I think it's more about the practitioner (and usually buttloads of hard work) than the particular system/method.

First person I ever taught qigong to ended up getting so dizzy they would nearly fall over, from what were physical movements without even adding visualizations or qi on. Glad I had more than 2 days experience. Also some folks have such messed up energy I think a teacher would have to know enough to say "I don't think this would be good for you at this time". I also see it sort of like if a personal trainer is teaching a person or class using bad alignments, and they all go home and practice and get some pretty serious knee problems long-term. Qigong just has energetic equivalents to things which can go wrong. Well then there is also the not very affective aspect, but I guess if people don't care about that part...

another thing about curses... I have talked with Sifu extensively about such things.. and he reminds me that it's our stuff that allows them to actually work. This is on a few levels. If we have no internal issues regarding what the energy is, then we don't even notice it. There is nothing for them to attach to, if we have cleared ourselves, our issues and our blockages out. Of course easier said than done, but the more we clear out the better we are off. I have also found that upping ones martial arts, qigong or neigong practice also helps as well since it strengthens the weiqi fields. What sort of magic you figure she used? Or more of a subconscious thing?

Well when people mess with us energetically, the stronger the connection between us and them, the more easily than can do so, whether consciously or subconsciously. If we have completely forgotten they exist and only think about them say once per year, things are going to affect us much less than say if we think about them a few times per week. Also when we look someone up from the past, the cords which connect us and them re-connect. (hence the whole cutting of them thing).

There's certain baths to release that connection too . The day my Sifu told me that I share karma with each person I have ever had sex with.... was not a good day LOL.

*This* is what pisses me off so much about Reiki. I'm pretty sure there are several awesome masters at this, however... all the ones I was unfortunate enough to run into over the years... yeah they all did weekend workshops, and made things better than worse. Great, so now the weekend workshop crap has trickled over to qigong . Well come on YaMu, what did you go spending 40 years (just guessing) doing qigong for when you could have taken a weekend workshop?

Does it also include them not being able to get it up as well, or no? (that is a common aspect in those sorts of curses).

I should probably mention to warn her that it might not seem (to the scale) as though she is losing weight if she takes up activities which build muscles or increase bone density. However she will notice her jeans are looser. Muscle weighs more than fat.

I was practicing martial arts and making/eating dinner, then grocery shopping, then some work. It all keeps getting in the way of my TTBs habit!
