  1. What the hell is the abyss anyways?

You guys ruined my thread *grumbles*...
  2. My, that is quite the collection! Though if there are only 7 chackras (or 9 if you add those 2 extras) what would about 30 tuning forks be for?
  3. For Nungali http://www.acutonics.com/tuning-forks-professional.php
  4. I really liked his "retreat" suggestions . How come the non-sentient beings always get left out?
  5. Meditation harm?

Has anyone else had the experience that looking back at your path and progress over the years, you realize that the times you thought you were doing really well, were the times you were making the least progress, and many of the times you thought you were not doing very well you were actually making the most progress? Not always of course, but it does seem to be more prevalent than not. I've seen this happen with some other folks too.
  6. Magick and the occult creeps into the realm of newage more and more each year as it becomes more accessible and armchair magickians get away with publishing books. Is the newage stuff relevant? Most of it is a distraction and just feeds the ego imo.
  7. Meditation harm?

    Yes, yes, ....keep going .
  8. My new Buddha statue

I see you haven't filled in your magical name on your GD water chalice yet .
  9. Hmmm? That whole this regular life is so horrid that one wants to give it up to become a nun, or monk or whatever, makes no sense to me. Personally I see it more along the lines of this life is pretty awesome, even more awesome when I am in my practice and do so in most of my free time, so I can clearly see how folks might want to convert that into 24X7, to make things even more awesome . Not the lifestyle for me, though a month or so would be enjoyable, I more prefer to have the best of both worlds at this present time .
  10. Spiritual career

That are legit? Not really. Though once you have your bachelors, some universities have a mythology program which is quite extensive. Or perhaps anthropology, or religious studies. 8 years of schooling, which is standard for quite a few careers. Then there are the fake university degrees some people fall for, that you can buy from the universal life church. (only people without any critical thinking skills fall for those). Hmmm now that I think about it, University of Berkley has some pretty out there programs.... Just looked, wow, you can get a university degree (Doctorate) and listed as Sadhu before your name on the certificate! (for $119!) You can also get a certificate which says you are a saint (for an extra $10)! This is how many of the newage authors and speakers claim "Dr." . I don' recommend this route, I'm just bringing it up because it is sort of humorous.
  11. There's lots of newage weekend workshops to help with that...
  12. On being a little Strange

    I was thinking black sheep..
  13. Living off grid

What are you talking about, out there in the bush, satellite uplink would work just fine!
  14. C T, I don't quite remember where you live... but I think you need to move! lolololol That's highway robbery there, is half that price around here....
  15. Spiritual career

I don't see why spiritual and career can't go together. My teacher actually sort of pushed me into it; he felt that me practicing for 4-8 hours per day everyday (instead of my hour or 2) would really up my progress. He was right. So he gave me many pointers. At least now folks get to train with me or purchase my items instead of from some book learned wanker . I hope though that anyone getting into this has at least tried to run a mundane business first and/or helped others with their mundane businesses... and of course have proficient spiritual skill/training in their particular spiritual path (not self taught).
  16. Spiritual career

They call their spiritual retreats, people from all over the world will pay to join you. You need really good promotional and graphic design skills to pull this off though. However, you likely have to have been practicing for at least 20 years to pull this off, as you have to have something extremely valid to teach. (well or not, but....)
  17. On being a little Strange

I fully get that, it is difficult to find someone on a similar path, and even more difficult to find people who actually practice every single day! I fortunately always meet magical people everywhere I live, but then have to weed out a bit to the ones who are a good influence on myself instead of a bad influence . Actually our city is full of reiki masters who took a 4 day workshop LOL; I just use meeting them to help me overcome my judgementalness, it's hard, sooo hard lol. That is what I like about the Bums too, there are practitioners on here where their practice is also the most important thing in their life .
  18. Living off grid

So did anyone watch the video? Apparently I shouldn't have made the joke because for some reason that is the new tangent. It was only a joke.
  19. Living off grid

Bah, solar power and modern appliances, that's cheating! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1itjmq_ben-fogle-new-lives-in-the-wild-series-2-3of4-leyte-philippines-720p-hdtv-x264-aac-mvgroup-org_shortfilms I could do it... for a few months.
  20. It's all about what the deceased person wanted for themselves. Think about how much it would suck if you were standing there watching people going against your wishes during those 49 fading away days...
  21. What exactly is the mind and where is it located ?

In the heart apparently. But Canadians (westerners), we think it's in our head. Or so I was informed this evening .
  22. On being a little Strange

My friends, are all just as unique as I am, but in very different ways . I'm very fortunate. OK so that's why we keep coming back to TTBs, I get it now...
