Is ‘Dao’ more easily translated as ‘God’, or ‘Nature’?
Wu Ming Jen replied to Phoenix3's topic in Daoist Discussion
The Tao is not God The Tao is not God and is not worshiped. Taoism does include many deities, but although these are worshiped in Taoist temples, they are part of the universe and depend, like everything, on the Tao. The most important thing about the Tao is how it works in the world, and how human beings relate to it. Philosophical speculation about what the Tao actually is, is less important than living in sensitive response to the Tao. The Chinese gods are actual people who lead exemplary lives. The archetype of the gods and immortals is based on humanity, all genders, all race. The gods are administrators of a healthy way of living they all have jobs to keep order and benefit all of humanity. The western man god does not like people and is fond of genocide. The term foreign devils comes from the western introduction of religion to china. After reading the bible they assumed they in the west worshiped some kind of devil. The Tao is before creation, before heaven and earth The Dao De Jing describes the way of yin, the feminine, as being ‘water’ and that of the complementing yang, masculine, as fire. In Daoist terms there has recently been a shift in the internal energies in both sexes, resulting in women now having too much fire. The water-based nature of women has been forgotten and they can no longer express this innate way of their being. Unfortunately this has a negative impact on mankind as a whole. Without the true influence of the feminine the world is becoming more volatile; like a fire burning out of control. Only women have the power to quench the fire of the masculine. Therefore women must find their way back to the water and to the true seat of their power. -

This is a great conversation Jing is not considered sexual energy because sexual energy is neutral and belongs to having a physical body which is not forever. Jing is vitality. a non physical energy it has no form and can not be found. So a funny thing happens when one begins the Taoist methods of cultivation they will feel sexually charged just because of the methods so then people get instantly confused, they can find their body parts and are like this is it!!! Then they start reading about neidan and get it all confused with what they can touch. The original Shen the clear mind emerges with actual practice of neidan passed on by a Master. Sex or no sex has absolutely nothing to do with the life and death solving methods of neidan. I only mention this because this conversation is pointing directly this error. -

So what is being referred to - is "normally" the mercury as yin qi - to quote Wu Ming Jen This is the liver qi that goes out of the eyes with the eyes open. So as Green Dragon - it first is reversed to go back down - and then it rises being heated - up the back. It is connected with the black tiger - so that the mercury now has substance as white tiger (the silver hidden in the lead). So - what "normally" sinks is Black tiger as water - and so it has to then rise up the back but then - it goes back down the front as the white tiger (see highlighted colored quotes above). So to reference Pregadio's translation of Awakening to Reality: So normally the tiger is female and the dragon is male. So Reverted Elixir is a double inversion as undivided yin-yang. The classics word for word I understand. lets say the same thing a different way, just for fun The Yuan Shen is original spirit; it does not recognize time or place. The Shi Shen is intelligent spirit. At the beginning of human life there is no existence of a Shi Shen or intelligent self. When humans learn the access to the material world this gives birth to the Shi Shen. Humans are meant to evolve from the innocence of a newborn baby, to the intelligence of youth, and on to the wisdom of the peak power of the Shi Shen. At the same time Shi Shen is evolving, Yuan Shen starts from a birth of spooky capabilities and evolves towards numbness or unawareness of its true ability in most people. Yuan Shen and Shi Shen are like master and servant living in the same room with their position and power changing all the time. The wise man learns to be a dummy and the intelligent man fights for an empty statue of “self.” Sometimes Shi Shen says things that may conflict with the Yuan Shen. That is, the mind conflicts with the original spirit. The Yuan Shen however, never gives up on the pursuit for purity. The original spirit is kindness, which we never give up. However; the Shi Shen sometimes contradicts this original spirit. The Shi Shen may not allow the Yuan Shen to speak or act freely. We must learn to live and let live! Live and let live is equal to unconditional love. Once you are able to love unconditionally then you will break out of the cycle of living in the expectations of others. Learn to forgive yourself of being a victim. Only then can you overpower your pains and aches. Stupid people look for perfection in themselves, others and the world. Life is not perfect! If you always try to defend yourself for being a victim, then you are already a victim again. There is no need to defend yourself! Give up the will or desire to “win.” Give up the fear of death. There is no need for offense or defense. Life is merely a puzzle. Welcome your opportunity to solve this puzzle. Always look for the other side, the dialectic side of "me". If you can know one side of “me” then you can know other side of "me". Strive to understand the opposite of what you are feeling. -

