  1. Small and large why not practiced together? Why does one need to master small before large without small there is no large without large there is no small, I do not understand. Do we just choose to be still or just choose to be active why be round and not square or square and not round what fun is that It is not complicated if we do not make it that way. All this chi circulation happens on its own it is not mind driven only mind aware. The true mind can feel positive practice and acquired mind is silenced. No more doubt. When practiced properly it is nothing but a thing and things they are just things fleeting and perishable. Not much to it. to reach the shore leave the boat behind. cryptic sayings leave much to the imagination so imagine your self in the most glorious heaven on earth what feels right.Feeling is the communication of mind and body no words, do not let words get in the way. only you know when you have an itch or dust in your eye so take care and invest time into the eternal. Do not feel discouraged and keep posting. Starjumper said when you get back home you have achieved, sometimes we feel we left somewhere but until we are back home the journey is not over. The homeland of nothing whatsoever, no thing for mind to attach to, there is peace and harmony here, the mind has been pacified. I looked for my mind and found nothing. These things send the divided mind into a loss for words. thoughts are in word form but feeling is much deeper. so what ever you do just make sure it feels right.
  2. WHAT IT ALL MEAN

The wind blows outside sending our thoughts this way and that way. Those that can stand in the center during the storm will survive. The still point between Yin and Yang protect this place and all there is is balance and harmony. Mountains crumble, water floods, fire burns, volcanoes erupt, school shootings, president, The news seems to be on an endless repeat. Set the world in order, how is it done, well not from the outside - in, that would be chaos.
  3. Does Calisthenics Build Qi?

Chi Gung means energy work. The Chinese practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and martial arts training, extends back more than 5,000 years. the ancient Chinese meditative practice xing qi (circulation chi ) and the gymnastic breathing exercise tao yin (guiding and pulling). we start to become aware of the relationship between our consciousness and the chi that gives us physical form and animates us. Through precise conscious movement we move chi through channels in our body (often referred to as acupuncture meridians or Jing Luo) and encourage a more free and fluid flow of this energy through our body. Chi Gung is always practiced in the early morning at the temple.
  4. Taoism and Avoiding Grains

Grain stands for any type of food products that can be consumed. The Chinese character-pictograph depicts what is ‘edible for humans’. In Taoism abstention from grain is also called ‘rejection of grains’, ‘breaking away from grains, ‘severing from grains, ‘ceasing grains’, ‘cutting grains’ and so on. Even though one does not eat the five grains, one however ingests Chi and energy or power. It is a Taoist belief that abstention from grains is able to kill the ‘three corpses’, the human body’s internal three types of malignant evils, and is able to extinguish the ‘nine worms’, nine types of internal parasitic worms. The phenomena of the ancient Taoist form of ‘abstention from grains’ happens naturally during the cultivation processes of ‘The Ten Months of Nourishing the Embryo, The Three Years of Suckling the Infant and the Nine Years of Facing the Wall’. It is a path a cultivator inevitably has to go through. Nowadays fasting is used in order to regulate the body and mind, and eliminate the body’s waste products. The low-level ‘abstention from food’ in society is for healing and totally different from the Taoist internal alchemy methods of ‘severing form grains’.The length of time that one fasts depends on one’s strength and what one is capable of. One may fast, for example, for three days, five days, seven days and so on. One should undergo a process of adaptation; from easy to hard, proceeding step by step and gradually elevating. According to different physical conditions, one determines whether to choose complete abstention or half-abstention as the fasting method. Some people are allowed to eat some fruits, nuts and honey.

  6. What is a Daoist?

Hi Rara, We never left the nameless heaven we just happen to have a body. Are ancestors are alive in our hearts even if we can not see them with our eyes open, we are all a big family. Lao tzu is the religious philosophical basis and these two parts are not divided from the whole, that is just humans looking at a sliver of their reality, no worries.
  7. What is a Daoist?

