  2. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

Ok ! A man 75 Kg wants to cross a river. There is a bridge, and a warning "NO MORE THAN 100KG" The man walks on the bridge. At the middle the bridge crushes ! WHY ???
  3. Taiji fights

Yeah I agree ! Except it could turn a battlefield in something more enjoyable. Being able to be in opposition to something/one with no stiffness (because it can't help..), that's something close to realization.
  4. Taiji fights

Yes, that's very possible. On the same time it would lost what's most precious... the instrument of self growth, the day by day valuable gift and it would become just a "self-defense" MA among others. It's very important to be able to defend yourself but nothing can prevent you of everything. In the most dangerous playgrounds, social skills will work way better than MA skills. Live in the wrong neighborhood hit the wrong person, well no, not a good idea. My 2 cents.
  5. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

Ahah I knew that joke but with the local geography, maybe it's from Twain !
  6. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

understand me well, at some point you are either indifferent, you cry or you laugh... at a certain level of stupidity... I laugh. That's a form of self-defense, self-preservation. All well considered, it is no so different of people bragging on martial skillz after all...

Good story I do not question taiji's ability in fight. Certainly not the most straight forward system to learn -but effective I have no doubt about it, depending on the inclination of one's practice. I was truly interested in learning stories of taiji applied to street fights and one of my points is : violence in our world is much less physical than psychological nowadays, so physical fights are rather scarce. That's the beauty of this art you learn so much more than just fighting (if you do). Among plenty others you learn to move in a smart way, developing body's intelligence (call internal power, peng jing, ...).
  10. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

what is this ? answer yeah I laughed...
  11. Taiji fights

Consider yourself lucky for that. Or maybe you are an "escaper". Plus generally past the 30s people wise up or get softer.
  12. Taiji fights

  14. Taiji fights

    Best fight is no fight
  15. Taiji fights

Yep can be difficult to tell what technique is what system. But last time I had a fight (well it was 7 years ago...) I could tell. I took the pipa stance (taiji chuan) aaaand... jumped to to guy's head grabbed it and hit it twice with my knee (not so taiji... but efficient enough)
  16. Taiji fights

Although I'm not encouraging violence, I'm glad there is at least one bum that can attest of taiji's effectiveness. @Earl Grey did you have prior martial practices ? and if yes how much taiji took place in your fighting skills. I know you practice also another system now, what balance do you find between them now ? how do they complete ?
  17. Taiji fights

Yes that's for sure. Thanks for your answer. Can you describe what happened during the fight ? what techniques you used ? did you ko the guy ?
  18. Taiji fights

Yes that thread is not about how it can be use... it's the next step : how did you use it