All the words void is using are metaphors and are all actual physical transmutation. The same simple understanding have many, many different ways to describe the same thing True lead is the original awareness (Shen) that sinks to the bottom. True mercury is acquired awareness ( shen) that rises to the top and is unstable. Cause what sinks to float and what floats to sink same as water and fire or dragon and tiger or yin and yang Basically turn the power over to the true self and not the acquired self and life is much better. There are many errors of what terms actually mean with void (sorry dude) -

All day long we use our light of awareness to shine the outside world. Turn the light around to the internal body/ world / unseen this is done with no eyes. -
For some relationships it is all hearts and diamonds but end up with spades and clubs. The lady above visited Buddha while under the tree.
-
He is giving you a chance to explain yourself. A little more effort is required to bring your thoughts into the written language. try agian

Buddha said to himself sit down and shut up and he did sit down and shut up under a tree. After getting up he said some words we know like bird, tree, suffering we still use these words today 1000 of years latter Unless we are actually there with Buddha when he is talking it would not be in the cards to know for certain the actual order of words spoken.

This is fun,we are nature when we put human mind over nature we create a false reality. The programming is evil, a great example. Again humans not being responsible is another excellent evil act. The opposite of a divine divine creature yet called and enforced as holy is the best disguise to fool others and keep them from knowing who they are.
-
To me there is good and bad relativity. Evil, God and demons is a way to exaggerate the confused mentality as evil does not actual exist in nature. Mankind...... that is whole different story. We have programmed the humans not to know their true divine nature. This way we can have a god that makes them not responsible so they can act as evil as they want....how convenient. so God is the devil and the devil is God

The advantage is they get to die while they are alive with no chance to awaken goals that transcend life itself, worth more than all material wealth. The greatest treasure is forfeit for what a few days of greed and stealing their own virtue on this planet....weird
-
If there is no self then self has to exist. It is naive to think there is no self. so I say their are both, there is the true self and the acquired self. The true self lines up with what some may consider no self or selfless because it does not act for its self separated and independent of the whole. The acquired self is the robber.

We need to chase the stinky Chi out to get Zhen Chi (post heaven/yin chi) in balance. Stinky Chi is deep in the body: in the tendons and ligaments, in the joints, in the muscles, in the way you think. If the mind is not happy and healthy then Zhen Chi is not balanced. What Tai Chi truly does is to try to wipe out the Zhen Chi altogether. It tries to squeeze out the Zhen Chi, chasing out all of the post-heaven Chi As long as you still have post heaven Chi you still have life. Once you chase it all out, then you are immortal. If you are still in human form you are an Immortal Among the People,

We are in search of moe pei masters in real places so this is as real as it gets. -
Hi LimA, Jing Chi and Shen we call them 3 but they are actually one. When one divides into 3 and become separate that is the problem. Vitality (jing) has the power to reproduce our actions in daily life like wake up, go to work, wash dishes, cook dinner, go to sleep, pay bills. If jing is strong we have the ability, the Chi to reproduce and complete all task necessary. When shen or spirit is in charge of all activities and non activity all is done with out error. Management would most likely frown upon photos of human passion fruit. , just saying.

One day me and Marblehead decided to go to town. When Marblehead saw a woman and asked what is that I sarcastically replied that it is a tiger and they are dangerous. After climbing the mountain back to the cave I asked Marblehead what did you like most about going to town. Marblehead replied the tiger. (not to mention she had a white top swim suit with lots of movement contrasted with stillness. (you know the light and dark having sex giving birth to the ten thousand things.)