Taoist do all things...in moderation They live between heaven and earth. their success is due to their failures. Doing is applying the principles that bring peace and harmony into their lives. knowing is doing and doing is knowing. They walk the earth but have not left their true home. They are active and still, The only way to know what a Taoist does is by their silly hats if we examine the hat closely and watch how it follows the head. then is the Tao following the hat or is the hat following Tao.
  8. A Pure Tao

You should study history and wars to identify the way things are. Personal we are not the cause of suchness and can navigate the waters and not be drowned by the water or burned by fire.
  9. A Pure Tao

Tao gives birth to the ten thousand things and are not in hostile camps. Each polar complete opposite also contains the other. Duality good and bad are perceptions of those that do not have a unified mind. If one wishes to know Tao there is nothing to know. True emptiness is not empty there is something unknowable. When mind has no thing to attach it self to this is an aspect of Tao and pacifies the mind, calm, still and tranquil even in the mist of activity. If you wish to know sages and be given the gift then hard work and bitterness must be endured mastering the physical realm to reach the formless. No short cuts or skipping steps as one method is learned it is abandoned and education continues. Few have the ability and good luck to meet such teaches and when you do you will be tested to see if you will break and quit. Dualism is a mental dis order.Mostly crafted in western civilization due to Greek philosophy as the bases of their world view and putting man over nature just a couple of mistakes to avoid when learning about the way. Good Luck
  10. The Olympics will be featuring transgender sports where men play girl sports and girls play men sports. The lacrosse teams said they are a gender neutral sport and the new rules do not apply. The puppy bowl has decided that transgender humans must change the sex of their animals if they wish for the puppies to be team members. The boy scouts have decided that only girls can join and are allowed to scout for boys. Bathrooms are still a major issue confusing anyone that needs to use one. A recent survey says that everyone poops and there are books printed that cover this issue. scientist and doctors have confirmed this as well. The video so we all know this is real should be released soon.
  11. There are unpleasant people they do not understand why everyone else is not miserable. When we have encounters with these people they want to make your life just as horrible as theirs . This makes them feel better and justifies the way they feel all the time. When dark spirits see light spirits they try to destroy your light and piss you off "bring you to the dark side "that is considered a win for them even if they upset you for only a moment. To seal your self do not give these people any energy. it is not our job to make them happy or please them. It is perfectly OK to allow our interaction to be as unpleasant as necessary. The perception of these people encountering unpleasantness is just normal for them while we can not believe what just happened and let it go. It is not worth the time or energy to understand or fix them. That work is solely their responsibility it needs to happen from the inside out not outside in.
  12. unbelievable , Hitler was a vegetarian

All I can say is YES!
  13. unbelievable , Hitler was a vegetarian

Hitler being a vegetarian makes absolute sense to me. We should have everyone burn their canine teeth and have a genocide on this race of teeth. We could have them all replaced with molars and go on gorilla diet. This way humans would create a super race of unbelievable stature and strength of humans gorilla style. No really believe me this will make the world a better place. If you would like to financial support this movement please PM me! Lets raise an army and take over the world you will feel so superior and special unlike the rest of those losers with front teeth!
  14. Jen Wu (sp?) and the Five Dragons

