  1. Hehe, never be scared. You're learning a lot today
  2. Chuang Tzu Chapter 2, Section F

Ok it took me forever to find this! Seems that your version not only reads completely different to mine, but it's structured differently too. Where this passage begins, it is half way through a section in my version! Nevermind though...I just swung by to give my thoughts on re reading this chapter. Seems that entering into debates is a pointless exercise as it is exhausting...for the sage just "does" and doesn't concern himself with taking sides. Did anybody else get this?
  3. Meat

Thank you. I have saved the page but had a fairly good read. Interestingly, it talks about calves being fed their natural mother's milk whereas on non-organic farms, they are fed powders milk. Now, in a documentary I watched, the calves were torn from their parents straight away and then shot so that the mother would produce milk for the humans only. The calf is "worthless". So there is already something that doesn't add up. I wonder who is right. Hard to tell just being sat at the internet! As for the meat consumption, it's all well and good them talking about what they deem as a moral way to eat meat. I would say that the chicken is probably more at home walking around and clucking than being killed for food.
  4. Meat

Glad you brought this up. After the vids I watched, I am investigating how true this is to most UK farms. If I do find it as true, I will struggle to support the dairy industry any more.
  5. Meat

Wow, even if I still ate meat, I wouldn't eat nuggets! That stuff cannot be good for you. I came off gradually in January and am now meat free. Go with what you find to be true. Beware of internet propaganda...explore and see what happens. Only you have the answer. Only your mind can get in the way and allow you to "lie to yourself".
  6. I don't practice Tai Chi (yet...I may start in the future) but I have had the same need in meditation and during wing chun forms. I would say it is down to where you are at in your development, so allow it to happen. If it breaks tradition or dogma, so what? The "right way" will emerge by itself in due course. This is yourself figuring it out...sounds like you are learning how to "feel". Once you have figured "it" out, I'm sure your eyes will open again.
  7. The story of my Poop

Took me a few days to get to read this all the way through. This thread deserves the bump...the bums should check this out
  8. Kermit frog species discovered

    Lol, no way...
  9. I need a band name (prog rock) and just can't for the life of me find the best words, or combo of words. I want it to give the imagery of celestial/consciousness/OOBE etc. So help me out please! For people that can write deep and complex music, how can we not find a decent name?!
  10. Ok, I can't do this...

    Well, I dream big so...
  11. Ok, I can't do this...

Very cool...I like my fair share of Nas and Wu Tang And yeah I know...cover blown :/
  12. Ok, I can't do this...

Hello guys... Please see endbeginband.net for some prog rock goodness from me and my compadres A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into the album. Hope you like it!
  13. I'm not in a position to say either way...Tao Te Ching and Zhuangzi both dabble in mystical ideas yet these can be just simple imagery, analogy or metaphor. I picked up the texts knowing that I wanted them to suit my views anyway! I personally don't care for labels, agnostic, atheist, religious...I think these miss the point entirely. It's ok to wonder...but don't get caught up in it all. Tao is your life...the screen you're reading this on, the senses, your breath, the flowers outside. Enjoy these! You will find your God quicker...whatever that God is.
  14. Seems to have disappeared...this is the only full movie I can find Most of it is in spoken English though, isn't it?
  15. I guess so! If we just did one thing and one thing only, we would be pretty one dimensional. Just because music is my forte, this doesn't mean I can't master a martial art, cooking and cleaning also. I feel like I have hijacked this thread lol. Sorry!
  16. My friend's Dad told me a few konths ago that I am like an octopus. I have many arms reaching for a bit of everything. His advice (career wise) was to settle and focus on one discipline. Now this has been echoes, I do agree...I can no longer hold so many things. Thanks for this.
  17. He has a new video?!! Wow...I must take a look. Yeah, he certainly does have a good outlook on form and this is where I see his self mastery coming in to play. Bioenergetics, again just like you, I began this because of him as well. He did a dark video when he was depressed and gave us a 6 minute insight there and then...he took it down but you can still find it somewhere. But because of this, among other training in tai chi and yoga, he seems much better and holistically fit, not just muscle. His "Campaign non-job" channel was good as well. I think it's his second video when he shared his journey to help people escape the rat race. That one really touched me...that guy has gone through all sorts of hell to shape the life that he has and I too am on that journey.
  18. No time to click play but is this Assasin's Fist, the new one? If so, yes, seen the first half hour and I must say, it's looking good. More to watch when I get time!
  19. Do you have an opinion on Elliot Hulse? If you haven't seen him, check out "Strengthcamp" channel on youtube. While he is a beefcake with his own gym, he appears very sincere in how he found his way, and also seems very in tune with Taoist philosophy...
  20. To be fair Shanlung, you do come across as a wee bit obnoxious. I have no problem with this though...I can accuse you of therefore not having Tao...just as much as you will say the same about some (or all?) of us. It's all relative. Can I ask then, what do you aim to get from your OP? I can only answer sincerely to say yes, you can find Tao in your 66 hour work week if you are working to mastery and doing it because it's "just what you do". This is how I understand Tao...following your calling, for lack of a better phrase. Or are you more directing this rhetorically at the forum. Can WE find Tao in hour work weeks?
  21. Not to worry...yes I recall now but it was ages ago for me...I meet so many people day in, day out. It was when you mentioned the birdie and then I looked closely at your avitar it clicked. So yes, admittedly I failed to understand your post. I mistook you for a grumpy old guy, fairly new to the forum with an attitude problem and an agonising addiction to exhausting work haha Glad that's cleared up now.
  22. This is one thing I was always told by my Wing Chun teacher...leave the barbell under the bed and do body weight exercises only.
  23. Thanks for this, the elaboration helped Originally, I thought emohasis was on more useful alternatives to both QiGong and Yoga so it's the way I interpreted it. Still, as I said, it's all Tai Chi around my way. I guess my only way to learn if they are of any use is to have a go.
  24. Can I answer this with another question? Is it your practice to be condecending? If whatever you read by me appeared "pseudo-psychologist", or "know it all" then I would have to say you are as mistaken as I was about your OP. Your question looked like you wanted advice, and I just gave my two cents based on the information you provided. If you have a problem with this then ok, clearly you don't need advice. I don't have the answers, nor claim to. I'm just trying to learn and help along the way.
