They are often mentioned together, as a google search will turn up...but it be that they simply masquerade as various spiritual experiences, as they have much ability to create effects in the bodymindheart. Here is another interesting site: http://www.djinnuniverse.com/faqs-about-the-djinn

I have no experience with the Po... It would make sense that all these things that are similar and experienced in different cultures would have common roots - or at least that there wasn't quite so many different types. At least some of the different types between systems/cultures must be the three blind men describing an elephant. As far as Kundalini - maybe I never experienced classical kundalini, maybe the entrance of these types of entities can merely resemble kundalini awakening. See my old posts on Kundalini if you want some more info on that http://thetaobums.com/topic/30824-kundalini/ http://thetaobums.com/topic/30150-what-to-do-when-the-dark-night-of-the-soul-hits/ http://thetaobums.com/topic/30167-shaktichienergy-becomes-what-you-want-it-to-become/ http://thetaobums.com/topic/29788-on-kundalini-and-thought-constructs/

I said I had not tried a 'true exorcist' as of yet - the people who tried were in no way professionals...
-
I honestly think that they will project themselves as any deity you think they are...they don't seem to adhere to any particular name. One thing I have seen is that they watch the subconscious of the person they are connected to and become an expression of that persons belief system, imagination, or desires. So they do help out - in meditation, in writing, in many things - especially with states of being, attainment states, etc. and the intent is in the result as far as I am concerned.
-
I am following many pathways and finding the similarities between them all has proven fruitful. I have tried to be exorcised three times - once by a practitioner of Shamanism, once by a native american spiritual healer, and once by a Christian... All scientists will eventually try to fit things into their hypothesis, thats the nature of the beast. I cannot ignore that which makes extreme rational sense to me. I am certainly willing to explore other options however. My mind is not closed, yet it is not so malleable that I will immediately drop my beliefs because others disagree with me. I will tell you this - instead of trying to fight me in my belief, try to convince me of your belief - sans aspects which are anti my belief...

This guy also has the same idea, but he is Muslim: http://www.dangerofchi.org/ I have also been studying Qigong Deviation Syndrome, and I see lots of reports of individuals having energetic disturbances and suddenly being inundated by spirits. There has also been alot of cultural borrowing between Islam and Hindu/Vedic cultures over the years so it wouldn't surprise me if they both experienced the same things, yet simply named it something different. I know this for certain - whatever these spirits are, they are responsible for any spontaneous movements of 'other' intelligence in me (vs. natural kriyas). So it is highly likely, especially since the Jinn can create various energy sensations in the energy body, that what some call Kundalini arising is these guys, and what some might think is spirit possession is Kundalini arising - if these are in fact two separate things.
-
I am mostly convinced - which makes this my dominant working theory...I do not have enough energy at this time to write a term paper on it, but I have been studying it for years as I said...I won't be trying to proselytize anyone to my beliefs however.
-
Supposedly, the most extensive information on the Djinn is in the Koran. What are labels anyways...I could call them spirits, leprechauns, or whatever... That one site on Djinn claims that they are behind most if not all spiritual manifestations, if not UFOs and other things. I honestly don't know for sure, but its a good working hypothesis for now.

Alex Grey did a piece of artwork which showed a man who surrounded by different types of spirits who were surrounding him, enjoying the flavor of his emotions...I tried to find it, but can't seem to.
-
There is definitely an association. Are Djinn themselves kundalini shakti? I can't say for certain, but it seems incredibly likely. Other investigators say that the djinn can control the kundalini energy, or arrive when it awakes, as some form of channel is opened. So as of right now it is simply my opinion and that of some people that the awakening of kundalini nearly always involves some entry of the Djinn. Check this site out for fun: http://www.thejinn.net/a_separate_stream.htm

I think that there comes a point where they are already in and they don't leave simply because you ask/demand them to. IMO this is what Kundalini is all about. Many thousands of learned individuals in the world agree with me, including some who have had shaktipat. I don't fear them, they just make me anxious - perhaps that they will slow my spiritual work down, or other unfortunate things.

Tried it, didn't work...used various deities names.
-
Yeah - I saw them...but I am REALLY broke right now - plus I have hundreds of pages of Taoist material that I am behind in studying. I will likely buy that one some day however. Did you check out those other links I posted? - those look like interesting ones... The second link goes into Djinn Science - i.e. how to make use of the Djinn as allies. I don't necessarily disrespect or hate the Djinn - they can be quite nice at times...I am not sure that I trust them is all.

That image is from a Thankga that I hired a professional photographer to take a picture of...it was one of many Thankgas in the Nityananda Institute in Portland, OR. I used to know the name, but have long since forgotten. I believe that it is either a protector daemon or wrathful deity. You know anything about it? Honestly I have been meaning to change it, but I cannot seem to find the area to edit my sig...

I will check that out next time I have $$ for books. Thanks.

I have tested them over the past 18 years, with much sleuthing around in my own mind, analysis, and scholastic research. As far as I am concerned, Djinn, Kundalini Shakti, succubus/incubus, sheckinah, Daemons, etc. are all synonymous.

