  1. What would you ask a master?

His patience for people asking him to do tricks is more impressive than any tricks themselves! I am not a master, so I would shove their cel phone... oh nm .
  2. What would you ask a master?

I can't beleive it 12 posts and no one has thought of "soooo how do you merge/mix/combine yin and yang energy?
  3. Definitely agreed Trunk, in person is so important. Also good for feedback, even if neither person is at teacher level. I have learned so much teaching others!! Even just talking with others, while showing each other physical movements can be extremely educational. Also there is nothing like Bagua video night! We also sometimes have cheese kung fu movies night lol.
  4. Yes this forum definitely does allow very wide differences of opinions, as well as personalities . Also there isn't bias towards particular systems or ways of going about things. I like that. It also seems to be more open minded than most forums.
  5. I looked, I can't change that aspect. Ah well, those who are just trolling the Bums might admit it anyways, who knows .
  6. I think it's a good thing. I run into mundanes while I'm out all the time, and engage in interesting conversations, but just nothing to keep it going... Since I spend 80% of my life on my spiritual and martial pursuits I don't have much interest in say going to the mall or watching TV (which most mundanes seem to want to do).
  7. Actually I think I just find people intuitively, and likely vice versa. We can sort of just tell each other. Though the middle management folks you describe above tend to shun me, unless they are the middle management by day, and various odd and interesting practices by night sort . I guess I also attend things like meetup, or create my own as well though, until I find a few folks I get along with, then stop going lol. Btw,met 2 TTBers in person, then a couple of others I got to know pretty well over chat and/or phone. All pretty awesome people . All actually quite different in person than how they post on here now that I think about it lololol.
  8. We all keep stuff silent about our practices for various reasons... but I have found that even talking about the weather with another practitioner is more interesting than with someone who has not been there done that. Also there is always some stuff one can share. At a guess your teacher meant to the general pubic (unless its a secrets of that school sort of thing), but close friends are different. It seems we draw one another. I have had so many times I'll meet someone, we'll hit it off, then we find out, well yes of course we both practice something energetic . PS how on earth can taichi people not feel qi?
  9. I'd never thought of that, how is it that people don't have anyone of like mind to talk to/with? Sure I live in a large city now, but I have also lived in one place in the US with only 30,000 people and knew MANY practitioners. Lived on an island with 10,000 people and knew a few practitioners. Oh hell I even lived in a small town in Texas for a time and knew a few practitioners! Then there are the people I find online... Since those who I don't have the most important things to me in common with, I tend to not hang out with... ALL the people I know have at least similar practices . I have heard this elsewhere as well though, folks not even having one person they can discuss things openly with. I find this very unfortunate . Good thing for TTBs.
  10. BaguaZhang in Spain

Good thing it is martial, means they didn't water it down (well less likely). In Bagua, anything which can harm can also heal, and tends to do so through practicing it over and over and over.
  11. You made the poll public (in other words everyone can see who voted what; I doubt any who are here to troll or whatever are going to be honest considering.
  12. I'll go with, I thought I'd learn more about Taoism, but then stayed because I like the people here . It's difficult to learn more about Taoism as everyone argues everything back and forth lol. Actually when I first joined I thought all Taoists practiced Taoist magic, and that these forums would be full of such discussions! Darn lol. There's some though if you look . One thing I really like about TTBs is it seems to have quite a high % of people who actually practice! I have found this to be quite rare on the internet unfortunately, and find it nice. PS I figure it's gotta be karma related somehow lol.
  13. Why Do We Focus On Dan Tian ?

I find it helps to keep the practitioner grounded, and things flowing in the best direction.
  14. Holy Guardian Angel

Blissmobile LOL awesome . Just wait until the freedommobile pulls up beside it .
  15. Holy Guardian Angel

It's just an even stronger connection (that never fades) is all . Also the Abramelin is not only about the HGA, that is just the popularized aspect... Yes the HGA is/was always there, we just get in our own way. I think when one makes contact the HGA says "it's about time" LOL. I see it similar to folks who did spiritual retreats in caves for a year or few, not necessary per se, but still you get a lot out of it. There is the problem that many magicians tend to fool themselves about said contact and don't do nearly enough work. I don't feel this is the case with you obviously, but every magician online on those forums feels they have done the whole HGA thing, emphasis on *done*. Nice work btw.
  16. Earlier Heaven Later Heaven Eight Phases of Yin and Yang

The system only allows attachments 1mb and smaller unfortunately. Maybe link to them? Or zip them..
  17. Nice try, Harvard

A lot of people, if they are going to have some major life change, or change it their way of thinking, it tends to come while they are in college. Many of the programs (at least here) challenge your previously held viewpoints and actually make you think. The crappy teachers just recite what is in a book; the good teachers make you think, and will often give assignments which bring about growth. If the seeds are planted... Also many teachers I have talked with are happy if even *one* person's life is changed in a major way for the better. It is sort of the reason why they took up teaching, instead of a job which pays better, such as garbage truck driving.
  18. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

An advertising banner with lots of hearts on it for valentines day... "nothing says I love you better than ZoneAlarm" "50% off" ROFL (PS it's firewall software)

  20. Some rather different skulls / people

i guess squishing the head bit by bit over time isn't nearly as bad as those folks who used to drill holes in their skulls.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trepanning
  21. Fuck karma

I like songtsan's summation of karma
  22. Fuck karma

What 15 pages of a thread called Fuck karma isnt enjoyable reading? Rofl
  23. Fuck karma

Also who is to say what are good and what are bad karmic actions? I'd steal food to feed starving kids; who cares aboit karma . I think people follow it blindly sometines with no thought into it.... Hey wait a minute chegg your god might be lessening my *good* karma too!!!!
  24. Fuck karma

I find what you have written quite interesting, and even agree with some of it. However I don't feel karma is important to my life whatsoever actually. Read my thoughts in the first few pages of this thread to get a better idea . I just act how I act as for me it is the right way to go about things. Fuck karma . If others are all into that, cool for them, but just not my thing. I have felt it kick in a few times, but usually instantaneously and fortunately for the better sort of more like karma in motion sort of thing...
  25. Anyone else get a 413 error when uploading 1-2mb files?

Thanks, that is what I figured (as google told me) darn.
