Mods: What happened to the Wirathu Threads?
BaguaKicksAss replied to silas's topic in Forum and Tech Support
Basically if there is a thread titled "how to raise kundalini" then another "kundalini, up for down first?" then another "how to keep balanced with kundalini practices" and yet another "the controversies of kundalini" all within a few weeks, there just might be some topic/thread merging that will happen. But in some cases, there is the exact same topic or post (a silly example "the various colours of the heart chackra of kundalini") which happens in the dozens... over and over again, those most definitely would be merged. Your posts seem pretty varied so far. -

These guys are my fave: http://www.thehungersite.com/clickToGive/ths/home You can donate, or buy stuff from fair trade store, or even just click on the banners, it all goes to the charity mentioned (hunger, breast cancer, education, etc.). Before donating to any charity, definitely checkout the links at the bottom of this wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charity_fraud as well as here http://charity.lovetoknow.com/What_Percentage_of_Donations_Go_to_Charity to see what % of what you donate actually goes to the people. A friend worked for a telemarketing company which was the call center for a number of charities. If the person actually asked what % of their money goes to the people they had to say. Apparently 1% in some cases was higher than most! Keep in mind they had to pay the call center, the advertising, the employees wages, and etc. Personally I often prefer to donate to local shelters and food banks, or hospitals to be sure.

More Pie Guy's Tips On Saving Money
BaguaKicksAss replied to Thunder_Gooch's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I re-read it... mine are a bit different... I don't watch TV. The tapwater here is safe to drink (so I don't buy bottled water either, I fill up the empties from the odd time I do with tap water). I bicycle everywhere, and take a taxi a couple of times per month. Transit is good here too (it isn't in many places). However one of my friends who I mentioned above also bikes everywhere). I stopped shopping in thrift stores after everyone started to do it and the prices went up. Now I shop at the manufacturer's warehouse sales. I happen to really like high-end workout gear . 80% off is good with me! I have a roomate, but still have 3 bedrooms a yard and a garage, so all is good. I don't shave, being female and all (and no leg hair, thank the gods). Showers, don't mess with my shower! I don't mind paying an extra $20-$50 per month for nice hot baths and full water pressure in my shower head . I'm also too lazy to hand my clothes to dry, all my chinese neighbors (that would be all my neighbors) all hang their clothes outside though. Of course they also have giant veggie gardens too! I shop at the chinese veggie markets for my veggies, and the meat market for my meat. Supermarkets are too expensive and also really low quality for both of the above. I buy any canned food at costco, costco rocks!!! More pie guy, go shop at costco! Our dishwasher actually takes less water than washing them by hand, one of those fancy energy saving ones. I use LED lightbulbs... that is just out of preference though. I cross border shop as much as possible. I live in canada so have free medical. I fly to the US from tues-thurs because fares are less then. I do international travel in February because it is by far the least expensive time of year (half price sometimes). I stay in 2 star hotels when I travel, or youth hostels if international. Said 2 star hotels always come with a fridge so I can eat healthier than eating out. I tend towards Pho or good low cost sushi when eating out, but try to avoid eating out as it isn't very healthy. I compare prices online for purchases. Saved about $1000 on a $3000 purchase for my business lately. I shop wholesalers instead of retail when I can. I usually end up getting things brand new for half the price (same brand) as other folks. Considering how much I spend per year on stuff for my business, very much worth it. I learned to do most of this when I realized I had to save up $5000 in 6 months once. I just stopped eating out, shopping at less expensive places for groceries, and hit up ebay for anything else needed. -

Your kidding right? That would be sort of like me (since I really like Bagua) starting 8 threads all within a month: 1. Park Bok Nam and Bagua 2. Park Bok Nam's books about Bagua 3. Park Bok Nam's version of the horse stance 4. Park Bak Nam's first book about Bagua 5. Park Bak Nam's 2nd book about Bagua 6. Is Park Bak Nam better at Bagua than Dong Haichuan? 7. Is Park Bok Nam a nice guy? 8. Will Park Bok Nam give me a kickback for all this promo? Though I admit I have been sort of tempted with Andrew Nugent-Head! Seriously though, it's overkill, no matter the topic. -

