  1. How do you "live in the moment"

Yes, mindlessness helps me write songs! Mindfulness helps me to pay attention to things that benefit me.
  2. In addition then, surely this means that "balance" , yin and yang, represents a harmony NOT inclusive of any evil. Otherwise, one with perfect balance, or enlightened would be 50% evil, right?
  3. I think I'm with you... i.e The person that grows up in a violent environment and choses to exit the situation...
  4. Then if that is the case, surely one who has intention to do good is not natural either...
  5. To clarify also, by feminine we aren't refering to gender in a sex context, but on the context of polarity...
  6. Well, it was a "what if" rather than an "it is". But to the OP, "it is"...so it is his way. Maybe not yours...
  7. Hypothetically

Yes I remember you brought this up in a thread where I first met you. My WC instructor has actually expressed his interest in doing some Aikido. Will PM you something else re the 6 days a week thing. I have a question!
  8. I should rephrase actually. I mean, evil will always existed. No yin without yang and all that. So yes, perhaps learned, but also inherited due to social surroundings. Then there is the good, that naturally will always fight the evil (like yourself!) Again, something learned... So maybe not let it be, but accept our roles in life...
  9. Hypothetically

Wing Chun (specifically the Wong Shun Leung lineage) If you're interested, ensure you find a good school. The majority are pants. The thing to look out for is that they train you at close quarters, so that your attacker is actually in range to hit you! Also, good footwork...so many schools train a load of rubbish that leaves people falling over when the heat is cranked up!
  10. Still makes me wonder though, what if "natural" for someone is to commit evil deeds? So let it be?
  11. Burning desire...that itch to do something. Various people believe desire is a dirty word though. Without it though, are we not limiting ourselves?
  12. How do you "live in the moment"

Though I am about to go "Tao of Pooh" on you and suggest that they might as well be the same thing!
  13. How do you "live in the moment"

I love your open challenge to mindfulness. I will keep watching your posts in this thread and others. I have similar questions!
  14. Over-analysing/being pedantic, I guess.
  15. True that. When learning a skill, especially starting out, many things do need to be concentrated on. But I believe the OP is talking more about the dangers of conforming to the idea of examination in close detail which then turns out to be self-sabbotage...
  16. Interesting. I belong to a mindfulness forum which has a former sports journalist. Once, he interviewed Ryan Giggs (legendary footballee for Manchester Utd) and asked if he had to concentrate hard on making perfect passes and shots. His response was "no, I just switch off and play"
  17. What Taoists really do

I would love to see that!
  18. changing the world

Interesting. I sometimes think that if I'm always like water, then I will just lie down and not do anything - ever.
  19. changing the world

It seems that those that actuly did change the world didn't intend to do so...they just did because they were great!
  20. I would say there is benefit to both, but yes, I have noticed many here in the UK on midnfulness websites just hitting stalemates and getting confused due to this step bu step process. Teachers and words: most seem to be trying too hard to tick boxes, rather than explain things in a simple, clear way. Put it this way. I never read anywhere in TTC or Zhuangzi about having to sit in full lotus for an hour a day. Nor did I see any words such as Meditation, Dan Tien, Chakra or mindfulness. Though there are hints...see my thread in the Taoist Discussion - TTC - "Lao Tzu and the belly" We discussed similar things...
  21. But he's here to learn...and this is just the way he is...
  22. You see, I'm very yang! I smoke pot to chill myself. But also meditate and do Kung Fu...gradually getting a good balance. Works for me but agreed, I could see how this wouldn't work for every one!
  23. Yup. I'm feel most liberated when I let my crazy side open up. Especially when I glove up, spar and exchange multiple blows to the head with a partner!
  24. Hypothetically

Also, I really admire you openness and honesty in all that you say. Do you have that strange feeling that you've HAD to grow up/be more independent due to the hand you were dealt?
  25. Hypothetically

This is fascinating. I have something similar go down (not directly me but someone else in my family) Also, you mentioned the synchronicities earlier in the thread. Search this forum for more threads on this, it may help you along. But I am completely with you on the "do I not want to believe it?" While at the same time my mind is screaming "guilty" at the accused. Then there's the victim...did it really happen? Is someone/or thing planting the experience in his mind? Nothing makes sense to me in my "story", so I can empathize with your state of mind. The way I handled it? Forgiveness of the accused. Guilty or not, holding a grudge was only hurting me. And hurting one's self is pointless. Then, I began to try to piece things together, but meditated on accepting that I may never find out the reality (if there ever was one!) Good work with what you are doing with the art and the martial arts. We have so much in common after all!