One day the Jade Emperor was in heaven when all of a sudden he saw, far away, below the clouds, five colored beams of light shooting up from earth to heaven. He was very surprised and asked his prime minister “What is this? Can you go take a look?” The prime minister went to the edge of the clouds, and looked down to the earth. He came back and reported: “The five streams of light come from a golden tree on Wu Dang Mountain in China. They are the spirits of the five elements. When they beam up the power of harmony is shooting straight through the universe all the way to heaven.” "Wow," the Jade Emperor said, “I have all the treasure of the universe, but I’ve never seen this light. I should go look at that.” At that moment, ego and desire stirred in his chest, one of his 99 souls separated from him and went into a Queen’s belly to become a baby. The Queen's baby was Prince of the pure happiness kingdom. He was very powerful and very smart. He knew all the books, wrote poems, and was interested in alchemy. At 14 years old, the Prince didn’t want to become the next ruler of the kingdom. So he rode off to Wu Dang Mountain to cultivate alchemy and immortality. He had heard that Wu Dang was mystical and knew that Wu Dang had this golden tree. When the Prince saw the beautiful and powerful tree and saw the light beaming from it, he got off his horse and started to kneel down to pray to the tree. But the Prince's soul was the Jade Emperor's and when the Five Elements in the Tree saw that the Jade Emperor had come to kneel down they were scared and ran off to the edges of the universe as they could not have him kneel to them. They disappeared to the five corners of the universe. The Prince spent 42 years in Wu Dang Mountain cultivating and meditating. He was so dedicated to the art he didn't realize that he had accomplished the Tao and had become immortal. Meanwhile, 42 years on earth was equivalent to 4.2 days in heaven. And while the soul of the Jade Emperor was not complete, his heavenly work was not being done. The heavenly immortals and gods wanted his soul back so that the Jade Emperor could be complete to administer heaven and keep it in order. So they got together with Kuan Yin Lao Mu to come up with a plan of how to bring him back. Kuan Yin Lao Mu came to his dream one night and said to him, "There is a bell by the cliff. If you can throw a coin through the large coin that hangs in front of it and hit the bell three times, that means that you have a common affinity with the Tao and you can accomplish immortality." When he woke up from the dream he thought that with all of his training he should easily be able to do that. So the next day he came to the cliff. He picked up three coins and threw one, two, three, but all three times failed; he could not hit the bell. He thought, "Well, my common affinity with the Tao must be gone, I must have no common affinity." But after forty two years he was so disappointed he decided to leave the mountain. He came to a platform to comb his hair. All of a sudden Kuan Yin Lao Mu, disguised as a young beautiful lady, showed up and said, "Can I comb your hair? I'm lost in the mountains and I'm afraid I am being chased by tigers and animals. I want to stay with you. I can marry you. You can protect me here." But he said "I have spent forty-two years in the mountain cultivating Tao and I have never had a woman around, nor have I ever been touched by a woman. So although I don't have a common affinity with the Tao, I still do not want anything to do with women." The lady started crying and said, "I'm alone and I'm insecure here. You don't want me and I have nowhere to go." She ran to a high cliff and jumped, plunging down to the bottom. The Prince said, "I have no common affinity with the Tao, but in the Tao they say that if somebody dies for you, you have to pay with your life. She died for me, and I have nothing to give but my life." So, he ran to the cliff and launched himself off. As soon as he plunged down, five dragons of different colors appeared and held him in the clouds. He turned his head to look and there was Kuan Yin Lao Mu standing in the cloud. Finally he understood that he had become immortal already. The heavenly carriage came, the heavenly music played and the dragons and phoenix flew around, and took him up to heaven. His one soul went and reunited with the Jade Emperor's so that the Jade Emperor was complete again. The Jade Emperor said the Prince was such a good warrior that he gave him the title Zhen Wu, Truth Warrior. He put Zhen Wu in charge of 300,000 heavenly troops and of sweeping negativity and evil out of the universe every Wednesday and Sunday. Zhen Wu is also called Xuan Tian Shang Di, Mystical Black Heaven God, and is one of the eight gods residing in the north or black direction. He is also known as the Big Dipper god and is in charge of the Big Dipper Palace or northern heaven. He administers the north direction in cooperation with the Jade Emperor. Zhen Wu has both titles: scholar and warrior, True Warrior. September 9th of the Chinese Lunar Calendar is the day the Prince jumped off the cliff and the day that he went back to heaven, accomplished the Tao, and became the immortal Zhen Wu. Every year on Chinese lunar September 8th a very special ceremony is held in Wu Dang to celebrate this day of accomplishment. On lunar September 9th there is a special ceremony morning, noon and evening to celebrate and pray for peace for the world. Lunar September 10th is one more continuous day of ceremony. This three day event attracts 20,000-30,000 people from China and the world to Wu Dang to celebrate. This year (2008) Chinese lunar September 9th falls on October 7 so October 6, 7, 8 are special days for celebrating Zhen Wu's accomplishment. Lunar September 9 is also the day Zhang San Feng, the Wu Dang Tai Chi creator, became immortal, and in Wu dang we celebrate both events on this day. I hope that someday you can come to Wu Dang on Lunar September 9th, to celebrate this huge event.
  15. Is Alfred Huang a reliable translator?

I met master Huang and have a sighed copy of the I ching he published. He told us about the prison time for being a Taoist during the revolution. Master huang also explained how to read the symbols, the trigrams and hexagram arrangements with no words. Before literacy was a thing most did not read so the symbolic language was used.
  16. What is Yang Fire ?

When transforming True Qi into Original Essence, one must use the wind to support the fire. One must use the true intent to concentrate on the entering into the life palace, the Qi-point’s centre. Jing, Qi and Spirit unify. Original Qi entering Essence turns it into Original Essence. Control and grasp the True Qi and the True Qi then will move downwards and change into Original Essence. It is incredibly precious and its loss is the loss of life at this given moment in time. If one is without the breathing and not using the wind to support fire refinement. fire not melting metal, the Original Essence will inevitably not be able to re-transform into Original Qi, and it cannot return to the abode of the Kun furnace, its original palace in the centre.
  17. WARNING !!!!

God has a lot of issues. Only if god met a goddess things would have been different and why he ditched the Great Mother for the devil no one knows. He could be in love with his brother I would've have never thought of that.
  18. WARNING !!!!

Warning all you guys in charge of Tao Bums who created this god and devil, just stop It. it is obvious that the psychological damage created by the non harmonious situation of a god and devil as partners is not good for humanity.

