Well, the protests kicked off straight away after. I missed the part in "democracy" where if you don't get your way then you can protest to get it, despite losing fair and square and outright. Oh hang on, wait...what's that. Ah, no, that's not a thing. Thought so. ... People are so funny XD

You haven't been put in a home have you? If so, I'm flying over to help you escape.

EXACTLY! And we have the "privelege" of voting for these people. Slavery? An extreme word to use as we don't have it that bad, but still. It's like this: "I am rich and/or powerful and you, the people aren't. But we encourage you to vote because you need a political voice. Why? Because that's the meme that goes round. That's right folks, we are needed because we say so. We'll tell you this subliminally in media so that you believe it. Thank you for giving me this job and also paying me. Slave bitches." That pretty much sums it up for me. Now then, back to my actual life

That ship has sailed...I believe there was a big discussion over this. Mods weren't interested in the slightest lol. I too often found him useful though.

If someone takes something back from you that they bought for you...

Hehe, give it back...and then return them to their owner as well. Indefinitely. -

Adorn and decorate life with nice things...just always remember you can't take em with you when you die XD I used to kick and scream whenever somebody took and/or broke my things. These days...well, I bought and Xbox One last October and I barely touch the thing. Or is that just wasteful? idk -
Thank you, I will for now. Just good to have the books for when I'm on the move as my phone battery gets eaten a lot during my working day with little access/opportunity to charge. I might as well get different translations to last time though...seems a good idea!

I love how very few voted in this pole. Apathy, tsk. Lol.

Your worthless college degree....let's share your story.

Your words have struck a chord with me. Thank you -
Do you have any links to theads where he was deemed offensive? Just curious to have a look. I've certainly been spoken to much worse than that guy by others that have never been warned, to the best of my knowledge.

Haha, joker

Don't worry, I'm watching this thread so you can address me directly hehe. Thanks...I don't know if this is an offer or nomination? Depends how much work it involves. Considering I'm on the verge of quitting my business, I could be a full time bum anyway by the end of the year.

Oh? Was he fed up with everybody grilling him? I still think the dude was just misunderstood.

Great posts MooNiNite. The only real currency we have in life is time. Why waste it doing something because "a job's a job?" Work = slavery unless you can find your passion in it. Lao Tzu walked out on his post and faded into the mist. The sooner I can do this (tactfully) the better! -

Without my university experience, I never would have found my girlfriend of the last 7 years, my martial arts (possibly Taoism) and therefore, maybe never broken free of my war with myself (anger problems) Ok. So my degree was in Music Technology and Popular Music. Short of becoming a multi-platinum selling pop star, I don't think music will pay back the £30K I owe haha. I play in a band, and work freelance in events. I'm on the verge of quitting and taking a small minimum wage job (maybe in a garden centre) to gain some perspective. When I was 18, how on earth could I know what I "wanted to be"? At 27, I now know what I am, and that does not include chasing a career that I see is of little importance (to me) I don't know if your degree is worthless. Perhaps more a stepping stone or tool to finding your way. -
He's banned too? He was really fun to watch!

Why was ChiDragon banned??

Sorry...not countering to be an arse. I just find if we all spent time cultivating with our close families/communities as opposed to concerning ourselves with figure heads and organisations, we'd all be a bit more chill XD

Lol, I love our convos as of late. Again, if someone is homeless...daaaamn, either their parents/family hate them or they have been terribly horrible people. I don't know...again, what can we know just with info put in front of us?
-
Spotless, I can see that all being correct. I can't speak from experience but as an "external" martial artist (with internal being brought in by me mainly because of a keen acknowledgement for its uses) I can honestly say that none of us are free from personal grudges, anxieties, parent-issues etc etc. Anyway, all this learning is all a part of the process It's all sorting itself out.

No that's cool, your angle is very valid my friend. The answers to your quetions are in no way short-term. Quite right, if we were all apathetic, maybe some horrible fascism could take its place...but we do not know this. So many variables here and I'm willing to risk not voting with knowing that there are enough people that will keep the current establishment going (which consists of anyone with the biggest mouth and best campaign being trusted and elected while Green party remains the one party with just about a look in) I believe in self-governed societies. I practice Tao and learn that this is the natural way (like I say, we are so far gone, it would be hundreds or thousands of years of undoing to get anywhere back to this) But as a practitioner, I know for one that I don't need a babysitter in politicians, officals or anyone. I would feel like a hypocrite for voting. I don't mind that others choose to vote. As long as you have the right to vote and I have the right to not vote (and vice versa) I'm happy that we still have the right amount of freedom still. As for food banks...who are these people? I read this all the time in papers and think back to when I was unemployed with my girlfriend, living in a rented house with an overdraft sinking deeper and deeper. Yet there was still food on the table and gas in our boiler. The media runs lives. I will read a paper but it's the equivalent of a comic book to me. What I see outside my window is a very different world.

This reinforces my point. All parties have been doing this...it's all so desparate. Where exactly have they been for the last 5 years? All of them? I understand PR campaigns very well. People only seem to care about our vote when they HAVE to get off their arses
-
I've been to and fro with this argument but in all honesty, it affects me as much now as it has done each year of my life. I didn't vote when I was 1,2,3,4 etc... I voted a few times between age 18 and 24 I think and I still fail to see its use. Regardless of who's in power, it just appears to be a game amongst power-happy charlatans and those voting and hanging banners up outside their houses are just supporting a team. Chelsea Football Club affect me more than my government does on a daily, emotional basis lol

Well, the Tao of boxing...nothing else. Of course, hitting his missus is not "Tao" in the universal sense...I was saying he has his "way" as a master of boxing, that is all (having seen a lot of his fights, especially last Saturday's, it is clear this guy is one of the best in the game)
