  1. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

You sure your not astral projecting (just beside yourself in your room)?
  2. Teach for free? You can all go.....

OK that's it, never taking a helicopter flying lesson or going to a hospital again... LOL Though good plan really, teaching is the best way to learn... people ask questions you hadn't thought of. Also they are good mirrors "oh crap, was I really doing it like that?"
  3. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

Sounds familiar. When I used to get pain for 8-24 hours straight, pain level 9 or 10, and just got sick of the whole hospital thing... I would use some really extreme altered states to manage the pain. It worked. No idea if this was a good thing or not, but it was needed at the time. Sure beat various medications which barely worked anyways. Whether it was just a really deep state, or astral projection though might be up for debate. Though I never managed that for 7 hours straight, I would go in and out of it. Somehow the same method never worked for my horse stances lololol. (but I think with horse stance the idea is to stay aware).
  4. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

If I sit with your back against a wall and some pillows if need be, no joint pain! 7 hours though, that would be rough lol.
  5. That makes perfect sense, thank you .
  6. Sitting meditation: for how long do you sit?

You really mean do it in horse stance don't you?
  7. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

LOL that is the oddest thing when that happens LOL. I had to admit I snore after that .
  8. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

Ken I'm curious.... you meditate for 7 hours (or however long), do you have any idea how long you are able to stay in that between waking and sleeping state? Sometimes I find that when I am in a really deep state it is easy to go on and on and on, and other times I go and ruin it all by thinking then sink right back lol.
  9. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

I personally think that the most important bit is to get BKA (or Ken or Joe, or whowever) out of the room/session . The Buddhists folks state that one must stay aware and not lose awareness (but not have all those pesky thoughts either, and not be thinking about what is for dinner). Some of the more shamanistic paths go for completely unaware, even to the point of not remembering what happened necessarily.
  10. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

Yeah I got that one the other day, and other interesting things too. Nah I think what Joe means is that the whole you *have* to be in that state, no others work!
  11. Death, Dying and Next---- Thoughts & Speculations

If you post your responses to him in a nice way out of compassion and caring (you did once that was cool) it is likely he might pay more attention to them. I have seen most of your posts to him (as you follow him around) as pretty degrading. Not saying he doesn't do that to, but not nearly as many times. Edit to add: as if "read them slowly enough isn't just another derogatory statement....
  12. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

We all need a hobby .
  13. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

Are you trying to kill this thread? Following Ken around like that...
  14. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

I got a good one the other day, I know it was a good one because when done I asked myself "oh when did that jackhammer behind my house stop?" LOL It was mediation time, and I really wanted peace and quiet, but thought I would try and see what happened hahaha. Not going to be something I do regularly. Better than wanting to go strangle said jackhammerer though I figure
  15. Teach for free? You can all go.....

Large amounts of money from teaching ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL I need to stop laughing before I can reply to the rest of this . I know a LOT of teachers. I don't know any teachers who are rich. Of course they do exist, and I think they usually do the newage seminar circuit, but most teachers, so not rich. I would say that most do it because they like to help others.
  16. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

So try this ... spoken by someone who has (unfortunately) much experience with using mediation to get rid of headaches... Start mediating like you normally do, take 5-15 minutes to get into a decent depth of state... then remember that perfect relaxed headache goes away state. Feel it like you did the last time you mediated and it worked. Now sort of put, or force, or bring, yourself into that exact same state. Mimic it. Change yourself, your consciouses and the energy around you to all match that state. It takes a LOT of practice, but can most definitely be well worth it . I learned this because there have been times where I had to fix a situation where I just didn't have time to sit down and slowly get into a really deep state, I needed it within a few minutes...
  17. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

Personally I feel it is more about doing it every single day. You build up something from that, which makes all the sessions much deeper, stronger, work better and etc. Even every 2nd day doesn't do this, but daily does. I'm working back up to every single day again, after slacking for a couple of years and just doing it at random.
  18. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

Tell that to me again after 25 years of practice .
  19. What is the longest you've ever meditated?

