self-control is the application of a personal choice. A democratic rule is a choice that apply to everyone to the benefit of everyone (in theory), that's very different and doesn't have the same effects.

it does look like a brain, doesn't it ?

Leds emit is actually pure blue light through a layer of phosphor which produce a wider light spectrum. Has that thin layer a durability comparable to the chip ? I hardly find information about that. More generally, what do you think about LEDs ?

You're very welcome Cheya

This is sunlight spectrum a sea level. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/27/Spectrum_of_Sunlight_en.svg

My concern towards the durability of the phosphor layer is that blue light is harmful to the skin and the eyes and modify the circadian rhythm. Blue is a frequency (450−495 nm), it gives your body an information. Phosphor helps providing a wider spectrum yet a blue dominance remain. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light-emitting_diode#/media/File:White_LED.png https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incandescent_light_bulb#/media/File:Spectral_power_distribution_of_a_25_W_incandescent_light_bulb.png I have been testing them lately and once you put attention on it and compare different kinds of lamps I feel light coming from LEDs cold and uncomfortable. The 2700 kelvins feels OK as a coloration but it doesn't provide a warm feeling as light generally provides. When you receive light from the sun, you receive light and heat. Wood fire too, a candle too. With these old bulbs too. Not with leds : the minimal heat coming from a led is not from a lighting process but induced by a driver transforming electricity. Maybe it's just because I'm used to heat dissipation maybe it's because I associate blue with death but I have definitely a preference for the incandescent lights. I'm ok to use them but not anywhere anytime... Not in my room, not close range and certainly not before sleeping. Now about long term health effects, psychological effects, as we are testers nobody knows. Probably nothing critical for health, just another slight separation from nature.

John Chan did light up leds too ?!

Pros, cons ? Views ? I'm mostly against in case of babies. It creates a contracture -both because of the spine and to concentration of aluminum- that may imbalance the flow durably. At very young age maybe not a great idea... Baby's vaccination is a serious dilemma for anybody believes in acupuncture and more generally energy flows. Passed the first years... I'd consider it as less damaging. As always it's important to consider micro and macro. I mean, a wise individual choice can be a calamity for a larger group. It hit me yesterday talking with my grand dad... there has been something like 107 billions living humans in totality. 7 billions presently living. The 2 last generations have been the first the meet their grand grand parents in a significant proportion. Incredible time.

The "it's a can of worms". More precisely what you mean by that ?
-
I deeply agree with Rene. As you know what you say clearly is going counter flow here, so your position is per se hard to hold but clearly it adds something to the very minimum, it creates a debate. I don't ask you to stay to play the red devils advocate but instead I suggest you to avoid the idea of convincing anyone... Why people think what they think in most cases is beyond intellect, beyond their life, beyong their generation. Play the game for the beauty or the fun you can find in it. Ultimately, nobody is right, it's a process, a moving form.

Why is north that important in daoist practices ?
