One is only as right as much as it allows them to obtain enlightenment and to be liberated....
-
Sigh...do you know how silly you sound? Master Nan is a master in Esoteric Tibetan Buddhism and went to Tibet and studied under many masters. And has been confirmed by them. Now, you are saying he is wrong. Hehehehe......yeah, ok.
-
Hmmm...so Master Nan is wrong. Hmm....yeah, ok. FYI, the Diamond Sutra was translated into Chinese more than few thousands years ago. Surely, Buddhism must have been influenced by Taosim by now....
-
Well, I can't because I have to type up the whole paragraphs....unless there is an electronic version of his Diamond Sutra....
-
Hmm....I am not going to discuss how does one become enlightened and to experience nirvana.... Or whether or not Buddha himself awakens you or not.... Again, according to Master Nan, both Hinayana and Mahayana aren't different or separated but stages. On page 114 to page 129, in his Diamond Sutra, he explained clearly the differences or processes between Hinayana and Mahayana. He even went so far to say that there are no other ways to liberate oneself and all sentient beings without experiencing both Hinayana and Mahayana....
-
I don't think they are different. Why would Master Nan talk about the Hinayana as a lower vehicle for the greater vehicle of Mahayana???
-
Hmm...I don't care so much about its meaning and its definition (its meaning changes as soon as the practitioners are walking the path) ....but how it is understood, in this case, from the viewpoint of Master Nan.
-
According to Master Nan, both Hinyana and Mahayana schools aren't separate but stages....unless he is wrong. You know....

Primordial qigong aka Tai Chi for Enlightenment
ChiForce replied to liminal_luke's topic in Daoist Discussion
Tai Chi without Chi Kung is just plain exercise.... Isn't it still Tai Chi is just meditation after all??? -
Ha....you see, meditation is something you can do by yourself. It is a cultivation process with a tangible result. However, what you can do yourself scientifically other than playing and understanding concepts. Just another doctrine memorization. You aren't doing any scientific experiments. You aren't creating anything new out of nothing.
-
The trick here is that you, being born and to become completely ignorant of the pasts and the cyclical nature of existence, would mistake your present as a permanent reality.
-
This is interesting. I felt this spinning too for a while when I meditate in my sleeping position, in the morning. Never while I am meditating sitting.

Can Kundalini "burn up" entities?
ChiForce replied to CrunchyChocolate555's topic in General Discussion
I don't want to start a new thread since I have a silly question. As a side job, I am a photographer. One area I would like to photograph is a cemetery. It is mostly "western" cemetery. I am just waiting for a cloudy day to go there. Why? The scene is moody and spooky. The cemetery has a lot of Gothic themes in there. Black and white film photos would look really well. For some reasons, I don't expect the experience would be plain and easy. I don't expect to go in and to come back out not feeling anything. Am I a magnet for certain spirits? Maybe certain ones, the good ones. However, you would never know what sorts of spirits one would attract. BTW, this cemetery is a historical landmark and do get visited by people very often. It is no doubt that I am very receptive to the spirits. Last year, I and my parents went to visit a Buddhist temple in the upstate New York. There was this larger than life size Kuan Yim statue. I was photographing this statue and trying to read it (the lights, the angle, and the color). I was composing the shot looking up and through my viewfinder. Then, something happened. My eyes or my attention got fixated on to the her face. I felt this surge of energy and I felt her smile. I felt that her face got bigger and larger. I froze there for 3 seconds. I then continued to finish photographing the statue. It was like she was alive and looking and smiling at me. Throughout the visit, I could hear my upper chakras vibrating the whole time. In the main hall, there is this giant statue of the Vairocana Buddha but I didn't feel anything though. Of course, there was this kid outside crying and screaming at the great Vairocana Buddha as "evil." Hahahah.... He was scared. The poor thing... I bet the kid is the devil incarnated and trembling in fear at the sight of the great Vairocana Buddha. In another incidence, this was involved with my old job. I was a store manager for a big retail chain. I got transferred to manage this store. Rumors have it that, back in the 50s, this store was used to be an Italian restaurant with connection to the mafia. And this little girl was supposedly got buried inside the freezer, down in the basement. The burial freezer was there for storage. No light inside the freezer and very messy. The basement lighting is less than optimal. I used to play tricks with my staff in there. Hahaha.... I wasn't afraid. I actually felt very comfortable in the basement. Now, I believe I saw her once in my dream. She was somewhat playful in a destructive way. Or a trouble maker or a prankster kind of way. Now, my assistant manger got the bad end of it. He dream of her very frequently. I didn't ask him what he dream. However, his mind is less then refined or cultivated. -
I was never big on Star Wars but only recently. Lord of the Rings are OK but the Mr Frodo isn't my idea of a hero. He is too normal. Superman? I will pass. I love the X man.....super sentient beings being persecuted because of their super powers. Bible? Not a Christian. I will pass.

