Mods: What happened to the Wirathu Threads?
Songtsan replied to silas's topic in Forum and Tech Support
I assume the Kundalini discussion may at least be in part be referring to my threads...I can certainly restructure things to fit any new updated rules, no problem. I tend to make new threads when the old one is pages back...also, I have noted that when threads are hundreds of pages long, that I have a tendency to not want to even look at them, simply because I will have to spend days reading them to play catch-up to where I can even post. All that matters is efficiency, keeping bandwidth/costs down, etc. Let's all analyze the most efficient way to help out the owners, bottom line. If they tell us exactly what the problems are, what everyone can do to help, and allow others to brainstorm ideas, we can co-create a most efficient system, as there are many intelligent people here. -
Question about relaxed diaphragm during seated postures
Songtsan replied to Songtsan's topic in General Discussion
Hmmm...! Interesting....so is it analogous to the dantien (mingmen?) area - just flip side? Do you anchor chi on both sides? If you have time, tell me more could you? -
OK: Here is what happens when the Kundalini awakens. It first sees us as we are, decides that we could be better than the best, and so what she does is she takes out your burdens. She attacks the things you like the most, such as wine, women, fast cars, etc. and makes them seem pale and lifeless to you. She does this as a teaching tool, because when the the Dark Night of the Soul hits, you become what they call in psychological terms 'anhedonic.' This forces you to examine the meaning of life, and find what we like to call in Kundalini terms, 'alternative pathways to ecstasy.' When this happens, you think you are gone, but you are not! You are merely went another way type-o-thing. Just so. If it hits you, just do this: find another way to gain ecstasy. Ride a bike, read a different book, take a look in a shop you have never seen before, etc etc. Sounds simple, huh? Nope. What she is doing is taking you on a walkabout of the reality matrix so she can see what life is like. She wants you to do new things. Not the same old boring routine. She is you, but you are not her...know what I am saying? You are not real! You are just an illusion! She doesn't care much for mind constructs, they just eat her up and make her come out and get REAL MEAN-LIKE!'s Then, she forces you to overcome her by becoming more interesting, say you make a trip to New Zealand, or you eat avocados (maybe you never ate them before!). Any time you do something new and different, she relaxes and let's you out of her grip!'s There are many Shaktis and all of them exist everywhere everyday, in every way. Basically she is environmental energy and she does not like to be stifled. When she is stifled, she gets REAL MAD!!!!!! Then she EXPLODES!!! and you might get hurt, like feel bioelectricity running up your spine, or you even get weird sensations like flowers coming out of your ears (Tinnitus ) These are called suppressed energy cycles. The suppressed energy builds up and starts tearing up your system, stopping you from having fun. So don't eat avocados all the time unless you have never tried them before, because before you know it, you will be in hell. What is hell? Hell is repetition, repetition, repetition........... Start doing new things every day and you won't have to go to school again. Do you hear me chilluns?

What to do when the Dark Night of the Soul hits

Good post. I see you know your stuff from direct experience. Yes, its healthiest to keep the energy circulating throughout the body so as not to overheat and create delusional mind states -

Yeah - I am definitely into MSM, also DSMO for external/internal use... So much good stuff out there, so little time/money! -
I still think its safe enough to practice some non-ejaculation/non-orgasm techniques to see what it is like to build up your libido, etc. Just be aware of avoiding congestion of fluids, mainly due to build up of prostate fluids, and congestion in the epididymis. Try going 2 weeks and seeing what the Yang chi in the head is like, then release (i.e. orgasm/ejaculate) a time or two and start over again. The chances of getting Yang energy stuck in head are small from what I have researched, as long as you release occasionally and focus on grounding the energy at all times

What to do when the Dark Night of the Soul hits

Unfortunately, I take so many things sometimes its hard for me to identify what works and what doesn't. Technically you should add one thing at a time and see if it helps - that could take forever though as some things can take a month or more to start becoming noticeable. My way of doing things is what I call 'over kill' or 'shock and awe.' Just take everything that has some good research behind it and at least some of it will work and you will get a nice placebo effect for the rest, if nothing else. Its really not that expensive if you look at it. Most people I know spend more money going out to eat than I spend on supplements. I really do feel a lot better when I take them vs. not. I make sure to study any possible hypervitaminosises and avoid that. I try not to take ego supplements like creatine, etc. - things that are purely for ego gains. I am purely health focused, so the chances of me messing with my kidneys or liver are lessened. -
that one is supposed to be about demon possession - supposedly the demons would sit on your chest and make it hard to breath - their are still people today who report this occurrence...its world-wide

I used to take it - it generally isn't a lack of willingness - its all finance dependent...I used to take MSM, glucosamine + chondroitin, curcumin extract, lobellia, SamE, and more joint/anti-inflammatory stuff - I can pop pills and take powders all day...by the 1/2 pound almost - literally I would be taking like almost 1/2 pound of supplements...I am an extremist! -
how's the heat today? Doth the sweat runneth over? Take a no-bath bath!

