The problem is that the only causal link is that both are Vietnamese. I am pretty sure the young Vietnamese thug didn't intend to kill another man to save your friend... If so, did he accumulate bad or good karma by killing someone and saving another life?

Not yet....during meditation, I usually hear ticking sounds coming from the computer table in front of me. I believe these sounds are generated when my heart chakras or center channels are open. These aren't internal sound from my body. Sometimes, even just having deep thoughts about reading certain news on the Internet, I would hear a loud ticking sound coming from a foot in front of me. -
Luck, I believe within the context of Buddhism, is about karma...or karmic ties or karmic rewards. Other than being healthy, pretty advanced in my cultivation, stable family relationship but nothing great to talk about, luck really plays no role or little in my life. I never win anything. I never have unexpected good things happened to me. I seem to be a magnet for bad karmas from other people. I don't generally open up myself to people anymore. Luck or karmic rewards only seem to play a role in my life in my cultivation. That does not translate into material successes. Yeah, I played the powerball last night and I didn't win, despite that I have been dreaming about winning a jackpot lately. Maybe I am just preoccupied in my financial situation.

This is no different than our new age healers. The problem is that, in China, energy medicine or psychic healing has a long history in the Chinese culture. The naive public, with their simplistic views on chi gong mostly influenced by the popular culture, tends to fall for these con artists. What if he were a Zen master, not a Chi gong master? High level Zen masters can heal people. They do possess supernatural powers too. Of course, you are less likely to see a greedy Zen master.... That's just not Zen like. I hope you are joking because there is no reason why any accomplished chi gong masters would take on ANY pupils. Considering such a meeting a karmic reward. One way you can get into contact with such masters.....is through dreams. After all, is it not that Taoist immortals live in Heaven? When your time is ripened, don't be surprised to see such masters appearing in your dreams. Just saying...you know.

Truth...the chi can bypass certain channels and to connect with another. However, the degree of Samadhi may not be as strong or concentrated. The truth is that I only experience one of those really, really deep Samadhi once in a while...

I don't know what to tell you....from my own experiences as well as based on reading I did, this inner illuminations and light will appear "naturally." Both methods emphasize seeing the light in various colors. http://www.buddhanet.net/pdf_file/nibbana1.pdf If you have the chance, go read up on Master Nan works. It took me 10 years to find the Dharma Gate (when my mind has penetrated the first skandha of form) on my own, I was only 18. It resulted in my kundalini energy rising. Yeah, light and HOT, firing burning HOT energy circulated my body. No guessing. No metaphorical descriptions. I guess if you were a Buddha in your past life at one point and have tons of merits, you may reach nirvana in 10 years.

I don't know. I am describing the phenomenas you experienced as you are entering into a samadhi. They are real as you experience them and not real because they are less and less powerful as higher the samadhi state you could enter. I believe the concept the Clear Light Mind is a metaphorical concept??? Or is it not?

Third eye seeing the inner light. Light perceivable by the third eye because your Chi channels have been opened, this included your center channel. Master Nan on several occasions stated that you aren't enlightened or your chi channels have not been opened if you don't see the inner light in your meditation. This light is also called the nimatta. A sign that tells you are in a Samadhi...

I agree. What is the point to be enlightened in some degrees if the mind can not acquire the various transcendental wisdom? To acquire knowledge and the sense of knowing beyond time and space. Enlightenment isn't just about having to experience various state of mental bliss....because as the higher state of Samadhi the mind is experiencing, the less and less blissful one would feel and experience....

Not sure if anyone said it but go look up Samadhi. Jhana is a state you experience in a Samadhi. Samadhi is a mental state in which you have achieved an one point concentration. Usually, you know you are in a state Samadhi because you WILL see the inner light followed by some sort warm sensations. It could be HOT too. This state of concentration is almost like all of your 6 senses ceased to exist and your mind is only left with a pure consciousness. I think you are a novice. Normally with gifted individuals, it takes about 10 years of cultivation to arrive in any sorts of Samadhi. The first stage of Samadhi is usually derived from the mind managed to penetrate the skandha of forms. I would recommend reading on some works by the late master Nan Huai Chin and his well known disciple William Bodri.

I am not sure if I noticed any change in my energy level because I generally have my chi pumping all over my body throughout the day and the chi gets stronger around night time and 4am in the morning. I did have some strange beings appeared in my dreams around 4am. A Black man, a bus driver, asking us (a group of students) where we wanted to go and he would take us there. Kind of odds for a bus driver to accepting requests. And this morning I encountered a European woman, on the heavy side and much older, showing me around in a work place. Not my work place and certainly not any places I have been before in my real life and in my dreams.

If anything, I think the changes would manifest in my dream. I am generally not that suspectable to mood changes. If I experience any unusual dream situations (encountering interesting beings and figures and etc), I will report back here.

I have several of these experiences. First, you are being attacked because you yourself have certain psychological, spiritual, and mental vulnerabilities. This could be certain issues you are refusing to deal with and etc. Your weakness manifested in your dreams or meditations. Another forms of attacks are from randomness entities. I just spent an hour meditating and I was in another room in my apartment. In my meditation, I saw this angry looking woman (on the heavy side) with an angry face and holding some sorts of weapon in her hand. It appeared out of nowhere in my vision. I wasn't alarm but I chuckled a bit realizing what I saw during my meditation. I was like "what is this?" I have my shares of dealing with vampires in my dreams. Those are interesting. My recent dream involved a couple. In this dream, I was lying down and this little woman was making some obnoxious demands. They were so out of place and not in the context of the dream setting. I got so annoyed that I stood up and transformed myself into a giant. Here, she became a little 4 year old woman, no taller than 3ft, bitching about something. Her male companion, next to her, began to apologize for her. -

Hahahah...spirit entities do exist as your chi reaching to your third eye. Since Christmas, I saw a white spider. Last night, it was 2 cats and finally a giant cat lifting me high up and above the ceiling. Almost like the movement of my chi reaching to my crown. I lost counts as to how many beings I saw and interacted. The encounters were meaningful enough that I am getting too much information. They are the products of the mind but they are both real and illusions at the same time. -
Not really because I measure my life in decades, not years. I have been in my current mental, spiritual state for 3 or 4 years now. I think changes are coming....since I can't tolerate myself in this state for this long....considering I am already somewhat accomplished in my cultivations.

Well, there isn't any need to believe or to understand Karma and reincarnation because......what are you supposed to do with the information anyway? Until your past life karma, at least one of the past life karmas, smacking you in the face, you need not to worry yourself over the concept. When does the past life karma emerge??? When you have un-clinged and resolved all of your present life karmas. Is a lot to go through. Think of anything you enjoy or not enjoy doing in this life time..... Not sure about others but when your past life karma emerges, you are already a different person, for the best or worst...depending on how you resolve your past life karma. Remember, actions and reactions, balancing of good and evil, stretching out over several life times. Your will to change your karma maybe a bit very limited. -
Speaking only from experiences. Dan Tiens are "consciousness energy" regions located at 3 different parts of the front of your body. I think that Dan Tien could only exist if there is a consciousness energy focused on it. That's the reason why when you focus you mind to your Dan Tien, your chi moves accordingly.
