That's funny. For several years Marblehead and I got into conflicts. It was just a chemistry thing. I decided to rectify that, so I did a piece of 'found art' for his bar area. It was this crazy thing made out of palm fibers but I attached a light so that when he turned it on it cast eerie shadows all over the room. He was delighted to get it, and from that moment on we had a great rapport on The Bums. Sometimes just a tiny action will make all the difference in the world. This, IMO, is The Practice. Realizing the oneness and just get along. If we can do it here (somewhat anonymously) we're good to go anywhere else. We get deeply into each other's psyches here, and it's a great testing ground for 'out there'.

There was no difference in any of the three insults. He just chose not to pay her; he chose to pay the other two. Should we start a separate thread on this?
-
There's a funny discrepancy in that story. 'He had to pay anyone who insulted him' would indicate that the person had already insulted him and he paid him in retrospect. But he says the old lady does it for free. So she insulted him just as everyone else had, for free - and then he paid later. But then he later says 'for 2 years I've been paying people to insult me'. That would indicate he paid up front. Just sayin'

You are such a love bug. Isn't that something, about the moon? Joe and I had that same thing happen to us while looking at the moon in Ojai. It's like it reaches out and grabs your heart, and it's a bit of a magnetic pull. It happened simultaneously to us both.

I just watched the weather magic video. And Lord Josh Allen, you have the most graceful arms! Your motion is beautiful. I've found that very often, if one is capable of getting into Consciousness with the One, that it often works just to ask it to stop raining while I get to the car.

gotta love 'em anyway

And how can wu wei not be magical? All I know is that I found the DDJ at a yard sale, fell in love with it, compared multiple translations since then, and joined TDB's. This forum has been crucial in my own metaphysical development, the crowning of which is knowing when I should let the universe take over. (wu wei). To do the sorcery of wu wei, it must be done from a place of no-ego. It's the development of the no-ego aspect is what takes a long time. This is why I believe the real magic is curtailed by ego. It's fine to be a good showman with the accoutrements, but best done without identifying with the trappings. Hmmm. I wonder if that's why it's called 'trappings?' They can be, easily.

Kindness is the way in which One communicates (if you get my capitalization of One). We are One. The highest vibration that can emit from us is kindness in the face of all. This, I agree, is quite a practice. Wei wu wei is often found in kindness. The catch-22 is that this vibration cannot be attained if the egoic wall is thick. Those things that were mentioned earlier - cars, hats, etc - tend to reinforce the egoic level of our being. We are operating at a huge handicap. This is why self-realization is crucial - it is the outcome of a serious effort to know ourselves to the core, to look for shadows within and see them for what they are: obstructions to clarity. I think Daoism and Buddhism are symbiotic because the higher understanding of both points to the direction of the One, the jumping off point for the Void or Nirvana. At their roots there is no difference at all. Just different conditionings on the way of the paths we chose, or were born into. I may not be in the majority here, but I think the most freedom is found in the path of no path at all. No structure. I don't consider myself an -ist of any kind. But I do think the path of no-path is a self realization, a realization of who or what it is that we really are. Once we learn who we are and learn to do the sorcery of wei wu wei - that's when the real magic occurs. But we have to self-realize first. There's the rub.

Diffusing is the perfect word! Changing the form of something already existing. Multiply something that is already there. I'm so glad you remember the tornado situation with Mal. Were you as awestruck as I was when it made a square step away from the town? I'm currently reading the series about the Masters of the Far East by Baird Spaulding - I'm guessing you've already had your way with this series of books? One of the masters that appeared to them in Book 4 was Jesus, who talked with them about walking on water, using the water molecules to thicken themselves somehow - but he definitely takes the mystery out of those physical anomalies by somehow merging mind energy so it participates with the object of his focus. Lord Allen, you are capable of seeing so many facets of the dynamics. And you appear to be an exquisite showman - your photos are wonderful. And I'm guessing you are one really knowledgeable person. What you have done is climbed a mountain at your young age, but now your spirit needs to grow in a different direction. That's probably why you found your way to us. Many of us here have realized that there is a place of commonality between all paths. I call it the place of metaphysics, but there are other words for it. It is self-realization, regardless of what path we choose to get there. It is what remains within us after we have spent many years allowing the Dao (or the Dao working through something else, like NA or AA) to bring our egos down to size. The funny part of this segment of the path, is that it's counterintuitive to everything we've learned previously. It's not learned by piling knowledge upon more knowledge - rather, it's discovered within us after we have given a concerted effort to parent ourselves, to be of the best character we can be, because we know that the total clarity we seek can only be seen through a clean vessel. Those things that obstruct our vision must be removed. Many of us here have walked a long path together. This is the true beauty of the Dao Bums. We love each other. My suggestion would be to look within and see exactly why you remain in a state of rebellion. I recognize it because I was it. When you're rebelling from something or someone, you are forever tied to that person or thing. If someone says to go left, you have to go right because of the rebellion. That limits you in your actions by 50%. Whereas if the rebellion has been resolved, you will be able to go either left or right. Look for the origination of this - way back when; and one you become aware of it, ask your higher self to remove the tendency. Then, just chop wood and carry water and see what happens. Do have fun on this new playground. Glad you're here; just be kind to everyone, that's all. Same advice for everybody.

