  1. Immortality: Yin & Yang or Pure Yang ?!

I had to look twice when I first saw this . Edit: yes there was more on the end...
  2. Immortality: Yin & Yang or Pure Yang ?!

I see it more as training the body to produce (and store what is produced) its own of like kind. This is from my experience and understanding so far. I think the abilities or powers of the folks are their ability to actually train this, store what is needed (their own or external) and actually utilize it properly. Nothing wrong with grabbing qi of various sorts from stuff around us, sun, moon, earth, trees though.... I drink water and eat fruit too :>.
  3. TTB Website Does has a True Taoist Environment....?!

My comment was actually sort of tongue in cheek, having a little fun . I always thought it was interesting to have a discussion forum about a work which started off saying to not discuss it. Obviously though, people can help each other with the understanding of it, and the various practices brought about by it. On a side note, I'm more one to read a bit and go contemplate or meditate on it, but not really talk about it. Come to think about it, I don't even talk about the Bagua songs. Fortunately though not everyone is like me, or the textual studies section would be pretty dead.
  4. Big Dark Cahuna ROFL ROFL ROFL. I like that term . At the time, the little ones each feel like a big dark cahuna whilste in the middle of them too! I don't think they ever stop really (even after the BDC), and if they (the smaller ones I mean) do, you are probably not working deeply enough....
  5. TTB Website Does has a True Taoist Environment....?!

Doesn't the DDJ start off talking about how it can't be spoken about, or it isn't the true Dao and all that? I tried to find a good version to post, but it appears there are over 75 translations.... so I'll stick with heavily paraphrasing.
  6. Underground City of Reptilians: NEWSPAPER ARTICLE

    Who needs TV?!
  7. I get Taoist spam once in awhile in one of my emails, not mentioning TTBs ever though; I think they found me through FB and just spam everyone on BKF's friends list...
  8. If it's that email which is shown right away on the first page of your website (which you have linked to in your profile), then that would be how they got your email addy...
  9. Man lived to the age of 256

Apparently he didn't bother with that whole retention thing .
  10. Man lived to the age of 256

I've seen that image before, some Bagua related website or something, and it wasn't blurred..
  11. Man lived to the age of 256

    thanks to google translate.
  12. Meditating in a graveyard

He mentioned being a bit afraid and nervous at first.... it is amazing how a need can sometimes overcome all fear (whether the fear is founded or not). Then over time he's comfortable there, I mean in the being in a cemetery sense.
  13. What exactly is a dan tien?

So after spending 10 minutes trying to find the proper image on google, I just drew one instead (which only took 5 minutes lol). "The lower dantien, Mr. Sketch scented markers on 11x7" computer paper" Edit: sorry there was no grey marker, had to use purple insead...
  14. Daoist Alchemy: Jerry A. Johnson

And this thread got me curious (but I didn't post earlier as I didn't want to go off topic, however now I see I'm in good company lol). I'm wondering, and please don't be offended, Taoists or Christians, as it is really something I'm curious about. A few folks said Taoism isn't religion, and the whole Jesus thing isn't part of it..... so I got to wondering what about the whole lighting candles and doing prayers to the Jade Emperor, the Three Pure Ones, Guan Gong (sp?) and so forth? How is this different than prayers and candles for different Deities? Or perhaps for Saints (people set out candles and requests for Christian saints all the time). I'm curious how it is different, in the sense of one being religion but the other not? I can see how they are different paths, different beliefs and entities but the practices look similar.
  15. Daoist Alchemy: Jerry A. Johnson

Holdonasec.... doesn't Jesus count as part of the Dao? I'd guess he does, since isn't everything and every being supposed to be part of the Dao? I'm not Christian personally, but I hold my family in my heart (for example), and would hope this doesn't get in the way of anything Daoist. I would personally figure the more I hold in my heart the better?
  16. Daoist Alchemy: Jerry A. Johnson

Found this neat vid, didn't want to start a new thread for it though
  17. I have stepped down as Tech. Thought I'd put my time into my many unfinished projects, and spend a little less time online as well . Fortunately Floflolil caught on amazingly fast, so you guys are definitely in good hands! Also Flo and Trunk can email me anytime with questions if you guys want (like which category to put regular members in :D ) Tech was fun; I even if part of it was sifting through thousands of ip addresses. I'll still post once in awhile, but am going to take a break from reading most threads, just for the simple reason of it is an awesome time waster! I guess this would be step 1 to how to remain in a meditative state 24x7?
  18. Meditating in a graveyard

They have events there year round, and they are run by the local artist community. Well the ones who also feel drawn to making the cemetery home for the community. Their view is that no one should be left out. If there are obvious religious displays, then folks of other religions would be left out is how they view it. Some of the events are quite popular and a few hundred people show up throughout the evening! They are also accepting of candle and food offerings. It is owned by the city instead of privately owned, which is why they are so open minded. There is also a giant all souls parade they have here each year. Needless to say it has a much better feel (in most parts of it) then most other cemeteries .
  19. Meditating in a graveyard

I attended an event in the local cemetery last night. I was there for about 3 hours in total. I went into a meditative state for my walk in (a few blocks) as well as my walk out. I discovered that a cemetery is the most awesome place for stargazing at night! Many blocks of non-artificial light! At the event we were wondering why more people didn't show up, then it was brought up about how perhaps not everyone is comfortable walking a couple of blocks through a pitch dark cemetery at night to go to an event.... Several hours later when I did my usual MCO type practice (with a few other aspects), I noticed that it flowed a bit more smoothly, which I found interesting. It was nice being in a place in the city with so many trees and no streetlights, that is quite easy to get to. It was most definitely a very peaceful experience. The presentation for the evening was on building shrines. There were some very amazing ones shown. The local cemetery also goes out of their way to be non-denominational. So you do not see anything specific from any religion at all. However they do have people who show everyone how to do the proper hell money, joss paper and so forth offerings.
  20. Meditating in a graveyard

You guys have humbled me with your amazing quoting and quote nestling skills!
  21. Meditating in a graveyard

Bring in lotsa yang heaven energy . Or at least that is what I do. Cleansing bath if it feels like "not healthy" yin energy.
  22. There's an interview somewhere of the authors admitting that they made it up, and what they based it all on . They did base it on some real stuff, just bits and pieces at random though. More Babylonian than Voudon. I haven't noticed any similarities to the Voudon veves myself, but feel free to elaborate . http://www.chaosmatrix.org/library/chaos/texts/simnecro.html is interesting.
  23. Meditating in a graveyard

I have noticed, that posts can only be so long when quoting lots, so perhaps 2 posts for really long ones. Also no worries at all about going off topic, this is definitely interesting, and educational . Though I am tempted to ask a mod to split part of this over to the Hermetic section... *looks around for mods*.
  24. What are the moderators doing?

Stewards cannot see the report area, nor where mods discuss reports. I'm quite surprised that no one has volunteered to Steward over the pit!! Joking, I think that is the one area that isn't covered by stewards lol.
