I like Malcolm and we are friends... He apologized to me publicly on Dharma Wheel before he left. But he presents from a view of a pandit, not a yogi. To him words are most important. He bickers with others over words for hours and hours. Dzogchen transmission has nothing to do with words or ancient texts.

The traditional lineages have lost their way. They are mostly museum pieces. Rarely is transmission occurring because of the huge retreat populations. Dzogchen has to be transmitted one on one. Webcasts are a joke, its magical thinking. Lamas today are competing for bigger student populations, income and fame. That's why they are flocking to the West. The group of young Lamas prancing around today are no better or more holy than your neighbor. They have spent no time meditating in the caves or having done long retreats. I am interested in preserving the real transmission. Most teachers seek more and more students. I am interested in making more and more teachers...

Your view is a lower view and a lower yana view of a higher yana view. The lower yana view is contained within the higher yana view. Rigpa, our essential nature is moral, compassionate and wise without training or practice. One only needs to relax into that already present nature after it being pointed out by one who is familiar.

What's a PPF? Thanks! :-)

I transmit the teachings from the transmissions that I received and realized. That is how transmission works. :-)

When I was last posting here, many of you were asking me when my book would be available to purchase. I have been busy with that project and it is now available at Amazon and on Kindle. I made an effort to present many of the pith instructions that I have received from mainly Dzogchen masters, Mahamudra masters and Zen masters, so that anyone could experience the "shift" into Enlightened Mind easily and in a relatively short time. The material is presented in generic language without the need to know anything about Buddhism nor the Tibetan teachings. To learn more about the book please visit my website: www.wayoflight.net Please share your feedback or comments! Jackson

I just wanted to thank all the people from here that bought my book... Since I announced its being available in June, over 212 copies sold through Amazon! I also added some specific practices from retreats and the book now posted on my website. Read and try the practices and let me know what you think! I copied these reviews from Amazon regarding my book, The Natural Bliss of Being: The Natural Bliss of Being, July 6, 2013 By Lawrence - See all my reviews This review is from: The Natural Bliss of Being (Paperback) The Natural Bliss of Being'' is one of the most important books i have ever read. It has radically shifted my consciousness and understanding which is a life changing experience for me. The reading and understanding of the contents is liberating and empowering. I see myself and the world very differently now. Thank u soo much Jackson. Everyone interested in Dzogchen should read this book! Essential Guide To The Spiritual Path, July 5, 2013 By Ken Morgan - See all my reviews This review is from: The Natural Bliss of Being (Paperback) One of the best books on the spiritual path that I've read, free from any dogma. It is a path stripped to the essential practices required to attain enlightenment although it is really more a case of discovering what already exists within us. A very clear and easy to read book. Jackson's precise pointing out instructions allow anyone to discover their true nature. THE NATURAL BLISS OF BEING, May 22, 2013 By R. L. Sassoon (Boulder, CO) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: The Natural Bliss of Being (Paperback) This book is the most up to date, comprehensive, directly and easily instructive, survey of matters spiritual that I have ever encountered. It's intellectually brilliant, but more significantly very practical: like meeting a spiritual friend and master in person, who understands your potential and your obstacles and reflects both back to you in the most encouraging, even directly illuminating way. From Ruth: This review is from: The Natural Bliss of Being (Paperback) At the outset the author intended this book to be "simple enough that anyone should be able to find [it] an easy read" and, amazingly, he has achieved his goal. Given the fact that he distils the essence of some of the greatest and most ancient spiritual traditions to include Zen and Tibetan buddhism, Eastern Orthodox Christianity, Sufism, Kabbalah and Vedanta, one might think it unrealistic to also keep it simple, yet that is exactly what he has done. The author clearly, simply, succinctly and eloquently explains the core essence at the heart of spiritual traditions. Anyone seeking a clearer understanding of what enlightenment is, and what the purpose of spiritual practice is, should read this book. It is also very practical. For anyone seeking to experience their own spiritual nature without the cultural trappings of religious traditions, this book is invaluable with practical and effective meditation techniques. A very informative and enjoyable read. Excellent! Visit my website: www.wayoflight.net