Hey, "I" happened before "Matrix." Period. Yes, when I watched Matrix, I see a lot of my life in there.

The Tao and the Chi are as natural as nature herself. When you have a spontaneously awakening of the Chi energy and to be on the path of the Tao, just for the sheer fact that the way you have lived your life and certain issues surrounding you, you are on the path to the great enlightenment. The question is that why there aren't more people like that.

To act violently without violence...peace you will have. To act violently with violence is simply getting caught in the cycle of suffering. Wars in Africa and Middle East are like that. To act violently without violence would require certain amount of knowledge and wisdom. Or cultivation accomplishment.

One way I do it is to "re channel" my anger. In plain language, I would take the high road. That is, I would seek out the reasons behind my anger, which is usually the result of karmic actions initiated by the other parties. Listen, my old college dean wanted to expel me because of the insights I gained from my kundalini energy rising. To something more recent 1 to 2 years ago....confrontation with the NY police over being ticketed for red light violation on my bicycle, inside a closed city park!!!! When cars weren't even allowed driving in the park. I belong to a pretty large network of cyclists and racers. The NY police would often go on with their ticket blitz (ticketing cyclists riding inside the close city parks) whenever they feel like it. Cyclists are often considered second class citizens. Here, I would look inward and converting my fear and anger emotions into the conceptual realm. Into knowledge. Into their intents. No fear. No anger. No emotion but sword piercing knowledge into their true nature. Somehow, whatever fear and anger I was supposed to have ended up deflected back to the other parties. One of the officers told me that I acted as if I am more righteous than her. Hahahahaha....that was the whole point, to be in the light. As a result, I can't be responsible for their own karmic actions because I make them to see their own karma.

Look at under TVB and Chinese TV series. http://www.spcnet.tv/tv-series.html The message board has some posts on the top 10 best kung fu TV series during the 80s. http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/forumdisplay.php/8-TVB-Series And the "Grand Masters."

Go back to page 1. I have listed 2 links. One is the Tai Chi Hero just premiered on the 26th. The other one is the TVB series.

No offense to the legend but his movies are really bad with the story line. They are often very cruel. I would prefer to watch any kung fu films dealing with the Chinese antiquity. They all have some mythical themes. The heroes aren't often obsessed with the idea of fighting against the Japanese or the "foreign devils."

For the fact that you are or were an arhat, you have not attained full enlightenment. Maybe partially. An arhat is supposedly not interested in saving sentient beings but to liberate only himself from the cycle of suffering.
-
This is the case only if your cultivation level is not sufficient. By understanding your own Buddha nature, it helps your life destiny. If you are able to reach to certain degree of samadhi and to have possessed various wisdom and have some ideas about your past life, you are already not clinging to anything to begin with. It is about the idea of knowing who you are and were and not clinging to it.

Try to take up sports or endurance sports. I love cycling. The other day, I did 80 miles in a bit over 5 hours. Put that anger to the pedals and go fast.
