Hmmm....I think I have encountered another celestial being few days ago, in my morning dream. It was a Chinese Indian child. He was like a Chinese children but with dark brown skin color. A pair of large almond shaped eyes. Unusually large proportional to his head. Glowing white luminous light from his third eye. Then, he appeared next to my mother and helping her cooking. He turned around and smiling at me. When I noticed his third eye was glowing, I smiled back at him as if I knew who he was. In reality, I don't. I knew he wasn't just some simple dream figure. Man, those large almond shaped eyes...hehehehe....

Divine intervention..is called Robert Mueller.....LOL

Alright...it seems your state of mind is more complicated given what you posted last month. It appears you aren't grounded enough in your meditation practice. Your fear and your preconception clouded your third eye vision. And your mind can't handle it. I hope you aren't taking any drugs in your meditation. You should probably meditate on your lower dan tien for a while. For your real life, get involved with people sharing your hobby. You have hobbies right? Generally, these hobby groups are very welcoming. How did you end up in contact with THAT individual???
-
Hmm..ok..you posted this about a month ago. I see where you are coming from.....
-
We should at least to help him or her to understand their state of mind. I would certainly not indulge in their illusion..assuming he or she is actually on a path. We don't know.
-
Let me put it this way...........it is almost impossible to feel disconnected when your mind is connecting to the world around you because you have compassion for the suffering or with other world events. In a spiritual path, you experience solicitude...not loneliness... You experience connections with other higher realized beings either you like it or not. They will manifest themselves with your true mind. Loneliness is the opposite of the path. That was why I asked the OP to define his or her path. Maybe it isn't the path making him or her feeling lonely. Is her or his life and early up bringing.... Loneliness....I know what loneliness is..after all, I had my Kundalini energy rising when I was only 17. What do you think how it happened???
-
I find your post a bit confusing. Can you tell me what is your spiritual path? Are you sure maybe you feel lonely because the world and the social surrounding you were brought up under? If you are on a spiritual path, loneliness does not bother you because you are living on a higher plane of existence. You don't envy others because you view and see their suffering and maybe even the superficial aspects of their lives. Two, you will be in contacts with higher realized beings in your dreams, meditation, and visions. In fact, you would crave for solitude because you would get tired of this world. You may prefer to make contacts with others only to the extent that you have to make a living or to function normally in the society.....

I think the attachment is long predating your birth...when your previous karma was already dictating your next rebirth.....You are born because...your mind didn't become liberated during your previous life. Is funny that people think they have power and choice in what or who or how they become attached to. In reality...not really. That's largely what attachment is....becoming obsessed in connecting oneself to a thing, a person, a place. a thought, and food....
-
No.......wei wu wei has no I. No ego. The mind quietly observing events which are seemingly relating to your attachment. Yet, no dependent thought condition arising in your mind. You went on your way as it is. The example is like getting yourself in a car accident and your mind is about to witness yourself in an accident. Instead of desperately trying to avert the accident by doing sudden, erratic things with your car, you just allow your instinct, wei wu wei, to take over. You survive the incident unharmed. Yes...I escaped death while a SUV was about to run me over while I was cycling in my neighborhood.... I had 4s to react. Not much else to do when someone was about to kill you with their truck. Somehow, not only I survived and didn't hit the truck, I did something that I couldn't believe I could do. Slow motion power sliding in order to change the force vector my bike and I was heading..to the side of the truck. Not only that....my feet didn't even touch the ground throughout the entire incident. It was something. Things can happen when you are no longer even attaching yourself to life.... Don't dismiss concept you have no knowledge and experience off. It isn't making you any more sense. Oh...when the ego gets involved in your attachment, it will always try to fix things. To make things worst..... At best, the mind would even try to deny it is obsessed in attaching to things.... Is called denial....
-
Working with....is assuming you are adding an ego into the entire attachment/karma dynamic. Making the attachment more stickier. That's the opposite of wei wu wei. Letting them go. Stop thought arising condition unfolding in your mind. Then, the attachment and karma won't cause you to act on it. Weu wu wei is even more important dealing with past life karma/attachment. Dependent condition arising predating your birth. How do you even "work" with that???

Could be intestinal worms...do you eat sushi??? By chance?? Try some peppermint tea. They help you to relax your stomach muscle and to aid your digestion.

Remember...this thread is intended to point out why attachment and obsession are not good for the mind because they cloud your judgement. There are reasons why cultivators are trying to free themselves from them. Eyes would be rolling if someone just claims that attachment and obsession are the key to advancement of our consciousness and scientific breakthrough....even to enlightenment. Yes, they can serve as a springboard to enlightenment once you are free from them. They don't help you to reach enlightenment directly.
-
I think your attachment to attachment is high here because you aren't seeing the point he is trying to make citing Edison. He is referring to scientific breakthrough and the need to become attached and obsessed... It has nothing to do with enlightenment or compassion. If he is not so attached to justify attachment, he would have used a better example... Here...I just show that why getting all attached and obsessed aren't good for the consciousness....
-
is a weak analogy considering in the history of science from Galileo to Newton and to Einstein. Einstein's theory on relativity and space is largely being influenced by Eastern religions fyi. Each stage of scientific breakthrough requiring deconstructing certain existing scientific paradigm...basic assumption about our world. The people who are trying to uphold the existing scientific principles are those who are the most obsessed and attached. Their livelihoods, recognition, and fame depend on it. Pioneers, similar to Dharma practitioners, have specific insights into their worlds and can make breakthrough discoveries. These aren't attachments or obsessions....is called insights...revelations. Is the complete opposite of attachment. The OP tried to claim that only attachment and obsession can lead to more scientific discoveries. Attachment and obsession is the opposite..... Remember...attachment and obsession hate changes. You cut them off...the mind goes into a withdrawal...like crackheads not getting their daily high.....
-
Edison...??? Seriously? How about Einstein and various scientific revolution throughout the centuries? Being obsessed about science does not lead to break through. It only leads to fabricating data and to support their obsession. There are few recent cases in which Japanese scientists fabricating data on the AID's research in order to receive grant money and some other recognition. It comes to full circle in which some are justifying their attachment and obsession because humanity needs it to advance the human race....LOL LOL........