I don't know if this qualifies or not. A couple years ago, one of the Bums who lived in Australia, made a appeal to anyone who considered themselves a weather shaman to do what they could for his little town in Australia (toward the northeast, if I remember). A category 5 tornado was heading straight toward the small town and it was to hit within hours. I know many of us were concerned. I don't know what methods other Bums used, but I pulled out an atlas and put a drinking glass face down over his town in Australia, symbolizing a high pressure zone, and did a little ceremony to put the high pressure in place so the tornado would avoid it. I know others did their methods too. After the danger had passed, he posted that the tornado took a little eastward jog just north of his little town and then headed south again. Bypassed them like a little 90 degree angle. He merely said something like "Well, the tornado just took a little jog" and sort of minimized the whole thing. I said that I hoped that weather shamans get paid up front.

I think instead that's a tennis ball in his front pocket. How that thing moves around.... If you just wait until I come a-flittin' up to you there's no problem. The cleavage is slightly deeper than the wrinkles and it is often moist.

When you think about it, this quote is a direct nod to the theory of relativity in its most abstract form.

Tell me that's not actually a picture of you, Nungers. If that is you....your hips look quite....guidable.

damn I love this forum.

Is it just me, or is the upper half of your body too big for the lower half?

I think the lesson is wu-wei. It finds order in its own way. The universe can be trusted.

It looks like you're waiting to scare the poop out of someone coming through that gate.

The geometric shapes in and of themselves don't affect the healing. What it does, though, is enable me to see the pivotal moments in one's life to triangulate the reason that the body is manifesting 'dis-ease'. The body is always talking to us, and the only way of telling us that our inner attitudes are sabotaging us is by manifesting sickness or an acute situation that relates to a corresponding circumstance or dynamic in the person's life. Once those important points (which create tendencies) are recognized, it's then possible to 're-imprint' the person so that the dynamic (which manifests disease) is tweaked enough to change the manifestation. That is done through ceremony. This has worked for such serious maladies as melanoma, breast cancer, and quadriplegia.

The young imprints for sexual attitudes are huge. Once when I was a young kid, my parents left me home alone. I had just heard about sex from some kid at school (never got the talk from the folks) and that night I decided to draw images of how a man would put a penis into a woman. I couldn't figure it out. I had the man and woman sitting in front of each other, legs spread, trying to do it that way. That didn't seem feasible, lol. So I finally happened upon the missionary position, which seemed to be the easiest way. So by the end of this experiment, I had crumpled up maybe 6 random drawings of this mental exercise. When my folks came home, my dad grabbed a few of the crumpled drawings out of the waste basket to see what they were, and boy! Did I get it! Shame on me for drawing 'dirty' drawings and here's a spanking just to drive the point home. Being so young and the imprint so deep, the sex dynamic has been an enigma for me forever. But I rest now on the knowledge that I Am, and the sexual aspect of human-ness is divine. Although, at this age, the point becomes mooter and mooter,.

I don't know what a Daoist is either. I don't know if there is a 'religious' component to it or not. All I know is I bought a copy of the Daodejing at a yard sale and since then I've been hanging around this place ever since - for maybe 12 years. It is a fabulous philosophy for anyone, regardless of religion. The most priceless thing I've received from the DDJ is the life advice about not-doing. This is a way of enabling the universe to handle situations by getting ourselves out of the way. It sounds counter-productive, but it's a sort of universe-magic that actually works.

Otis??? The same Otis that made those funny videos and met me for lunch in Malibu years ago????

It can be strange. The tingling is in the spine, but sometimes it feels like it's sitting in one particular chakra or another. It is a constant. Sometimes it sits in the back of the head, where it feels hot. Or sometimes it will split itself and sit in both shoulder blades. This combines with constant loud ear-ringing. Not altogether comfortable, needs quite a bit of getting used to. I don't think the ear-ringing is part of it, as I've had that forever. But it doesn't help. When you felt the kundalini energy, did it come up through the ground and into your legs? I'm not sure if that's actually the same k-energy, or a type of energy that meets up with the k-energy. Whatever it is, it's pretty strange when it happens. I had it happen during a healing ceremony with a woman who was 84 and had just developed breast cancer. During the ceremony, it came up through her legs and apparently zapped the cancer, as it was gone by the next doc visit. The energy that comes through the earth is very jagged and a little painful as it comes up the legs.

My kundalini energy is with me all the time. About 20 years ago, i was standing in my bedroom in Ojai, CA. All of a sudden there was this huge continuous noise - it was the definite sound of either a train rolling right past my room, or a tornado outside the window. This sound reduced me to rubble and I ended up on the bed. Once recovered, I looked outside to see what had happened. Everything was calm, birdies were twittering. No huge train or tornado. I had no idea what that was about, never heard of the entrance of kundalini energy. the next day we took our daily walk to a coffee house. While I was at the table putting cream in my coffee, a complete stranger came up to me. This lady said to stay here, there was something I needed that was out in her car. I couldn't imagine what she was doing. She came back with a dog-eared and heavily marked book on kundalini rising. She gave it to me, said that I needed to read it right now, and send it back to her because she teaches off this book. Sure enough, it was about kundalini rising. How she was able to detect that on me from across the room was astounding to me. But the book even described the oft-encountered phenomenon of hearing a 'train or a tornado'. My energy has been twinkling about in my body since then. And that was the point when my 3rd eye started to develop, and coincidentally, developed the previous ability to play keyboard by ear, around the same period of time. It's like it happened overnight. What I am left with today is the ability to 'triangulate' (my word). There is an upper chamber in my consciousness from which I see triangles and other geometric shapes as they superimpose on circumstances, showing me the points of connection of a given situation or personality. This is very helpful for healings, reversing imprints for better manifestations. Good luck with yours, Jay78. Hopefully it will become a real tool for you. Manitou
