  1. Bums I am missing

I loved Deci's word styles so much I tried to copy cat it to a degree sort of like one would share a favorite song with people to gauge their reaction to it, thinking is this stuff really as genius and amazing as it seems to me? So I experimented with it on people on the internet, then observed curiously. I know that I was so into it because it is often detailed like dominoes falling with no gaps and made perfect sense to my mind, with stylishness that was cuttingly fierce that intoxicated me and produced a great deal of that feeling of longing for something that I couldn't place what it was, as if I'd lost simething but had never had it. The word Scheherazade came to mind but that's not the word, though maybe that too in a way. Saudade. That's the one. I'd write a list of who I missed but Im avoiding list making to a degree. I tried to join that originaldao forum a number of weeks ago, but my intro post was deleted due to mentioning in passing Library Genesis, and I had spent some time writing it and as I have been having a hard couple of years it kind of shocked me. Then I checked back and thought my IP address had gotten blocked.
  2. Will be interesting being homeless if the world keeps going the way it looks. The USD seems prepping to become a not standard reserve currency, food and gas prices going up and up, government supported stalking and harrasment of homeless people seems well rooted and sunk deep into acceptability just under the surface. Dont come to Hawaii and be homeless, they won't want you here. I did almost a year and a half homeless here from the beginning of 2019 and also some time in NY state. There is much to be aware of if choose homelessness and if you aren't prepared it could make you stumble into a long term morass and age you at double or triple time rates and affect your length and quality of life so much so that you believe you are in a tragedy if life were a play or movie. You may notice things from a way different perspective and have your idealisms bashed out of your psyche in such a way as to tear your heart and give you a thousand yard stare.
  3. Swallowing saliva

What's the dealio with this? Read about it often enough and one of my tai chi teachers in Portland used to say that one should click the teeth and keep the tongue on the palate behind the teeth while swallowing the saliva...
  4. My Naturopath/LaC employer is mostly retiring soon and will likely be selling some of his books and supplies related to oriental medicine. His wife also has a large amount of TCM materials in Chinese and so basically at this time, I am putting together a list if there are some people who might be interested in making offers on any of the materials. Hopefully this drive link will work: https://drive.google.com/open?id=11Vhlz74OJMwJNFu9oQoeLYRqIzhbTScqh Also other related materials including a vintage ultrasound, ear candling stuff really old Bach Flower essence kits that are unopened and according to the people that make them, they don't lose their efficacy when passed the expiration date.
  5. Is quantum physics bunk?

  6. Calcium and the pineal gland

So, conspiracy theorists...do you think that all the drive to get people to take calcium supplements, drink milk, etc. might have something to do with trying to create calcification of the pineal gland for purposes of reducing intuition, creating sleep disturbances through interference with melatonin production so that people are more likely to die earlier, be irritable, etc. Population control and to create division in society, etc?
  7. Potassium

Why do you think it is that Potassium supplements are usually only around 3% of the RDA? I do know where to buy higher amounts, but it is strange that it is so low.....
  8. Anyone ever tried this stuff?

  9. What's going on here?

also looks a little like cells undergoing mitosis or whatnot.
  10. What to say when one kills an ant?

IN the tune of the Pink Panther theme song, sing, "Dead ant, dead ant, dead ant dead ant dead ant!"
  11. Any coin collectors here?

I've decided to sell my coin collection. I just don't do much with it. Mainly I have Indian head cents, some large cents, a few Flying Eagles and about 200 PCGS slabbed coins (modern varieties) of PR 69 DCAM or higher quality, including some SP 70s. I am selling at wholesale prices, usually less than half of what PCGS says they are worth. Let me know if interested.
  12. Light is Pure Awareness

I disagree. If I am born blind, with no areas of the brain that involve sight, I can still be aware. What about temperature sensation, sound, and other sense modalities that don't involve light at all? Awareness is something else other than energy - also it does not have to involve photons at all. It can involve the movement of small hairs that turn into an electrical signal. The awareness isn't even of the hairs movement at all - its of the signal that get transduced.
  13. Has anyone dealt with insomnia?

could also be to a ramped up fight or flight system, adrenals, etc. Besides things already mentioned, you can practice various meditations until you fall asleep, take some melatonin, valerian, or look at what you are taking during the day drug-wise, including caffeine, as possible catalysts for insomnia. Supposedly honey at night helps sleep too.
  14. thought-stopping skill

Thought stopping is useful but overrated. Why take a stance which originates from aversion? One branch of techniques neither tries to stop thoughts, or contributes to adding thoughts, it simply witnesses the flow in a non-attached manner; another way is to choose a specific object of focus and keep returning the mind to it. Thought stopping could be useful at times, but I think it also involves attachment to the thoughts, one way or another, so wouldn't be considered an advanced practice.
  15. Do some likes/dislikes last forever?

A person should be able to change likes/dislikes to a good degree. People learn to like pain, embarrassment, cold, heat, electric shocks -basically any kind of stimulus. People also reverse likes to make them at least neutral, such as people with addictions. They pair the addictive behavior with a negative stimulus. I think its mutable.
  16. This world is not real

Even 'fake' things have a reality
  17. Here members may post their canny, creative, and otherwise neat invention ideas for the purposes of sharing said ideas with humanity free of charge. Posting here does not mean you came up with the idea, it just means that you yourself haven't heard of it, and would like to share it, just in case it has never been done before. Please feel free to post pictures, schematics, etc. or even just a short blip about something you think might be cool.. I might change the formatting options to make things more clear, but for now, try to keep each idea in one post, and edit that post to reflect any updates. If people respond to your invention post with more ideas about your idea to improve it, you can then 'subsume' their recommendations into your original post, leaving credits to them in the post somewhere, and they can then delete their reply posts to keep the thread more clean, once their ideas have been integrated.
  18. Supplements you use

  19. Game of Thrones

Another good writer is Brandon Sanderson, who wrote the last book or so of the Wheel of Time series. He has a few good series, such as the Stormlight Archives...I also like Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series...
