Is non-duality actually a fundamental truth, or just another philosophy?
Wu Ming Jen replied to Bindi's topic in General Discussion
Some history from my linage in brief. The history of Nei Dan practice travels back to Lao Zi who recorded all theory and methods of cultivation in the sacred book Dao De Jing. Lu Dong Bing, one of the famous eight immortals passed the teaching of internal alchemy to Wang Chong Yang in the North of China and Zhang Bo Duan in the South of China. They both created Nei Dan Schools. Both schools focus on internal cultivation, merge Fire and Water, Lead and mercury, Dragon and Tiger combining the three treasures (jing, qi, shen) into the Dan Tian (cauldron) which balances and harmonizes Xing (essential nature) and Ming (eternal life). The cultivator of nei dan will sit still, going through nine levels of stillness to obtain the Dao. The objective of cultivation is to transform yourself from an ordinary human into an extraordinary human, and further transform into Xian or Immortal. Returning home to immortality is the final goal for a Daoist priest. Master Qiu, Chu Ji was among seven disciples of Wang Chong Yang (of the Northern School). He became most popular and famous in history by creating the Long Men School and passing down his nei dan lineage, which is still in practice today. Master Li Cheng Yu of Wu Dang Long Men School was a 24th generation Daoist priest, who accomplished Immortality in 2001. She passed down the nei dan to Wu Dang Long Men School 25th generation Daoist priest Yun Xiang Tseng (Chen). Back to topic non duality is not a teaching but an observation of nature. I do not know about Buddhist teaching directly but non duality seems to be a thing from those teachings? -

The original human nature is kindness. Chinese spirituality talks of a physical being rather than an intellectual one. It literally refers to the Spirit in you and cultivating the physical health to the optimum level to nourish the invisible spiritual being. How do you sense and communicate with your own spirit? We can’t because our material life has blocked out our power to do so. Alchemy opens the door for communication and lets it fly out. It improves out compassion, forgiveness and mercy. There is an invisible super being inside us. Alchemy supplies nutrition to our spirits. Initially there are no visual signs but if we keep it up and the changes will show up. Never stop practicing. Check yourself regularly during the day. Organize your thoughts and emotions so that you don’t go to sleep holding on to guilt or pain. Clean out the garbage as you go. You must face the garbage to clean it up. It’s all about changing your attitude to the garbage – that is the breakthrough! -
Do you train MMA? We have MMA guys on the mountain they come to learn stuff. One guy kept being obviously defeated in a nice way. When he got angry about it one of the coaches he was free fighting with (who are kids in there early 20,s they train 8 hours a day living here from age 5) hit him on the middle point under the collar bone which is a temporary paralyzing of that arm and he could not continue. The master watching quickly rubbed it down and he was given some herbs, It freaked him out enough to become very humble after that. He turned out to be a good guy he just lost his mind a bit. But the whole topic is dumb and internet fights of preconceived ideas are hilarious. If you are looking for a date with a cute tai chi fighter then you will need to go to the TDB dating sub-form

There are grappling techniques and then there is Chi Na. MMA guys are friends that do not want to kill each other. MMA are fighting for fun, With specific rules. The Gracie are incredible and a family legacy that style lends to this form of sports fighting in the ring for sure. I have a hard time watching that stuff There is no way around it…the only way to learn how to fight is by fighting. IMA is more than a martial art, it is the synthesis of the best parts of Chinese culture. It is what happens when martial arts meet qigong and Chinese philosophy head on. IMA develops strength, balance, coordination, focus, and stillness of heart and mind. Understanding the principles of yin and yang will benefit all aspects of your life, from business to interpersonal relationships or the art of war. Tai chi is a life art, and is an art you can practice for a lifetime. IMA and MMA have a very different focus. When we practice IMA we are fighting weakness, uncertainty, instability, insecurity, and stress. As well as free fighting and applying these skills so that they have a practical application and this does not lend itself to sport fighting so much

This has to do with mental stability take your worries away, look at the situation differently, find peace and playfulness, we are more than a temporary form we call body. our actual body we can also see in the heavenly body where does our body begin or end it is connected. -

My tradition rely on a physical comfortable place to be to do the work. Actually an exceptional state of well being is very important. It states in the classics when one sees their body as a piece of filth the spirit must be made to come back immediately. -

One must know the golden elixir’s transformations, perhaps true, perhaps illusory. Always letting one’s heart-mind die, do not care about what you see and hear. Do not have thoughts of a person. The great earth, mountains and river are all familiar; everywhere is one’s home, fields and gardens. One is travelling, enjoying the sights, and sojourning anywhere. At the time of retrieving and entering stabilization after coming back, when the Yang Spirit also takes the material body, the body with form, as its bedchamber, room, and house, then you know there is a true ‘You’ inside this body, and that all the others are fake. Let the resident return, let the infant return into the interior courtyard and the central palace The devil of Hell is unable to rule over one’s death, God is unable to govern one’s life, vertically and horizontally, the self exist freely, exiting and entering depends on oneself, The difference creates sameness of devil and god throw them both away. Be free and the binding rope was never tied. -