E, cranberry concentrate, pomegranate, and more. Just need some extra $$. I used to take so many antioxidants you'd puke. What to do when the Dark Night of the Soul hits

Yes, I can easily see your point. Often times my nervous system feels fried and worn down. I have gotten used to it. Not that that's good, but one can get used to anything. I do work on defusing it. I also like to ride the waves of extremeness, regardless of how unhealthy they are. I am thinking of getting some GABA, and starting to use melatonin too. -
I have realized what is mostly wrong with me (and right at same time): Here is the duality: Caring for self/caring for others -> let's start with the physical...seeing people suffering, I want to tell them how to heal themselves, teach them exercise, nutrition, etc. I am so polarized towards caring for others, that I am anti-polarized towards caring for self. I have little care for my self - not in a bad way - not self-hatred, not at all...just don't care - not interested - outside focused...I don't exercise like I should, don't eat like I know how I should, don't clean my room, etc etc. Suffering doesn't bother me. I simply am not interested right now - many more important things to do. It could be that excessive Yang extends outward towards others, and has no care for self...its a possibility I will be exploring. If Yin means caring/interest in self, then it makes great sense. My Yin must be small indeed. -mental/emotional/spiritual -> same deal - someone has a problem, I know all kinds of mental health techniques to help it. My mind is crazy...doesn't bother me one lick. It's not my interest right now to care. All my energy us going outwards. This book I am writing, I don't even care if it makes money, I just want people to know the stuff in it. It is also an ego thing - a desire long unfulfilled, so it is caring for myself..but i write best when I am caring mostly for others, worst when I am thinking about my own gain. I am not saying I am Mother Theresa..I still have vices and moments of angst, ego-defenses, etc. I am speaking to the average state of my being. I am not looking for advice here. Please don't post telling me how to learn to care for myself, what I should do, how I should think, etc. Don't waste our time. This is my choice. I am sharing my realization with you, because it can apply to anyone. Everyone already knew this stuff, but sometimes we forget. That's about it. EDIT: within the Yang, lies Yin...it is my great ecstasy to help others, and thus it gets me high, and so I do it for selfish/personal reasons..I am hooked on Yang juice.

yes - nonattachment, equanimity, and fearlessness - all very hard to attain and somewhat interrelated

Having money gives one a sense of security. Not having money is stressful to many. I don't like that - I feel that the movement away from hunter/gatherer to this organized system of inter-commerce is somewhat stifling to nature's way, yet also more secure in other fashions. Its not like a person will starve in this society, yet there are now these ego-demands on one to fit in. Its plus and minuses. Thats why I like being minimalist. I can live on ~$600-800 a month easily. Yet a person could live on no income - collect bottles, eat food out of garbage, sleep in cardboard boxes, etc. and still survive - many do! I dont fear that I couldnt survive no matter what the situation...if others can do it so can I, but its the ego-thing that gives me anxiety now. Imagine yourself with a guaranteed income that is enough to keep you in good shape regardless of what you do, and if you visualize it properly, you can see all that psychic tension melt away (at least it works for me). I find this interesting.

I've always been of the opinion that astral travel and lucid dreaming were synonymous...I have lucid dreamed, dreams so real that they seemed like astral travel must be...I don't know for sure though....

I would say that it would be useful to simply start becoming aware of the body in all its areas - not trying to do too much energy work/focusing, but simply roving around with your awareness, being curious - exploring lightly. Practice stillness and relaxation techniques. Learn to reduce the intensity of the nervous system upon demand. Relax subtle muscular tension, explore what it is like to place the conscious awareness in places other than the head. Get a general idea of the layout/structure of everything. Work on posture, breathing, contemplate your willpower. Maybe some basic 'standing post' exercises just to see what it is to hold a position in a relaxed way while keeping will strong. Study moving from your dantien, which is synonymous with your center of gravity. Also maybe experiment with some spontaneous movement in a non-attached way. Not try to resolve energy blockages, but see if you can locate anything that might be of such nature - see if you can identify unconscious muscle holding patterns - study such systems as Alexander technique, Feldenkrais, Laban movement analysis, etc. to get an idea of how movement patterns are programmed. You could also read up on the meridian systems, etc. just to get a general overview of where you will be going eventually.

I like minimalism. Not owning anything not needed. Make stuff yourself if possible - find smart ways to create art to decorate the house. Don't be attached to brand names/designer labels...buy quality over quantity, stuff that lasts vs. stuff that breaks. Eat only food needed, dont spend bunches of extra money gorging on snacks and stuff..Drink water vs. juice/soda...I can probably come up with a huge list of how to live cheaply - I am doing it now because I am unemployed
-
yep - just stay aware of your whole body - relax your face muscles often, feel your feet on the ground, stay in tune with your torso...don't disconnect
-
there are always miscellaneous costs. You can save money on travel by renting houses from locals, or even staying with locals - that is always fun...the question is where are you going to put your savings? The trick with making savings work is beating the yearly inflation % increase. If where you keep your $$ doesnt at least beat it by a few points, its not so useful.

What to do when the Dark Night of the Soul hits

I'd be interested in trying neurofeedback - but its sounds like it costs $$. I do use a regimen of vitamins and supplements - including magnesium, L-theanine, L-tryptophan, various healthy fats, and many others to work on my nervous system. I will have to increase my B-vitamins - see what that does. -
I am all about bhakti and bhavas...I am a melting pot of spiritualities...My Ishta Devata is basically Kundalini. My aim however, is to attain bhakti style bhavs for everything and everyone. Nondualist style. Or Krishna-consciousness style since you mentioned the avatar. I am definitely a believer in stillness as a gateway to unity consciousness. By stopping all the activity within, all the activity without can merge with us.