Hi all! I have seen my name pop up quite often lately regarding Dzogchen teachings. I would enjoy the opportunity to correct many of the comments regarding my relationship to the Dzogchen teachings and to clarify several points that are incorrect regarding Dzogchen practice and realization. There seems to be a clique of "Hinayana style Dzogchennist Taliban" panditas here that confuse conceptualization for rigpa wisdom or yeshe. One can't intellectualize one's way to rigpa. In spite of what many from this clique consider my view to be, this recent text I wrote contains the view that has been recognized here: If perceptions are not "objectified" and the perceiving is not "subjectified", there is then only the "unestablished". When the "unestablished" arises one cannot frame it in any conceptual way or else it becomes the "established". The "established" is then something perceived and objectified. If something is perceived and objectified then for that to be possible the perceiving must have become subjectified. Knowing this we find Nirvana is the condition of the "unestablished". Further comment: In practice, this means we leave "appearances" as-is without creating a story that defines them in any conceptual way. Likewise we leave our "perceiving" undefined, not creating a story about a "me", the perceiver. Continuing in this completely open and undefined space of experience, how can each moment not be Nirviana? I think this formula shows the same point that Zen, Dzogchen, Mahamudra, Madhyamaka and the Buddha's earliest teachings point to... Jackson Peterson. I think it is more important to look into the immediate vipasanna aspects of our immediate presence of awareness. Rigpa is right there... no need to read a bunch of stuff about various phenomena... -
The title has nothing to do with "heart drops" being compassion. It refers to "Nying Thig" teachings. The tranlation is not so good in the title.

You are most wrong. Lonchenpa happens to be my best topic of knowledge. I would be glad to point you in the right direction. The Zhi as base is kadag, everthing is the expression (rigpa i'tsal) of that pure Base, even samsara and ego. Read the 6 Vajra Verses and Norbu's commentary "Rigpa Khujug". This notion of the pure Base, Kuntuzangpo, (Samantabhadra), is essential to the notion of self-liberation and all Dzogchen view...

Realization has no need of preparation because your nature has never not been perfect.

The other way must not be adequate either, because no one is becoming enlightened... or a very, very few.

No, you can read Lonchenpa's Precious Treasury and do just fine... He wrote it to wake people up... It does.

Malcolm is wrong here. Everything does not arise from Ignorance. The Base as Zhi is Kadag, the display is always pure. But a consciousness arises that doesn't recognise the source of the arisings nor of itself, It then begins grasping and samsara develops. The ignorance is not in the Base, its a later stage. All arising are Kadag or pure in every case.

Hi! I am not seeing all these questions and comments as I log in daily. It might be better if we switch to my Dzogchen Discussion Group on Facebook. I am getting a lot of private emails also from the group here. I can do a better job if we switch to Facebook... please http://www.facebook.com/groups/137617126381879/

From The Rosary of Views... This text is considered to possibly be the only authentic text written by Padmasambhava. He is discussing the Dzogchen view: "As for Nearer Reliance, it means knowing that one's own self is Divinity (bdag nyid lhar shes pa ste). Just as all the dharmas are of the nature of the Buddha from the very beginning, so one's own self is of the nature of God (Lha). Likewise, this means realizing that striving to acquire deification is not the point [because it has always been an attribute of oneself]." This doesn't sound like the Madhyamaka or Theravadin view to me... ;-)

Well forget Guru, just a helpful friend will do. We don't need any more "gurus" thank you... What is the weak point is getting the "direct introduction" properly rendered. Most Lamas don't have the time for "one on ones". There is really no other way. I don't think most Lamas have the capacity to transmit rigpa either. They are just parrots, especially meaning the young ones. Shamatha and vipassana are fully within Dzogchen and are the training method of the Semde section of Dzogchen. Dan Brown's approach is all about shamatha and vipassana with many vipassana "pointing outs" during the meditation practice. Do one of his one week Mahamudra retreats... It was truly great!