All attachment is the same....mind and intent driven connection to things or people or persons or places....these connections can not be cut without causing suffering and mental anguish. Not all connections or affinity, driven by karma, is attachment however. Certain celestial beings may have connection to me or me to them but I won't suffer just because I am not making contacts to them. I may have connections to certain people or events or social injustice in this world. I won't cry and suffer just because these events are happening.
-
Can energy exist without intent? Can there be chi without the intent? I think the answer is no. It seems itself a contradiction to think that energy itself has its own will and can attach to things and to our mind without any efforts from your own intent. The 12 links of dependent origination is very thorough fyi...
-
I think it is getting side tracked here. I brought up rigpa because we were talking about energy...energy is largely non-dual...no discriminating in its primordial nature. Nature of mind in its original form. There are no attachments because there are nothing to attach to. If you want to read up on it and to learn about the Tibetan sleep yoga, you can read this book here.... https://selfdefinition.org/tibetan/Tenzin-Wangyal-Rinpoche-The-Tibetan-Yogas-Of-Dream-And-Sleep.pdf Again, we are talking about attachment. Suffering originated from attachment caused by the arising dependent condition in this world. Attaching to what??? Energy? It can't be since energy by nature is non-dual.
-
Here you go..........yes..I have experienced it ONCE...few years ago. For about 5 seconds in the morning in my dream. THAT WAS IT..... http://www.chinabuddhismencyclopedia.com/en/index.php/Rigpa BTW, it appears you are resisting the idea that your attachment is caused by some dependent origination. You insist to argue that it is about energy....moving energy around. There isn't any point for me to participate in this discussion...
-
They are the same. Rigpa is non-dual energy state in which luminosity dominates your consciousness...nothing else. There is neither ups or downs or rights or lefts. You have no body. You only aware of your consciousness itself. Is the Dharma itself. Buddha Nature? I am not talking about a personality trait. I am talking about state of your mind before even manifesting itself to others. Rigpa can be experienced in dream during your sleep meditation. Only accomplished and advanced practitioners can experience it maybe once in a decade or so...

This is what you wrote... "That is why it isn't about figuring out what the issue is, it is moving beyond the mind, beyond the thoughts and residing in the energy of the obstruction." All attachment. All state of suffering...are caused by 12 links of dependent origination. They never exist by themselves. They have no permanence. Not sure...you are arguing that attachment and suffering are nothing more than some obstruction of energy path. What is exactly your mind is attached to then??? What is this attachment you speak off as if attachment is nothing but some unpleasant energy being stuck somewhere in your chakras? Dreams? What do you dream? Do you dream about this attachment? If so...there's your answer.....
-
FYI, a non-dual energy state is rigpa, the Tao, the Dharmakaya. There would be no attachment because there's nothing to attach to.
-
It depends on the context of your attachment.. You can't say you have issues with attachment but you don't know how they manifest themselves in your life. You can't say you are attached to certain energy....in its non-dual state. This energy becomes a problem for you because it has become differentiated. It has its discriminating state. The Sutra does not tell you how these attachment manifest themselves because they were written thousands of years ago. Life back then was much simpler.....
-
I would focus on if this attachment..now becoming an issue, is a part of a larger karmic force acting on you. What I mean is that this is a single attachment with a single entity you are dealing with. This attachment could be the result of some larger worldview you are more or less attached to. For an example, you may have some issues with a particular person. Maybe you are attaching to this person even though this person is hurting you. The reality is that this person isn't really the problem at all. You actually have issues with the type of people or worldview you have. There are people hopping from one attachment to another because they think they only have issues with one single attachment or a person. In reality, is the type of world or worldview they are following and living under. Once you know what it is in its actual context, you can really free yourself from all future possible attachment. You can see that there is this worldview or underlying paradigm you have been living under by examining how many times you have encountered similar attachment issues.
-
Let's not forget......most people don't realize they are living a life perpetuating the karmic force....because they are trying to live out a social expectation...or certain unrealistic ideals. Something must be stirred up in their minds to begin the question their own behaviors. Remember that we are talking about individuals living out a particular karmic trace originated from and by the the world and society they are living in. This individual's experience is more or less very collective. Is just that everyone is living by the same social paradigm and does not even bother to question their own basic assumption of what they are doing daily. When this individual begins to realize something is wrong, he or she is going against a particular trend or norm in his or her social surrounding. This individual needs to extract himself or herself away from it all and to go through an inner journey with their own mind. Or a "retreat." It takes a long time to reach to this seclusion of mind...that is...the karma has finally about to exhaust itself and you are beginning to question the nature of your own mental anguish and suffering. You begin to reflect on your life and everything else that has happened. In my case, I didn't get to that point until I was 17. For some people, it happens much, much later...because they are too attached to whatever is about to cause their own suffering. And things are going their ways so they thought. When do enlightened beings begin to assist you??? Hmmm..... For most, your cumulative karma would begin to ripen just as your current life karma is about to exhaust itself. Your future karma can be influenced too by enlightened beings as well....at least..easier now since you are no longer being chained by your current life karma. I think...:) Within the Buddhist cosmology, your future karma isn't set in stone but you are given the choice to choose to act.
