In psychology, there is what's called frustration aggression hypothesis, simply stated: we become frustrated/irritated when things don't go our way. It seems that 99% of irritation is attachment based. Is righteous indignation ever Holy, that is, not based on personal attachment? Or is holy even a real thing? Like if one person in the world wanted one thing, and everyone else wanted the exact opposite, would their desires be equally as valid, even if it went against the grain?

I'd still like to see Deep Thoughts by Songtsan moved to Mt Kunlun...as it is about cultivating opposite gender identities within ones biological gender...I felt slightly ridiculed there....was I being punished for posting too hastily in the Women's section? Did anyone ever think that maybe the reason that there aren't a lot of women on TDB is that women are already naturally themselves, and that Taoism is more for men to learn to be more at home? Could that be why more men want to become women, than women want to become men....just my views....

Although is there a plant equivalent to fish oil? Fish oil helps me so much, I don't know if I could give it up. As long as things are free range (or free swim), and they are doing the same as me, eating other life, where is the harm? I ate a spider the other day, on purpose, because it was crawling around on my bed. I was thinking, 'you are probably just going to bite me aren't you?' So I decided that instead of him making me a part of him, I would just make him a part of me. He still lives, as part of the collective known as Songtsan.

Why not just do smoothies with various plant proteins? Pea, hemp, nuts, etc...

I have always been instinctively more attracted to Taoism, than any other religion. In 6th grade, when reading about religions of the world, in reaching the Taoism section, I had a huge draw to it vs. All the others....the only reason I ended up studying more Vedanta and Buddhism is that they are marketed more. Taoism is always more in the background, just being, whereas all the others are out there left and right, at least in my country....I never like to assume too much about my 'self,' just let myself naturally be, but I keep saying that I am mostly Taoist, if I say I am anything....its the most free way to be...with the least amount of cognitive dissonance... There are gems in every religion, of course, but I can't help feeling manipulated by the rest. Only Taoism leaves me feeling fresh and un-owned...

Usually, kriyas happen automatically, or at least the best ones do....the best way to experience a true kriya is to completely relax the nervous system and allow spontaneous movements to occur.... if you hold the intention to completely relax all outgoing/efferent signals in the nervous system and just stay aware of incoming/afferent signals, and keep the intention to not create any efferent signals however long it takes to experience an un-selfmotivated kriya, you are sure to have one. This is the fastest/best way....try an extended savasana

So if the wise harm no one, if you saw a man physically beating a woman to death on a high escarpment, unreachable by you, yet you have a sniper rifle sitting next to you, just by random chance, would you say, 'Nay, tis wise not to harm,' and keep your gun in check?' What would Buddha do? What would Lao Tzu do?

These are good points all, and thanks. So, while the body may be having an emotional/physiological reaction to an event, the mind feels the result, the spirit does not have to acquiesce to knee-jerk reactions. Forsooth! However, do true Buddhas pick and choose then, when to let the dogs out? Whoof! Whoof!

I will (it'll be on a long list of things to do....so it might be a while)...by the way...check out my newest PPD post, titled 'Feelings' - I encourage you to contemplate it.

I've been a girl most of my life. On the inside. I've been right-brain dominant and receptive, empathic and sensitive. In the beginning it was out of envy of how females were encouraged to be expressive and beautiful, free to explore just about anything they wanted to. Also, my mother always wished that she had had a daughter, and who knows what effect that might have had on me in the womb? I have seen within myself that my lack of drive is due to not wanting to be who i am. In fact, i have expressed this sentiment here before i believe! So, somehow, i need to change something. In diving deep within myself, i have noticed that i wanted to be a girl because it seemed an easier lifestyle... You could play more, eat less, use all kinds of languorous flowey movements and sit pretty knowing you looked good doing it. Sociocultural genderfications , memes, and such all seemed to create a system in which women are valued more than men...if there was only one man left in a world of women, the population is still relatively safe from extinction and that man would be a 'busy beaver' and love it. If there was only one woman left in a world if men, that women would be hard pressed to repopulate the human race, not that she wouldnt enjoy it as much as her counterpart it could still be done, but might not be as easy-going as the reverse situation. Men seem to chase after woman more so than the other way around...We all have beauty and power, but beauty flairs higher in women and power flairs higher in men. Beauty is power and power is beautiful. [still in progress, not yet complete, my point has not been expressed yet]

Can you elaborate? I hate to jump to conclusions.... ...let me add that I have read about 50x as much Buddhist materials as Taoist...perhaps it is clear from my posting. I have left Buddhism for a long while, although my heart is in Tibetan Buddhism, probably in descending order from Vajrayana, Mahayana, and mixed Theraveda/Hinayana (not sure how to classify everything exactly). I have seen many instances of righteous indignation taking place from high level Zen patriarchs and other various teachers...I see the use of it as a teaching tool. I'd love to hear the Taoist perspectives on it....would striking out in fury be the masculine taking form? Keep to the feminine, but bust out into masculine war dance when necessary? Remember that I am primarily learning Taoism from you guys here, and reading very little source materials....

Damo Mitchell on why we shouldn't shout at each other on the internet
Songtsan replied to Apech's topic in General Discussion
Yes/no - all things of the illusionary self are co-originated...learned responses from nurture/nature, so yes, others build your buttons, and no they don't. This is my final view, until you convince me otherwise -
Where Macroverse is defined as the sum total of all that exists, or has the potential to exist (even if it is nonexistent temporarily), including alternate universes, void, however many dimensions there are, how the hell is something unborn/acausal? Can there ever truly be nothing? Absence of anything? Acausality confuses me....

Can't respond in whole to your wonderful post, as I am at work right now, but I would like to respond to the part where you said that males were considered better...i.e. 'climbing up'....this is a real interesting topic to explore, and maybe should be done in Mount Kunlun....so I am going to start a thread real quick there, and get the ball rolling, then get back to work....

I can't say I buy from the best places as I am limited in funds...I usually buy from onlineapothecary or beyondacentury, mostly Now Foods, Doctors Best, and a few others...

Masculinity suggests muscles, near fearlessness, virility, machismo, ruggedness, stereotypically speaking. A sort of swagger. Not as expressive as females, more limited in scope. Now, gay guys could be masculine, or feminine.....
