Nice Jeff! But Dzogchen has a different view. Rigpa has never been afflicted. Rigpa is your primordial state. Discover your condition of rigpa and rest in that unestablished nirvana. That's all. Everything in the lower yanas is automatic in rigpa.

Its all theory, coffee chat talk. No one has a clue except what they read about the Rainbow Body. But they argue amongst themselves like it matters...

No one has authority... they can make a claim, that then needs to be proven and demonstrated. Which Lama, where is his written statement outlining the specific errors? I also have another translation... didn't see any difference.

Its the only issue... besides the fact they are assholes to everyone, even each other. Read the moronic threads... Bickering back and forth over everything that was unimportant.

Malcolm is wrong. There are no five "elements". They are Buddhist and Hindu pseudo-science. Modern physics, especially quantum is where you should be looking... not to Malcolm quoting Buddhist mythology. Recently I read a Lama said to another Lama about Westerners: "Do they really believe the Earth is round and not flat as the teachings say?" Or better yet, the Menri Loppon asked us if it is not true that when you squeeze a snake it will make its legs pop-out! When we told him no its not true, and that snakes have no hidden legs, he was shocked and dismayed. The Dalai said in a video that "brain scientists have proven that the information about the Abhidarma is wrong, so we must change our beliefs when science proves them wrong." Wake up people!

Yes, attack the person you are not able to defeat with correct information. That is the usual m.o. of passive/aggressives...

Yes, the fundamentalist taliban had a huge problem with my teaching outside the traditions. Who cares? I owe no explanations to anyone. If people don't like what I say or teach they can ignore me. I don't know of one person over the many years that I have been teaching who hasn't told me that they felt benefit from having participated. I am not going to argue with you about myself and what I do with you. If you want to discuss Dharma in a positive manner... please do.

Oh, bull... Post the apology. The text and word translations look perfectly fine in the text that I quoted. What phrase in the text that I posted do you disagree with? Which word? Let me guess.... hmmmmmmmmmm maybe....... hmmmm AWARENESS for Rigpa!!!! Awareness has been used by almost all Tibetan teachers who speak excellent English. The meaning is the point, not the word. Where you see the word "awareness" just substitute rigpa. No big deal! What arrogance!

No they didn't give me a fair shot at all. Malcolm was favored... He manipulated them and then apologized to me. You have it completely wrong. Malcolm was correct, the clique there were horrendous. I won't discuss that any more. Too many assholes there to spend time justifying my views. Bring the assholes here to this thread... then adios.

Not true! If a plant is has yet to reveal its fruit fully, nothing is "obstructing" the fruit from maturing. Yes, they were highly one-sided and biased...

Not sure what you are talking about... The Dzogchen view is not Theravadin. At the Sambhogakaya level, you appear as a deity. Your body is the subtle Light Body. Awareness is your consciousness. It is a thigle as yeshe or rigpa. Rigpa is a thigle of pure awareness that resides in the head. When you die, you as "rigpa" leave through the eyes. This the Sambhogakaya level. At Dharmakaya all that is known is Ultimate Knowing Emptiness. The emtpy quality is aware. But the empty knowing quality is also form. The entire mandala is self-known. This is Dzogchen 101. What is the continuum of a Buddha? What is an embodied Buddha who remembers past and future lives? If rigpa is "knowledge", who or what has that knowledge? These are important questions to work through. Theravadin teachings don't have good answers for them.

The Buddha needs an update... there are no particles. Actually the theory of Abidharma got into the same problem when they attempted to see the skandhas as substantitive, which is what the Prajnaparamita was aiming to correct.

Buddhahood evolves to omniscience. But that progression is not dependent on the removal of obscurations. Like a flower brieaks through the earth. That's Enlightenment, Buddhahood. Now the Buddha plant can grow and fully unfold and display its fruit, attributes.

Direct Introduction: From the Yeshe Lama by Jigmed Lingpa, translated by Lama Chonam and Sangye Khandro This is an actual written Dzogchen Direct Introduction. Please do not share this outside of our group. It is a restricted text. "Kye! Do not contrive or elaborate the awareness (rigpa) of this very moment. Allow it to be just as it is. This is not established as existing, not existing, or having a direction. It does not discern between emptiness and appearances and does not have the characteristics of nihilism and eternalism. Within this state where nothing exists, it is unnecessary to exert effort through view or mediation. The great primordial liberation is not like being released from bondage. It is natural radiance uncontrived by the intellect, wisdom unsullied by concepts. The nature of phenomena, not tainted by the view and meditation, is eveneness without placement ...without premeditation. It is clarity without characteristics and vastness not lost to uniformity. Although all sentient beings have never been separate from their own indwelling wisdom even for an instant, by failing to recognize this, it becomes like a natural flow of water solidifying into ice. With the inner grasping mind as the root cause and outer objective clinging as the contributing circumstance, beings wander in samsara indefinitely. Now, with the guru's oral instructions, at the moment of encountering awareness--without any mental constructions-- rest in the way things truly are, without wavering from or meditating on anything. This fully reveals the core wisdom intent of the primordial Buddha Kuntuzangpo."