Look at the nature, plants live their lives without complaint, I did not say all things. The natural order is to protect life it is precious. The animals and plants do not have the many issues you have with them. poison ivy look next to them for the cure or as Monty python said no one expects a Spanish inquisition, I mean look at the bright side of life. I kill things to live, am I a murder now? so much mental attachment of what is only natural It is not as dark and destructive as you make believe. "bloody war of eating each other alive and killing each other's children and fight to the death". This one I love you should resolve this is it really you or other that is stealing from you? -

You must have missed the point of the story of nature. you have "the plant is trying to do". that is silly..."Vegetarians" are you talking about people? " live in a Bambi story", are you talking about people? "Human apes" are you talking about people? I am talking about nature in the story not how your mind would like it to be. You do cover a lot of ground seeing one thing and jumping to another that is amazing. -

All things do their works without slightest complaint, they give born to others without claiming ownership. they do things without telling others what they have done, and they retire when their job is done. Because of their retirement, their achievement is eternal. -> look at the nature, plants live their lives without complaint, they give birth without claiming ownership, they do things without the on-going need to inform others what they have done, and they retire when their job is done (flower wither after spreading pollen, fruit wither/eaten/carried away to spread seed, a lot of plants die every winter). As they have no attachment to the temporary (flower, fruit, plant), they remains at one with their real nature, which beyond and not subjected to the temporariness of the phenomenal changes. What benefit is there to adopt this state of nonduality? Laozi explains, a wise sage is like plant in the nature, it comes to the world, live, grow, blossom, fruit, and die, without attachment to any specific stage in life, any need to claim any process being “i”, and any need to tell everybody about their achievement. Because of their non-attachment to all this transitory, they remains at one with their real nature. which is everlasting and beyond changes. -

When we achieve mastery we may realize that we are still at the beginning. The never ending journey is what keeps us developing as humans and martial artists. In time as the seasons change over the year, we enjoy the interaction of yin and yang, the hardships and good times come and go as do our emotions. We are not solely on our own, all is connected to where we come from, nature. When hard things happen you will know that good things will come as the ever changing cycle is the rule of interaction with us and the earth. Only heaven does not change, for humans to try to be “heavenly” interferes with our teachings. Happiness can only happen because there is sadness, Good can only happen because there is bad. None of this exists in a place where nothing changes. Taoists do not interfere with this cycle and do not hold on it, let it turn, change, come and go as it pleases. -

It is currently said that there are two approaches to explain the origin of the Indigenous Peoples in Taiwan. One advocates that the origin of the indigenous peoples is located outside of Taiwan; the other one discerns that Taiwan is the ancient origin of the Austronesian peoples. The former theory is commonly popular and scholars testify in terms of languages, archaeology, literature review, folklore legends to conclude that the origin of the indigenous peoples should be the southeast coast of China. Scholars even predict the plausible era when the indigenous peoples migrated to Taiwan. For example, Saisiyat and Atayal must have immigrated to Taiwan around 3000 B.C. during the Paleolithic Age. Paiwan and Puyuma must have immigrated to Taiwan during the prime time of Southeast Asia Rock Age. The latter approach indicating that Taiwan is the origin of Austronesian peoples is a newer theory, a research result of many linguists. -

Sprinting is a race game. If your a man you can win girl races and if your a girl you can win guy races, that is my take on it. I am pretty sure you can be any color to be in a race. Legs can be helpful, One guy leg and one woman leg what would that be? I love race, it is so competitive, everyone looking for an advantage. For the love of the race I might change my sex but I am not really into race so much. -

see things as empty. when we say thing is this or that it is our mind that attaches thoughts to thing. Thing has no thought so if you want to stare at a chair see it as a tree becoming a chair and watch the chair vanish into dust. chair is a stagnate thought it is not alive with all of the changes. -

Is non-duality actually a fundamental truth, or just another philosophy?
Wu Ming Jen replied to Bindi's topic in General Discussion
Well I am not from that camp. In nature and if we use nature as our teacher we can see that two opposites complete each other and not oppose. So the only thing that can be in duality is the mind. When yin and yang reconcile their differences new life is born this is the true divine nature of humanity. Immortal beings live in and out of duality both together as a unified whole. The unified mind can comprehend this it is natural and we are nature and all things that have form is also us in nature. As soon as one is immortal they are also not immortal if not conscious of such things there is joy with out the mental clutter. When we apply the teachings in everyday life it is not mental clutter any more with or without a body. -

Wu Ming Jen replied to Bindi's topic in General Discussion
It is a personal choice we can live in conflict and allow the rational intellectual mind to run our lives or we can do the work and allow the divine spirit child in us to live not only a joyful life now but also solve life and death this brings great joy and sets our priorities in life in order. What was important while our mind is in duality mode and causes so many issues and problems vanishes to dust. So the question is our choice. -
The Single Light as the Fa Shen that can not be seen creates The need to Pulverize the Physical body, to create the Immortal Golden Dragon body
Wu Ming Jen replied to voidisyinyang's topic in Daoist Discussion
I picked the same passage worded a bit different than yours from my tradition as long as we understand the light of heaven can not be seen. People can misunderstand and think they should see with the eyes golden light. We know that gold is a symbol for this heavenly light. Feeling hot like fire is not a sign of verification so I do not know if this line is part of your quote or just placed there out of context? -