I guess I should rephrase my original question to say: "Should I learn about hexagrams?" This is one area I know not much about although I encounter it frequently here in TTB. I probably will study them eventually, but I have a lot of stuff on the burner right now.

I'll see what I can do - please realize that these are not thought constructs, although they will animate my own thought constructs to play games - there is a definite separate intelligence behind them. I have to admit that they are very neat to watch.

bad energy , negative attacks, what to do ?
Songtsan replied to suninmyeyes's topic in General Discussion
It's true - it mires you in action/reaction events. To step outside of habitual action/reaction events is to steal potential as far as I can tell - you then save that energy. Instead of going along with that flow, you simply see reality, and in the seeing, know whether to act or not in the typical karmic activities. Time is very much related to energy, for the use and/or storing of energy happens in time, even as it happens in the ever-changing moment. I think a big reason why people try to educate/train/manipulate others is to make themselves feel better in various ways (out of pride, oneupsmanship, out of a sense of hurt (with a reflected desire to chastise so as to make the other feel like they have been schooled), or many other reasons - including the feeling that posting in such an argument is a game of minds (hence the oneupsmanship). So energy is going out needlessly (if viewed from the stance of sealing away energy). When one delves deep into ones own reasons for playing the game, one can get a better sense of whether or not it's time to transcend the game - what is the benefit? Is it just ego primping? If so, then it simply gives one a pleasure of the ego mind and is like masturbating. If one is acting out of a sense of compassion - sees that others are so deluded that they must be chastised - what is the basis of that? Look deep - find the root source of the action and what that action is in reaction to. See why one is contributing to cause/effect chains, which are endless and have no beginning. This actually applies very well to the original topic of the thread. I think that most of us believe that negative attacks cannot hurt one who lives outside of such karmic wheels. That the hurt is actually caused by reaction to the action coming from the attacker. At least this is what I believe. So if one is unaffected by karma, living in true reality, one chooses without there being a mind that chooses (wu wei? actionless action, chooserless choosing?) then one is not caught up in the effects of participating in the inherent negativity that results from reacting to negativity. Think about the mirror effect. -

Personally attacking anyone's style and method of expression is judging/labeling/categorizing/etc. and is a thing of the monkey-mind reacting emotionally to perceived slights. If we step back and see every person as not-persons, i.e. mind-constructs, then we can save much time/energy in avoiding action/reaction (i.e. habitual karmic occurrences). This is illusions fighting illusions and trying to manipulate said illusions. Just ask yourself, "What would Buddha do?" Personally I think it can be a fun game to play, but always keep in mind that it is nothing other than a game of thought constructs battling it out. Do you come here to play? Then play away! Do you come here for work? Then don't shirk your work! Don't get distracted! There is no better and nor worse - no good and no bad - it is all relative. Are you here to shape others? Are you here to teach others? To train others? Be certain that you know exactly why you are here - and stick to your purpose! I just lectured y'all - so I must have some need to want to teach - and so therefore I judged you - I am a hypocrite if I say that my purpose isn't to do such things, but since I do it all the time, I must like it - so if indeed I come here to play such games, then I am no hypocrite...in any event, relative to everyone else, I am the same... Ramble ramble ramble, on the microphone I scramble - to say 'wise' things... -
I received these guests when I started doing hallucinogens - wasn't specifically trying to contact anything - they just appeared. Then when I was practicing Reiki, which I don't believe in anymore, I was also trying to channel my Reiki spirit guides, which really ended up being not my spirit guides. I have tried so many things to get them to leave - short of finding a true exorcist, which I will try one day, out of curiosity if nothing else, I feel I am stuck with them - I try to simply not feed them - by not focusing my energy inwards into my thought-worlds, and keeping my attention on the reality around me, I think it limits their influence. (that was a run on sentence for sure!)

I googled a bunch of Solomon's stuff the other day - I like the artwork, although I am not sure exactly which one you were referring to.

I already do this!

What did meditation do to me? Please read...

Also look up qigong deviation syndrome, AKA qigong sickness - it is actually in the DSM-IV now, so it is accepted in both the West and East. I should also mention that I have gone through long periods of time with no libido whatsoever, even with normal testosterone levels, etc. I will admit that I tried drugs such as wellbutrin, which is prescribed for sexual anhedonia. I gained much of my libido back by practicing sexual sublimation - i.e. no orgasm/no ejaculation - called NONE technique. One must be sure to maintain energy flow though when doing this - make sure that the prostate and epididymis remain uncongested by various exercises, including self prostate massage. I also used marijuana, which was like a super aphrodisiac for me. Depending on drugs is of course not ideal. You could certainly try naturopathy, TCM/CCM, etc. The problem here is that you are faced with a smorgasbord of potential causes and a smorgasbord of potential fixes. You will in effect have to become a member of your own treatment team. There will be a steep learning curve. Educate yourself and seek professional guidance from qualified individuals. There is a thread about Dark Nights of the Soul...I will paste a link.- 127 replies