Thats cause your your younger than and a few less car accidents than me lololololol Though trying it next time that I naturally hit a really good state early in could be interesting . It is not something I have tried for my own practice though, not so sure I could pull it off. Maybe it just takes years of practice. I have not personally found mediation to not get any deeper the longer I do it (accept for the first 5-10 years of it maybe). The 15 minute to half hour mark is where it gets really strong and I get odd stuff like I can't tell if I'm dreaming or not, but I'm awake, and... I just tell BKA to go play somewhere else and don't bug me during the mediation .
  20. Why is it that one can't cultivate both to a strong degree at the same time? Such as yin one day, and yang the next... Do they just mesh together or something?
  21. Teach for free? You can all go.....

I live in Canada, British Columbia. It's awesome here, especially during this time of year . I've been practicing some neat magic stuff for awhile. I'm sort of cranky sometimes (as you can tell by this post) lol. I make jewelry as a hobby and as a job, and spend most of my time making jewelry and practicing Baguazhang. Oh I practice medical qigong as well; it is awesome. What do I know, hmmm... Did I mention I'm currently pretty busy and not looking for students? I know some neat stuff about magic, a little about Bagua (and teach that to locals sometimes, hope to get back to that soon; it's nearly free as I get to practice too. I tend to teach what the person *needs*. People come to me thinking they want something, but after a few students a teacher starts to be able to tell what a person actually needs to work on, instead of what they think they want that minute because it looks all fancy and impressive. I guess I will start out on what they think they want, but that doesn't last long. That's with the local students. The distant ones where one or both of us travel for lessons, we figure out beforehand in email what the teachings will be. It's all fun, I've just been overworked lately. My expertises, well I'm sort of private, and I don't talk much about on these forums. If you read my past posts you might figure it out . Though really, honestly, not hunting up more students . Btw, read your other post, I am far from famous, even if I used my real name, no one would have heard of me. That is actually why I got to thinking that the famous teachers must have people asking for teachings and help about 1000 times what I do.
  22. Teach for free? You can all go.....

Sometimes I feel that way lol. But.... (and we are an entire board of compassionate people here) When someone comes to you to teach them, and they have more natural talent than you have ever seen before, and can just tell they are a perfect fit for the path.... or When someone is in a place in their lives where they can suddenly barely make ends meet, ere worried if they will be able to pay their rent, are going through saturn return, and barely even ask for help.... or The spirits you work with say "teach this one" and you find out they make minimum wage or They are a fellow TTBer and they are homeless and going through hell... (don't tell me that any of you would have turned down that particular person ). *sigh* However; there are so many hours in the day, and one only has so much energy, sooooo The out of towners have to pay, since I have to travel, and they tend to have incomes which are at least double mine .
  23. Teach for free? You can all go.....

I have 2 awesome students I do trade with, and they are wonderful at keeping up their end . This is actually my preference, especially if the person is having trouble making ends meet (it's amazing how people who make quite a bit can still feel they are in this category). I have found that it sometimes gets difficult with friends, they don't realize that their dozens of questions over coffee are sometimes like work for me. (I'm still having trouble figuring out why sometimes this is a great joy and othertimes it feels like work, I do realize I have some personal stuff to work on with this too). But friends where you both help one another, and especially help each another to advance in life and spiritual practice, are just awesome!
  24. Teach for free? You can all go.....

Now one argument *for* people always teaching for free that I have heard, and I can see how it might be valid.... When someone is not making money from the teaching, they will not be tempted to teach people they shouldn't, or information they shouldn't, nor water down the information to make sure their students keep coming back. Also some people are suspicious when things are given for free (I've run into this, I just like to help everyone sometimes). I'm sure we've all heard of the various "gurus" and cults... not all of them involved money.
