I have been reading his book Embryonic Breathing for 8 months. It last because it's boring in the way it's written, many many repetitions... boring but interesting, the guy is a scholar with a large background practice and seems to be very serious in his study. Honest also, he says he doesn't masterize all what he promotes. I enjoy to find traduction of old alchemical books. I'll keep reading.

Thoughts... I know projections from what it is/will be possible to do are scary. We certainly will encounter disasters in this century, a challenge for the north while south will probably face horror. The dominant decrease that's what happen. For most of us a drama, for the vital life force an adjustment. Gift of sperm is still the actual method to handle infertility and it has nothing to do with trans-humanism. I believe that spiritual-educational transmission is predominant. Complexity, add-ons, specification and more globally, relying on technology rather that sane simplicity and autonomy creates weakness at the core. Will the ultimate artificial patchwork succeed ? not so sure. What did I inherit ? What do I want to transmit ?

"All modern men who complain about modern women being all wrong would have to reincarnate as women thousands of times to find out why." I wonder about how reversible this sentence is. Like, is the human person naturally an abuser ? Is it linked to that conscience of suffering that it's kind of double pain ? Are we that twisted/cursed or is it the price to pay to get the will of finding something further/closer/else (depends on your religion). Abyss of reflection ! Anyway that's so, so true. There is something really beautiful in the conversation that happened here. We have come to a moment in human history it's possible to read this, that's not brand new yet it moves me deeply inside as a witness. -

We are 65 millions, among us 25% are immigrate or descendant of immigrated parents and among the "old" french there are many regional cultures so I could not describe an average french. I can't tell for your friend but I'd say rare are the people that don't look for reciprocity in matter of relationship. Some are meticulous, sure That's a cement you can't ignore if tribal life is based on an immediate survival necessity... and if you're in a tribe without reserve you look for solidarity. I agree with the distinction you made. I haven't been in Africa but I met plenty of people coming from there seems like tribal life still has some motivations, blood and practical necessities... and affect the personality. Remember me of an old lady mumbling "to valorise volontary work... to valorise volontary... but before we just gave a hand and that was it (normal)" . -

No no I did not say that. We are humans, some very social animals so being completely sufficient with yourself is a particularity. It depends ... is it autistic tendency or spiritual elevation, or an autistic tendency magnified in spirituality ? xD -

Maybe they did not call because they were poor but I think it's more cultural. All the people I know that grew up in north Africa act the same, I mean as in a "tribe" you're supposed to be welcome, why would you call. "pour accéder aux plats et aux palabres y a pas de sonnette, à peine une porte, y a des cloisons que les effets du passage rendent obsolètes" "to accede meetings and dishes there is no bell, barely a door, people passing makes walls obsolete" -

In french could be "entouré". Same as being surrounded but meaning feeling surrounded by close benevolent people, a pack, to have an entourage. Could say : I feel well "entouré". It's something that also comes with necessity, dig on how/why MS-13 was created ? any gang... actually, gypsy people or my old illegal migrant neighbors from Mongolia were also very communitarian. It comes with propositions you couldn't refuse. African frontiers that doesn't respect ethnies was one of the tools to prevent their autonomy, they still live that thing. That's exactly a tribal or ethical thing, it's still very alive as "entraide" is needed. In the country land in china the close/immediate family is not the nuclear (2+1 or 2+2) but is as minimal as your street, weeding, fest, funeral is your street thing. Once the need disappears the manifestation follows. Leaving the rigid world of necessity you enter the embarrassing world of "choices". Actually I'm glad I'm not forced to have friends or "bros", so when I have it I know I have. To stick or not to stick with the family has been challenging enough. Another thing it doesn't help with is back-stab. As an effective remedy against loneliness I'd rather suggest dantian breathing. -

Hi, I'm very curious about how do you feel about your own country, your personal non-objective opinion... How would you define it ? What do you like or dislike in your culture ? For big countries it's welcome to focus (or not) on your region/state/land. Pictures, sounds, music are also very welcome. Let's make each us travel cheap

That's a very bitter sweet post. It mixed perfectly with Agnes Obel's music. Thanks

Ok my turn. My country... is great for postcards. Over a relatively small territory we have a nice variety of landscapes That one is very close to my city. Of course we have humans here. So, we have troubles too...

It's not related to stupidity but rather docility. A huge society needs people that accept and carry on a project they did not think about too much. See ant... or rats ! In the rat hierarchy they have leaders, exploited and autonomous. That's the form their lifestyle took to survive better. Imagine if in your country anyone had a strong opinion about how things do or should work and try on a tireless stubborn mode to convince others/impose it ? It could be incredibly interesting a maybe end up in great solutions at small scales but at larger scales it can't be very practical. Anarchist villages generally don't live long because saying I am right is more a matter of Ego than reason. You can be true on a practical yes/no problem but at the moment the discussion implies personal or cultural values (what defines us ?) it's no more about what's the best thing to do but who am I ? Who are we ? 95% of the people considers others are idiots. Lao Zi considered himself idiot.

Gathering the best expressions of different Tai Chi Chuan styles
CloudHands posted a topic in Systems and Teachers of
Hello Bums, I'd like to watch and compare the different Tai Chi old long solo forms. If the style has been created after the XIXth it doesn't qualify ! I expect participants to be aware about what they talk and post a video of an archetype of the style. So, to discourage easy posting, I'd like posters to provide a minimum of background information about what form it is and who does it. Every practitioner with a dedicated long run practice in the particular style is welcome to share his/her knowledge. I know that sound a little elitist and rigid but I don't wish this thread to be extensive with everyone posting his teacher's form. I mean... it's ok if your teacher is lineage holder ! That bejing said, it goes where it goes -

That is, referring to the Yang tradition, as carried by Yang Luchan->Yang Chien Hou->Yang Chengfu->Yang Sau Chung, the purest form you can find. I'm thankful for this video. I actually don't know much about Yang Chengfu. Has someone some knowledge or reliable sources about him ? -