Here we go...... the internal alchemy is based on physical aspects of the body so the same way yin and yang can give virgin birth inside us the metaphor applies non physical...... how weird is that. ‘The initial Qi’: Once the Yin egg and the Yang sperm happen to collide, they mutually join together, just as the two Yin-Yang fish do inside the Tai Ji diagram, and new transformative combinations begin to grow. ‘The commencement of form’: Once tiny life is formed in the womb, it undergoes chemical changes initiated by the mother’s Yin and Yang, as well as by its own Yin and Yang. Therefore it continues to absorb nutrients, and gradually grows into an “infant”. ‘The formation of matter’: Even though it is gradually and slowly taking shape, there are also sudden bursts. ‘Ten months of pregnancy, every childbirth exactly will rest on quantitative changes causing qualitative changes.” There were no Chinese characters at the era of Fu Xi , the eight drawn images compare well with the characterless heavenly book. Lao Zi in the 《Dao De Jing》 draws up a figurative metaphor: “The Dao gives birth to One, One gives birth to Two, Two gives birth to Three, Three gives birth to the ten thousand things.” The Three giving birth to the ten thousand things denotes comprehensively the ten thousand forms, namely every phenomenon in this world. Fu Xi drew only eight images, and no further. Each trigram being divisible into three levels. Fu Xi realized that eight images already reached integral completion and were able to thoroughly encompass the ten thousand matters, the ten thousand things, the ten thousand phenomena within this universe. Since the ‘Yi’ reflects the changes of the sun and the moon, the transformations of the universe, and the shifts in the human world, its transformations are limitless and infinite. It contains ‘the Simplistic’, ‘the Changing’, and ‘the Unchanging’: three types of conditions.
-
That is very noble and I admire this yet the non sexual metaphor is very real, tangible and can not be changed. The flow of one thing to another I call principle a unifying force, meaning what works it is not a mental construct.
-
‘The sun and the moon act as the changes, softness and hardness mutually push each other’. (as starjumper never said creation and the written classics is very pornographic in nature) (My left eye is the moon my right eye is the sun) ‘Yi’s’ greatest distinguishing feature is its transformations. Like with the sun and the moon, in the daytime the sun shines, and in the evening, the moon rises. Yang changes into Yin, Yin changes into Yang. The ‘Yi’ also follows this pattern with the Tai Chi diagram’s Yang unbroken lines “—” and Yin broken lines “–” , that is, Tai Chi gives birth to the two polarities of Yin and Yang. The two polarities give birth to the four divisions, the four divisions give birth to the eight trigrams, going one step further after the arrangement and composing of the eight trigrams the 64 hexagrams are generated. “The ‘Tai Ji Diagram is precisely the ‘Boundless Infinite Diagram’. The ‘Boundless Infinite’ is exactly Yin embracing Yang, Yang embracing Yin, Yin and Yang not yet being separated, the time of heaven and earth not yet having taken shape.” Not yet visible Chi Eventually a Yin egg is formed inside the female ovaries via sublimating over a long time. The mature Yin egg begins to seek a Yang sperm, from the ovaries it advances and enters the Child’s Palace, namely the womb. In the matured males testicles, a Yang sperm forms also through a long period of sublimation. Through the male and female love-making, the Yin egg and the Yang sperm converge in the female womb. If one regards the womb analogy as the Tai Chi diagram’s outer ring, then the Yin egg and the Yang sperm are exactly resembling the Yin and Yang fish inside the Tai Chi diagram. The Yin egg and the Yang sperm will eventually mutually attract each other to one place. This stage is the ‘Not yet visible Chi’ phase, impossible to perceive or sense.

Signs of Verification of Turning Around the Light

In my experience the golden flower is not a method and can not be practiced. When I experienced the verification I did not intentional sit down to meditate. I was out side and simply sat down in a nice spot I entered a meditative state at first I did hear talking and chanting it was like hearing monks on the mountain thousands of miles away reciting scripture (that was my own mind thoughts). Yes internally there was light and outside was hazy. I also felt like I had no earth power like a weakness this was ascending upward. This state of being was experienced for over a week and during going to work and play. I had special abilities as someone at work said I know everything your thinking with no words. This experience at 20 years old and full into Internal martial arts from 16 years of age.Just happened. It literally took me years of research of all modalities western and eastern to make some sense of what had happened to me. Years latter I read the secret of the golden flower and finally had my answer and verification. If I had been with a Taoist master he or she could have directed me to high levels at a very young age. To this day because of this experience and after reading the golden flower I trained very hard with skilled authenticate teachers and now I am a linage holder of Dragon Gate Long Men Pei of Wudang mountain.
