Teachers who accept money vs. teachers who teach for free
CloudHands replied to sillybearhappyhoneyeater's topic in Daoist Discussion
I get it. So yes we (I and generally people as I can observe) tend to idealize teachers and "realized" persons. I recall a conversation with a friend when I was a teen saying that people generally try to appear better, deeper, smarter, etc than they are. The perfect illustration of it are pictures, you keep the one you like your face. The interaction between what you thinkwant to be and what people expect you to be... when you are "just" someone that is more knowledgeable/a bit (or more) advanced on a path... hard to manage I guess. My teacher once somewhat summed the situation up : "If you had only one face, you'd be a robot". -

What do you mean by face ? -
What are the lessons you learned in your spiritual journey?

Hardenning things is a useful (necessary?) pragmatic choice but is -ultimately- a sign of weakness. Hardenned things haven't took there original form back. Face yourself in relation with your past, in relation with others and face others in relation with yourself. Then stop. You can learn a lot when difficulties show up, seize it. That's the picture you want to delete, the reality you don't want to see. If you can deal with it... GOOD. It's because it's difficult that it's valuable. Accurate trust is fluctuating. Don't take anything for certain or definite. Still, be confident/open enough to allow the light to show up. Cultivation helps a lot. Roots (in the broadest meaning) grow. We are not all on the same level, adapt to anybody. It's not because you think you are loose that the job is done. Still, you did the work.- 21 replies

That's a beautifull article, thank you for that, thus I think it get lost in the conclusion. Everything is right ? Yes Everything is ok ? No That's why we found a path, to walk.

My practice increase every year since I started 5 years ago and fluctuate somewhat with the seasons and conditions... My rule is not to do less than 1 hour of taiji a day and with meditation total time for an average week would be more than 15 hours including two or three days I got a course or collective practice. These last weeks I'm starting to work at night outside and I'm really enjoying it. Once you accept the challenge of obscurity, nothing like a closed park with big trees in a shutting down city.

"After the convention Hillary embarked on her yearlong senior thesis, on the topic of the Chicago community organizer Saul Alinsky. She has successfully persuaded Wellesley to keep this under lock and key, but Gerth and Van Natta got hold of a copy. So far from being an exaltation of radical organizing, Hillary’s assessment of Alinsky was hostile, charging him with excessive radicalism. Her preferential option was to seek minor advances within the terms of the system. She did not share these conclusions with Alinsky who had given her generous access during the preparation of her thesis and a job offer thereafter, which she declined." http://www.counterpunch.org/2015/04/13/the-making-of-hillary-clinton-2/

I'm sorry for being off topic but I think it's really funny. Alinsky did not join political parties. When asked during an interview whether he ever considered becoming a Communist Party member, he replied: Not at any time. I've never joined any organization—not even the ones I've organized myself. I prize my own independence too much. And philosophically, I could never accept any rigid dogma or ideology, whether it's Christianity or Marxism. One of the most important things in life is what Judge Learned Hand described as 'that ever-gnawing inner doubt as to whether you're right.' If you don't have that, if you think you've got an inside track to absolute truth, you become doctrinaire, humorless and intellectually constipated. The greatest crimes in history have been perpetrated by such religious and political and racial fanatics, from the persecutions of the Inquisition on down to Communist purges and Nazi genocide.[4] Do you mind to comment Brian ?

No rage it's just that you live one of the most less pro commie country... and you act kind of a caricature. That's what make me react because with all due respect I think you deserve to know it. Ws did do nothing ? oops. Before you say it for the third time or try to stick on me a new label... No I'm not a raging, young, emigrate, disingenuous, socialist that ignorate its past, etc. See I start to know your defense line.

I don't know why you spend time and effort trying to put dirt on that guy of little influence while the world is led by corporation and finance... Your house is burning and it looks like you are behind the window frightened watching for a dead bear.

Ahahah indeed...

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338135/ The whole movie is about that + the loss of "civilization". In a couple of words, debriefing and sharing time with loved ones.

Thanks for that. It was needed.

Shit you are talking CTs, I have no opinion... You know I'd relocate in USA for nothing in the world but if you think about US in regard of Brits and Turkish genocides... sounds almost decent. -

More seriously, I agree with thelerner, that's no big deal Clinton is nothing more than a pure politician dealing with the rise of Sanders. She will not be able to apply resolution she has no faith in and... until it get to you all and have the will to change your voting system, clean NAS CIA FBI and have a clearer idea of what's better for most your politic won't change much. Your goal and that's in your best immediate interest (let's admit you are middle class or more) stay ruling rather than fall. There have been by far worst empires... Even in the recent history. -
Great post. Can you define furthermore capitalistic competition with a social emphasis on sharing ?

I found this document interesting, I thought it could be helpfull. This man has been one of the few disciples of Yang Chengfu. He talks about the best way to do the form, jing, and plenty of anecdotes about its master.

It's an interview with Fu Zhongwen (in fact one of the 3 disciples of Yang Sau Cheung) and its son. I have reuploaded the file, I still had it on my HDD. Enjoy
