Hi TM, First I thank you because I think that you post out of pity for my soliloquy. There is for me only one humane specie I see no reason for that distinction, some people just outplay... in an intolerable way. But maybe when transhumanism will be more noticeable that will be more arguable... What are we talking about ? Money ? There is clearly a problem of redistribution of the wealth, of course but that's a very different problem. Na we talk about energy ! That's for instance the US consumption by sectors : https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/use-of-energy/ Do you really think that 1% of the population uses 99% of the energy consumption ? That makes no sense to me. Residential consumption only is already 21%, transport is mostly individual and for the rest mostly goods that the specie buy or material to create these goods..., industry is goods production, mostly for the population, commercial is... well you got it! I may have miss completely what you mean (two people seem to agreed with you so it may be...!), or you completely missed the point of the conference. Jancovinci provide a detailed analysis, basically he says that one way or another it will stop. We may avoid the worst stopping CO² emissions sooner but we can't stop CO² emission running after economical growth (PIB = GDP). -

I keep flying solo a little longer ! Given the fact that as specie we seem to do the maximum to deny/neglect the realness of the disaster of our "choices" -put aside the dramas- I think it's an interesting perspective that the human expansion/growth met its limits. -

I admit it's maybe (too) difficult to follow. If I had something similar in english I'd have it posted instead... but I haven't it. I'm sure there are and some people here are aware of the happening shift. It doesn't escape the fact that almost nobody post on these topics, because few want to know what's going on. Looks like few people are ready to see the uncertain future before it happens. It's not sexy nor fun or light, you might feel overwhelmed and disarmed thus... this is happening. We (human) are too numerous, fossil energy addicted and collectively our conscious level is terrible. So this will happen as a logical result. The covid which seem to scare many people -and sells million of firearms in the US- is nothing compared to what's waiting for us. I can take the infos, look at the future in the eyes even laugh at it. I (clumsily) shared a bit of that toxic datas (and probably over pushed it) as my share of that burden. Peace to all of you -

The result of a consistent and total substitution of lies for factual truth is not that the lie will now be accepted as truth, and truth be defamed as lie, but that the sense by which we take our bearings in the real world - and the category of truth versus falsehood is among the mental means to this end - is being destroyed. -

Of course, I don't expect everyone to watch it. But that no one had enough curiosity to try it wasn't expected either ! This man is a specialist in energetic resources. What he explains with a precision I never seen before is how we went to consider energetic resources as unlimited, the current evolution of our utilization, where it leads us. Science Po (politic) is an (french) elite institute of study and research in human science and international relationships but he's just a guest teaching a masterclass on his specialty. Surprisingly he's saying to these young lads how and why it's going to be hell on earth in the next decades and how our lives will be impacted. Collapsology is in the air but that's not the point here it's more like a detailed global energetic analyze. -

He talks about energy. Not personnel self related energy but earth energy. -
Dear Yueya, from my mind no arrow was fired. I took the opportunity to guess at someone's nature after reading a post related to that subject. Did I say something offending ? Did I draw a disgusting portrait ? I don't think so. I don't intend to heal or arm Steve, sometimes discussing things let us grow a little more but I don't pretend to teach or help or educate anybody in that thread and I specially think he doesn't need it. We never interacted much but it has always been made with cordiality and I always showed him respect and consideration. So I return you the question ! Why are you thinking I fired at him ? Guilty for that.
-
Guys that's nothing that spicy, most of us share that kind of personality to some extent. Steve asked and he's big enough to deal with an humble opinion No worries !
-
When I guess at someone I don't know (I don't pretend to know anyone I haven't met) I think it's better to consider my opinion as at least partially erroneous. Erroneous comes from the french word "erroné (erroneus)" which means "not exact". 50% of the english words came from french -not from latin as some pretend. I play a lot with that when I write in English because most of the time they are equivalent. Sometimes something is lost in translation... but it even happens within one language...
-
I did not read what was written before, I will do it later. The best (erroneous) feedback I can give you is the vocal tone I put on your writings. I read you with a very soft, rather low voice almost mellow. Like someone that reached some level of peacefulness through stubborn self control. I think you are very sensitive and you find with Buddhism a way to deal with it. Maybe a tad of cowardice ? So... not very lively and spontaneous but extremely steady and balanced. Also gentle and compassionate.

I don't know if you can put physical / emotional / financial / spirituals aspects of life on the same level. But you could have added some more dimensions like parenting, knowledge, sociability or creativity. I definitely think it's highly possible to be healthy and wealthy enough, emotionally balanced and have still one foot in spirituality. But I think it doesn't have as much to do with free will as you seem to think since the cards are dealt by a one handed man. Physical : mostly a genetic capital Emotional : mostly an educational variable Financial : I really don't know... I never took wealth as a personal aim but looking at the world distribution... not for everyone. Spiritual : I think spirituality and philosophy emerge when someone is sensible and unsatisfied enough. I mean you need to wonder and wander for that. It's very possible that materialistic and spiritual aims go sideways. There are plenty other qualities one can develop and sure you can't be everything. I remember a music teacher who taught us that you can't play every musical style at its higher level. At some point you have to specialize. I think any discipline we learn we learn automatisms. We learn to discharge ourselves from all the basic tasks in order to concentrate on what is important. Not how to walk but where do I go. Strangely taiji chuan is exactly the opposite. We need automatisms and we need to deconstruct them too : Do and Undo.

A week of suspension for a careless note ? I think that's overrating. -
Great question. There is an absolute necessity to separate two worlds : the world of scientific knowledge and the world of personal experience/beliefs. For the first one there is no absolute truth, everything is and must be questionable. There is only probability. When a fact is proved a certain number of times it is considered statistically valid. That's the way you put someone on the moon. For the second one (let's call it self-truth)... it's only up to personal conviction, belief. As people tend to (virtually) find what they want to find, we are prone to auto-validation/confirmation. This is a very natural/common way to behave and actually it limits us more than anything else. Often when one considers he's achieved this or that he could go further, deeper. I think it is very important not to rely on only one philosophy. Writings done by humans should not be considered sacred there is always a bias. the Dao De Jing was written before democracies, so its political sight is highly arguable. the US constitution was build by wealthy toward the right of individual possession, how fair and helpful on a larger scale it is is debatable.[/spoiler] Different philosophies often consider different layers of the reality that are additives, together they allow some depth. My understanding is that one source will not provide "everything" it can provide a kind of simplification or certainty for someone who is looking for it. And of course... same goes with personal experience. Occurrences of things, facts are not equally distributed : there are series so you can't expect to embrace a representative vision of the world at any moment. Plus, the individual himself is fully biased by his/her roots as well as his/her will. So the emptier you will be, the less bias you will have. and when empty will you still have an opinion about all that ? Should you have an opinion ? Maybe ! Layers !

Hi Kenzo ! martial art cultivation cultivate the spirit of the peaceful warrior, very few internal martial arts focus on practical/real situations. They mostly train to fight to not to fight. The benefits on health, internal understanding and inner peace are huge but it's certainly not the shortest way to learn how to handle a street fight. Otherwise real teacher/real student a winning couple.
