  1. Seeking Wisdom

I know, right?? The thing about wu-wei is that it's difficult to explain. the Not-Doing is done on dynamics, not on brushing your teeth.
  2. Is fulfillment a worthwhile goal ?

I think much of what you describe can be dealt with, with a little altruism. Find a way of giving. You're spending a lot of time in yer head.
  3. Seeking Wisdom

    LOL. Do Nothing.
  4. Seeking Wisdom

And this would be wei wu wei. When I find myself asking myself what to do, the first question I ask is "what would happen if I did nothing?" The answer, so far, has always been Do Nothing. And then watch. It is only when we take our hands off it that the intelligence of the universe has the opportunity to straighten things out. I think you have the answer right in your question!
  5. I love this place. The last civil place in the world.
  6. Wonderful interview with Ian Baker

This interesting. I don't know of any other spiritual tradition that has it either, but I know of two other places where extreme emphasis is placed on peeling through personality to get to the awaiting inner realization. Freemasonry (Scottish rites) and the 12 steps of recovery.
  7. Good observations! 'The instant we label it or "understand" it we are already grasping and limiting.' I couldn't agree more. When in the zone, it's not so much an all-knowing thing as a vacuous, spacious sensation. But there is all-knowing, not because we hold the information in our heads, but because we've shrunk ego sufficiently so that we are an open conduit to the knowledge that dwells in the All. It's there for the taking, once the ego has been modified sufficiently. In fact, I do have a channel that pops in now and then, saying things that didn't come out of my brain. It only pops in when needed.
  8. East is East and West is West

Nice article, thanks! Lacking any conception of Brahman as a spiritual mediator of psychic life, Nietzsche was eventually led to declare himself his own god.[8] I'm guessing that if Nietzsche had tamed his own ego, this would have worked out just fine for him.
  9. East is East and West is West

I think if it can hold form, there is consciousness.
  10. I think that raw-ness and is-ness are pretty much the same thing here. I've never had an awareness self-immolate. However, the analogy can be made that in old3bob's metaphor of the seed and the hot sun, that the Realization causing the Shift is a realization that must push ego aside, or the whole thing gets out of hand fast.
  11. Hard to explain. When your mind is in the place of 'spaciousness', falling asleep isn't an issue. And if you do fall asleep? They can't kill you.
  12. simplify

    potstickers
  13. In a pose like the corpse, it's possible to disengage every muscle in the body; no tension, no blockages. Brings the brain waves down so that no-thought is had in no-time.
  14. And you're okay with that??
  15. simplify

(is everyone afraid to say the next logical utterance?)
  16. Which books sit on your nightstand?

You're as far as intellect can take you, when it comes to metaphysics. Why not try achieving mastery at something, like growing mums or something? Bonsai trees? Woodwork? Artist? I've been focused on the artist within during this lockdown, and it's broadened my dimension. I am seeing nature more vividly. It gets me out of the drag of time. This zen-like state is about being the creator. Find something you love to do and get really good at it. Us solitude folks have to develop lots of facets. I did a watercolor today. OMG, today is a great day. That's how it makes me feel. Every bit as good as meditation, but with physical productivity as a bonus.

    stuck it!

  19. Is fulfillment a worthwhile goal ?

    you're the deity
  20. Is fulfillment a worthwhile goal ?

I don't think it has to do with following the heart. It's more like following your integrity. Always.
  21. Is fulfillment a worthwhile goal ?

Not sure what you're talking about, I know nothing about this tradition. But just speaking philosophically (and totally ignorant of the martial arts traditions, other than appreciation) it seems like there would be a bar to complete integration, when the mind must hold the difference between black/white, male/female, good/bad, negative/positive. It's only when we label it when the Dao starts to separate into 2. and then 3. And then, sure as s**t, those darn 10,000 things. The peace in the heart is found when there is no distinction that you make of what is right or wrong, or black or white. It doesn't matter. It's all the same thing. Intelligent matter that can somehow retain form in various shapes, sizes, and degrees of awareness. Hopefully we're the tip of the spear, but these days I wonder.
  22. Is fulfillment a worthwhile goal ?

It sounds like you are still trying to control things with the Yi structure. It's still a structure. Try just Letting It Be. The Beatles knew of what they spake.
  23. Is fulfillment a worthwhile goal ?

What did it for me was reading and re-reading the same little book, The Impersonal Life. And then continuing the mantra for years, until I finally understood it: "Be still and know I Am God." There's another thing worth mentioning too. If we take a little of the focus away from ourselves and our own dilemmas, and think about another person instead; can you do something today to make their life a little better?....this goes a long way to take one out of one's self. When you're thinking of another, there is no dis-ease of the mind. We're not concerned with our spiritual status, which is all ego anyway. It's magic.
