  1. Baguazhang weapon ;)

    Chicken feet I think .
  2. Ancestral Work and Building your Altar

JAJ talks a lot about prenatal stuff that we have, and that needs healing as well. We bring their blockages and stuff along! So apparently it is a general view with medical qigong in china...
  3. New member - Internal Alchemy vs. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Step 1. find a teacher . Step 2. go over stuff with said teacher to make sure it wasn't your practices which led to the CFS (I have seen this happen a few times). Over practice, too many different practices, slightly wrong practice, wrong practice for you in particular... or whatever. Step 3. start practice again with advice of your teacher / someone who can see and assess your condition/energy.
  4. Yep, a few times . So which is dream, and which is "reality" in our day to day "waking" state?
  5. Baguazhang weapon ;)

I haven't learned a chicken feet, er I mean deer hooks, form yet . In about 20 or so years, I should be getting to where he is at....
  6. Ching Sung interview answers

Scroll up, I have added the first 4 answers. When they are all complete, I will also PDF them.
  7. Qigong systems

Bagua is extremely good, though it's hidden within a martial arts system .
  8. Mixed internal arts - MIA

I personally don't like mixing relish and peanut butter... Though mixing a couple of different curries together can work.
  9. How they do it in China

There are a few parks around here with people doing qigong each morning, as we have a very large Asian population. Many of them practice indoors in the community centers though.
  10. Qigong systems

Oh I don't know about that, I have run into some qigong which I'm pretty sure wouldn't do much of anything for anyone! I've also run into some which would likely damage most folks.... Fortunately most of the well known systems aren't to bad .
  11. Qigong systems

You will get a completely different answer from each person regarding the order, as well as what they include and not include on the list. This is generally based on each person's particular biases since most folks haven't tried more then 2-3. Also everyone thinks their system is the best, or obviously they wouldn't be training that one . f I would say the strongest, most affective and most powerful qigong system is..... The one you practice daily. .
  12. A year of Agrippa :)

That CD rom is worth every penny!
  13. I have met people who have dabbled with various books, without a teacher. I have found far less people screwed up badly from the practice, from Grimoires, than from the various Newage books (especially those which promote channeling). So I would say that Newage books are most dangerous from what I have seen.
  14. Most Like Content Error

Not really because it is all about votes and folks voted for it before it was deleted. Unfortunately we can't change it either...
  15. A year of Agrippa :)

ZYD, that was much better than my approach! So I decided to start this up, complete with a local in person group as well... then 2 weeks later I went from 1 Bagua student to 5...(2 of which train twice per week) then also I found out I'm going to be taking Medical Qigong 3 in a month and a half and need to read 500 pages by then, of not Agrippa lol. Since there are a few interested, I'll still continue, but perhaps with a little less gusto lol.
  16. Allopathic medicine doesn't believe in energy.
  17. Hi everyone

Welcome . Thank you guys for clarifying that you are in fact 2 different people, but the same computer! Be sure to read over the rules and such. Enjoy your time here and jump right in to the conversations.
  18. Not related to this thread really, just to this comment.... So I run this magic meetup group each week. I have found that the people who have read the most books and have the most intellectual knowledge, but the least actual practice, are the ones that the brand new (to both magic and the group) folks tend to look up to and respect the most. *sigh*
  19. The qualities of a true leader "princess"

    Humbleness.
  20. A year of Agrippa :)

Put all those other books aside and read Agrippa instead! You will thank me later . lol
  21. It's awesome and all that you have written books, are world famous, led workshops and classes with thousands of people and such. Also awesome that you have this amazing lineage. HOWEVER, seriously folks, teach EVERYONE the basics, the principals, the stuff that actually makes it WORK! Because if you don't, when your students go train with others, and the new teacher says "OK so you know the standard posture, we can skip over that as it is your first class", and the student looks confused and says that hasn't been covered before.... it makes you look bad. Really bad. I don't mean that the student doesn't have good posture, I mean as in have never heard of feet about shoulder width apart pointing forward and/or tailbone under and/or head/neck up straight and etc. (varies a tiny bit by path), mingmen out, tongue to the roof of the mouth (seriously, some of you guys skip that bit, wtf?), anus and/or perinium and/or genitals tensed a bit (or a lot, dep on path)... some of you folks skipped ALL that?! This is first class, or at least first few classes sort of stuff! Not skip it during an entire 4 month course, or a bunch of several day long workshops. Seriously, what were you thinking? You really honestly think having the student stand there however and wave their arms about a bit is considered qigong? You think that random posture and no structure = martial arts?! Or how about famous Bagua teachers who call walking about in a circle just as one is walking down the street circle walking?! Oh sure it's difficult as hell, especially for new folks, but there is a lot more to it than just wandering around in a circle! Such as that posture bit mentioned above. Structure. Where to power from, and etc. Yes, yes I know, not every student is your disciple, or even necessarily good at it. That is irrelevant, sometimes the "worst" students end up being the best in the long run simply because they practice more. Also even for someone who doesn't practice much, correct practice will help their health at the very least. Perhaps you think "oh they won't understand it in the first year or two". Yeah whatever, try anyways, give them something to work on, something which should be taught from day one so they don't end up with bad habits, bad practice, qi deviations or other ill affects, or perhaps just make your teaching and you look bad. Famous teachers, I feel you should take your art and your teaching more seriously. Your students deserve it. The path deserves it. There has already been enough lost over the centuries; we don't need huge gaping holes in the fundamentals to completely destroy the art all together! On a side note, fortunately every single teacher I have ever trained with (accept one, which I only attended a few classes with), covered the essentials very early on. Yes this is all true, yes these are actual experiences, yes I mean more than one famous teacher.
  22. I think this thread is turning into "Students you need to seriously up your game" So most folks that I teach, fully get it, at least intellectually that some things are really important and should be focused on. However others argue, or say they would just prefer some forms. It is unfortunately difficult to get folks to focus on the beginning exercises (which are the most important really, at least in this system). Some prefer forms though, since well forms are kinda more fun . Also as mentioned above, that at home practice thing, that is really important too. Means you get shown more awesome stuff next class. And pretty please, don't tell me how your last school did it, because we do do it a little differently, and I'm pretty sure there are good reasons for each and every angle, that I can't always show you to your satisfaction. Different class types for different folks though I figure, mine for lots of focus on the exercises which work the tendons, different meridians and such. Then some circle walking. The form comes later, 6 months to a year later. Hmmm, I just realized I'm more patient than I thought since that was my timeline as well. (crappy memory, probably took me a year lol). I have taken forms classes, they are fun. I have also taken 90% applications classes, those are fun too. Oh hell nevermind, as long as it's Bagua....

  24. .

We need a trad witchcraft sub forum .
  25. How soon though? Many teachers have the argument that most quit within the first few months, then most of the rest within 2 years...