My comment was not based on your posts at all CrunchyChocolate, it is just that some of the replies were getting slightly heated, so wanted to remind everyone to keep it friendly . Btw, you have been offered a LOT of options, pretty cool. I hope you find one that works best for you, at least now you know there is much help around. -

Narveen, I have my own set of money saving things I do, and the point is so that I can enjoy international vacations as well as private martial arts instruction from a teacher across the border. My friends who make the same amount I do can't seem to afford either. -
Is Sifu Jenny Lamb a legit healer?
BaguaKicksAss replied to CrunchyChocolate555's topic in General Discussion
***Moderator note*** While charging lots of money for healing is a controversial topic, please be sure to keep it respectful. It has been fine so far, but a couple of posts did come close to being a bit personal. Just be careful on the wording folks. You can call someone out and keep it respectful, and you can stand up for someone who you feel is legit and also be respectful. So not a warning perse, just a make sure to keep your wording respectful, as we are still talking about a person here, and a board member at that. Threads like this can easily get nasty if we aren't careful. -
Also depending on what you are selling, there are sites like Ebay and Etsy who do all that advertising stuff for you. The commission really isn't that bad considering the exposure. And... it only takes a few sales to get the word out via referrals.

Good news, I have been in business for myself for 8 years now, and have not had to resort to that sort of marketing at all! I am just very straightforward on my website and do the best quality products I can. Of course it takes time, but most of my business is from repeat customers . I also recommend social networking to get the word out, but you don't have to be all markety about it. The funny thing is, when I tried google adwords a couple of times, the sort of emails I got from people weren't really the sort of customers I was looking for or in most cases would want!

Is Sifu Jenny Lamb a legit healer?

It is truly amazing what martial arts teachers can help out with qi deviations/qi not going well/etc. kinda stuff! Well also even the most mundane of internal martial arts teachers still realize there is at least qi in the practice. In Bagua class if anyone comes in with a bit of a problem with energy (or I sense something up), then we will do specific exercises to help balance that out. Then they are given homework along the same lines of course. You teacher might recommend something like the horse stance to you though . That is one method Bagua (for example) can clear stuff out, go figure huh? -
Is Sifu Jenny Lamb a legit healer?
BaguaKicksAss replied to CrunchyChocolate555's topic in General Discussion
Yes we have to be very careful what we tell people, even if we beleive it themselves. We always have to empower them with our words, never dissempower. I don't remember the specifics, but basically there was a case with two patients where their results were mixed up. The person without some fatal illness (I think it was cancer but I don't recall now) was told they were going to die shortly of such and such. They did. The other person was told that they were fine, they got better. Later on the hospital realized their mistake and were quite surprised when they did later testing on each person. Each person had ended up living out the "test results" they were told! (source Jerry Alan Johnson's cancer seminar DVDs; sorry for not remembering the specifics). Obviously this isn't always the case, but it is interesting how strong belief can be sometimes. -

From your descriptions it sounds more like you screwed up your qi somehow temporarily. I would recommend training with a qigong teacher, and explaining what happened before doing too much else. If they are any good, they can give you specific qigong to fix things right up. Since it's about the patient doing the healing after the first set things in order by the healer anyways. Salt baths just in case there is an entity attached to you. -
Is Sifu Jenny Lamb a legit healer?
BaguaKicksAss replied to CrunchyChocolate555's topic in General Discussion
Two people have posted on the forums in the past few months being told the same thing by the same healer Jenny Lam in this case) that they had an entity (the chances are unlikely it is anything major if they are still asking for help and typing coherently), and that she was the only one who could fix it, and that it was around $12000 to do so. This is what concerns me. Well yeah, that and entity removal can be done by many people, and also many can work with qi deviations as well if that is the probably. Most charge around $40-$80-$100-$200 per hour for such things, and it doesn't take 120 hours for sure. -
What are the criteria for threads winding up in the pit?
BaguaKicksAss replied to ralis's topic in Forum and Tech Support
Ralis, I'm curious about your take/suggestion on this (which does not necessarily mean we will go by it, but you might have an interesting perspective this time). OK so there was bitter complaining about us "censoring" the "Zimmerman" thread. Now it has downgraded further and what you feel are racial slurs being used. So do we lock it? Leave it how it is? Locking it would be even further censorship... yet on the otherhand there is no reason to let a thread go on which is overly offensive. (as opposed to just sort of offensive like it was before).
