Dealing with Trolls, Petty Tyrants and Socially Inept Posters
BaguaKicksAss replied to chegg's topic in General Discussion
Or for fun (and growth), we could always use this as a handy exercise. 1. Choose the 3 posters who annoy you the most, this should be really easy . Look on your ignore list if you are having trouble with this. 2. Ask yourself which aspects of what they post and their behavior and who they are annoy you. 3 a. Ask yourself which aspects of each of these people remind you of yourself and which aspects of yourself (damn mirrors) b. Ask yourself when is the first time you experienced such a person, or behavior, or the thing that annoys you about each person? Or even just other times in your life. 4. (optional) ask yourself "why am I closing my heart to this person. I've done this more than a few times, it does lead to deeper understanding of myself, as well as the posters which annoy me I have found. I also used to believe that the "trolls" all did this on purpose to annoy the rest of us... but I think for the most part it's more subconscious, their way of thinking, and just their "stuff". Some folks believe that it is not others anyways, it is just always our own stuff that is bumping up against us. This exercise is even more fun if you have a particularly long ignore list . -
You don't learn much that way though .

Is anyone else seeing what I am seeing? How is it to explain
BaguaKicksAss replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
Yes, more and more so with practice. Easy for "forget" though, but then just keep bringing yourself back. Btw, in your OP, you got the impression to take it easy (if I remember correctly), I would guess that is just a "don't go too fast or do too much to soon/all at once" caution is all . Wouldn't want to see past all illusion in one day, that would be quite rough on the psyche. -
Or perhaps said elderly lady would be like this one

Devious call for adding Christianity as a subforum

Why did I click on this one? LOL In all seriousness though, most members seem to prefer less subforums and less stickies, as opposed to more. (or perhaps that is "the most vocal majority") -

I think hot is more in energy, attitude and personality . -
LOL, yes I cheat on a few things, and you will note that I didn't list bottle hehe. This curry paste and I get along . Most bottled stuff not so much. If I stick to organic etc. I'm good. Hey wait, which thread am I in?

Best substance ever for making curries of various sorts . Though hand ground is even better if you have all evening (had it made for me that way once, wow). http://www.pataks.co.uk/products/product_search.aspx?tID=fc4a6845-32e2-490c-b892-05c4e28d60c2&hID=&keyW=

OK have my bottle of Sriracha here: Chili, sugar, salt, garlic, distilled vinagar, potassium sorbate, sodium bisulphate, xanthane gum.

Are you sure? I always get that chemical hangover feel whenever I use it??? Hmmmm, perhaps some spiced chicken with blue cheese is in order...

Now you've made me feel all guilty for my friend and I talking about a couple of hot martial arts teachers lol. I think anyone is hot who you don't have to live with and figure out finances with day in and day out, is the whole more "attractive than husband" sort of thing. Though personally someone who loves their path that much, to dedicate their life to it enough to teach it, is attractive. Though not my own teachers thank you, that's kinda weird, the whole family/sifu/father thing going on there... -
But, but, but, you can get homemade to die for hot sauce homemade at your local Vietnamese restaurants! Only about 1000x better than the chemically filled hot sauce .

That would scare away the weightloss crowd though, esp if brie is included. Now I need lunch. -

My post above reminded me of an aspect of teaching... it is odd, but people can and often do start to see the teacher as all knowing, supernatural, follow anything and everything they say and so forth. As soon as I uncomfortably noticed this, I started to encourage every student to work closely with their Deity and/or guides, intuition and so forth, so they have a wider perspective than myself, and can also tell if some stuff I teach them is for them or not. Blind following is not healthy IMO. -

Sounds like an awesome place! And less expensive than some yoga centers here . Here Bikram is really popular, because it appeals to the folks who want to lose weight. Well there is also the show off the yoga pants part of the scene here (said but painfully true). -

That's it, I'm starting a "hot Baguazhang" movement! No followers though please and thank you, just people doing it on their own. -
This one might be too deep for me in my a bit tired state... but am I missing something? I'd go help her across the street. (at home here I stop traffic for the older folks who cross in the neighborhood since there isn't a crosswalk at the end of our blocks). Though, if I got the strong impression to NOT help her.... that's a tougher one, I usually go with those impressions, but other times just tell the universe/guides to eff off LOL. Their I told you so's later are annoying though lololol.

Hmmm, I didn't see the song as sad at all. Always interesting how different works affect us all differently .

Seeing TTBs members having such animosity towards each other. Yes I know that realistically of course it is going to happen, we have a few thousand members, and realistically it is amazing that we all get along as well as we do. Still though, it saddens me that things are taken so personally, but also that things are directed so personally at times too. I think that sometimes we grow angry at the person posting, instead of just being angry at what they post. I find this unfortunate. Btw, I am definitely not saying that I am immune to this, and I find it fortunate that I can take some time to calm down and think about what I'm going to write sometimes lol. I will also admit to having made a few long-term internet enemies over the years lol. (no not anyone on here). I have also noticed that people tend to be quite different in PM or email, than when posting. They tend to be more respectful and just just plain nicer. This has made me think that this is likely the case with more people than just the few I have had the pleasure of getting to know better. It has helped me to be a little more understanding about members who's posts drive me up the wall. I cannot think of any way to have all this happen less, and tbh it is just reality. We are a group of people who have strong opinions, think for ourselves and don't tend to follow the herd, even the TTBs herd . It still does get to me sometimes though, especially in cases where I personally like both people who are trying to tear each other a new one. I can only imagine how this would all go if we were ALL in person at the same place at the same time. I'm pretty sure we would get thrown out of the park or restaurant rather quickly . Just some thoughts. PS hats off to the mods/admin :>.

This brings up an interesting point though. My first Bagua teacher explained to me that who your teacher is is relevant in more ways than one, since part of them and their energy is passed along with the system you are learning as well. I have found this since then to be quite true. Though hot yoga might be so watered down by now from the originator's energy/karma/nasty energy from his ethics that it doesn't mater, not sure. If the path is around before a highly unethical teacher that might be different, but when they are the path creator, I have to wonder... (not saying hot yoga is a bad path, just talking about energetics more).