Now we are cooking using the right ingredients, transmuting or cooking, not too hot, not too cool. The recipe with ingredients are all listed in the alchemy text, even more so in the scriptures used by Taoist priest.. The true ingredients are formless. physical lead sinks, True lead is the original spirit. The acquired spirit floats called true merqury, physical mercury tends to fly off and be volatile. The meaning is that the wrong spirit is in charge when actually it is only a guest. sooo cause what sinks to float and that which floats to sink.. If people really wish to begin cooking an apprenticeship with a master chef is a great way to go. When using non physical ingredients we become more familiar with the eternal aspects of our true selves. maybe
  20. Mair 17:5

Master Chuang refused a job for the government. In Chinese society the hermit, sage, those outside of society were venerated and regarded as the pinnacle of life. Many stories of emperors wanting to hire these people but all refused. To take the job would just never make sense to the sages. The principles of being a sage relates to all things so based on correct internal government it is easy to see proper ways of government in a society. The earth does not care yet cares for all things this is the way of the sage true caring is not preconceived because what self is there to seek benefit. benefit and harm are interrelated.
  21. Five-element theory and Lao & Chuang

Although not developed into its present form until the Han dynasty, the origins of wuxing extend far back into the earliest records of Chinese intellectual history. In the Shang dynasty (1600-1046 B.C.E.), oracle bone inscriptions Between the Shang and Han dynasties, a number of texts were compiled that collectively shed light on the development of what became wuxing thought. Chief among these are some of the “Five Classics” alleged to have been written during the Zhou dynasty (1045-256 B.C.E.) In Zuo Zhuan’s record on the 27th year of the reign of Duke Xiang (590-573 B.C.E.), the text says: “Heaven has produced the five elements which supply humankind’s requirements, and the people use them all. Not one of them can be dispensed with.” Although English translations of this passage usually say “five elements” and we would expect the Chinese text to say wuxing, actually the text uses wu cai (“five materials” as in “raw materials”). In the 7th year of the reign of Duke Wen (626-609 B.C.E.), the text says: “Water, fire, metal, wood, earth, and grains are called the six natural resources (or treasures) (liu fu).” The character fu is used for the treasures of nature; the natural resources for life. During the Han dynasty, one of the most fundamental texts containing material on wuxing theory was the Huainanzi (The Masters of Huainan, 139 B.C.E.). This text says: “The natural qualities of Heaven and Earth do not exceed five. The sage is able to use wuxing correctly in order to govern without waste.” The Huainanzi shows the move to standardize the number five. It continues to draw out the correlations between wuxing in cosmology and morality, and it extends the medical implications of the system. Sages who know what to do with the wuxing are able to rule the country, heal patients, and manage the transformations of life and longevity. It seems that this text conflates Daoist notions of immortals (xian) with those who possess the skill necessary to master the five elements.
  22. On my way....with some (flesh !) obstacles ahead

My suggestion is to not make your practice about sex or the lack of sex. In the beginning many have an increase of vitality. It is possible to turn this energy into what animates the body (this happens any way) and achieve goals we otherwise would not have the energy to achieve. Vitality is not only what many refer to as sexual energy that is a very small part of our vitality. With desires if we TRY to cut them off sometimes it creates more. When full we do not desire more. When harmful habits take their toll on our bodies and in our lives we will simply not desire to do that anymore. Life is not perfect Live and let live
  23. I was also going to mention that too. practice could lead to higher goals. The bar is set very high in my tradition and physically demanding. I am a better person for it so I have great respect and gratitude for all bitterness endured.
  24. Every day upon waking up and opening our eyes, we are always looking outwards, seeking outwards and contemplating outwards. We are very rarely contemplating our breath, our heart beat, and the peristaltic movement of our intestines and stomach. If we attempt to look inwards, seek inwards, we are capable of opening a new gate, which will make our thoughts and train of thoughts to be more clear, distinct and sharp, and which will make our physical flesh and organs to be more sturdy, firm and powerful There are many methods of sitting meditation and stillness cultivation, but the only requirement is to be able to find the manner which allows your brain to stop, that allows your thoughts to return to zero; this is precisely the best method.. Sitting meditation and stillness cultivation has three levels in total. The first type is for eliminating illness and for achieving a healthy body, strengthening the physique and improving one’s physical constitution. The second type is for experimentation and for seeking the unusual and strange, as well as for gaining powers. The third kind is for the refinement of the elixir and for cultivating the Dao, gaining an eternally living and immortal body with higher dimensional and vibrational frequencies. Therefore the goals are not the same, and subsequently the requirements are not the same.
