There is an old story of someone's bathtub ringing/vibrating at the same time everyday. Come to find out a temple bell miles away and out of hearing range was the cause. Language may have replaced a lot of people's ability to transfer or pick up thoughts without words but it is still plenty active. Fa jin is every sinew, bone, muscle, all parts of the body involved as one, exploding in one action. visually a vibrating or shaking force is seen. As in the intro of the I ching above states that an equal force of contraction must happen first the movement must be balance, the force sent in any direction must also contain the opposite direction. To lift push down first then it is easier. Feeling is basically the only magic left. We can describe scientifically a snowflake or rainbow but how a person feels seeing such things not so much. It is no mystery to me that people attract things of the same vibration. Why a person in a bad relationship ends up in another bad relationship seems to be a common example of the energetics involved.

I find it interesting that people from other forums are so interested in Tao Bums. They seem to need, to feel accepted and if not complain here and or on another site about how awful it is. Does not make any sense to me. Maybe Tao Bums is more influential than I imagine. Reminds me of challenges from many other schools that seek validation and when they are defeated they become upset. Once upset they get hurt and we do the best we can to heal them quickly. It is different for me in a non physical environment with keyboard warriors. In person skill is obvious. Most of the bla, bla, bla and I read this in a book or some weird approach to practice, simply put no one is interested where I train. Those conversation do not last long or even happen, it is more like lets see what you got.. I enjoy Tao Bums because of my passion for training. I get some time off from training here and there and like to check out the site. Thanks to those who donate their time, good job.

If anyone has a problem with Tao Bums or admin there is a simple solution, move on. The eclectic and diverse background of many can be casually discussed and challenged here. It is all part of the training, if one wishes. There are no problems only solutions. If one feels empowered or in a state of authority on a certain subject there lies the problem. The solution, give up, enjoy, play do not allow others to steal your peace, easily said and difficult to practice. Some challenges can knock one of their center, keep the center and all energies will stay in their own orbit and harmonize with ours..

You guys are all horrible, all my desires run wild, food and I am not even going to mention the other. I will leave it at that. Really nice pictures. I feel refreshed with the natural bounty heaven and earth provides, forever grateful. Speaking about being Grateful.... Dead you know what the dead head said when he ran out of weed......This music sucks!

My son and I were given peaches by a monk in cave off the beaten path of Wudang Mountain in China. We went exploring with a tip from a person from our school. We did not bring water thinking the journey was not far so the gift of peaches was very helpful. No taoist I know would say anything about longevity as a goal or guaranty of practice. We walked across immortal meeting bridge, given peaches and gained eternally. Then I touched the computer and became mortal again. At Least I remember the way back so I can come and go freely until the time for me is ripe as a juicy peach. I still have work, commitments and responsibilities in the dust of this world that is tied into something most high. Please do not post pictures of peach pies, I beg of you, show mercy

Celestial Master deification of incarnated Lao Tzu and the Great Yin

I am liking the humor. I have only been on the car down once. I have an all access pass so I pay nothing. We will be happy to accept plastic but there is a charge of 4% added. Golden top is awesome you can stay over night at the top if there is room. Purple heaven palace has lots of room for taoyin to live (females). The cable car is in the other valley from the main stairs to the top. I would suggest taking the old route when there is a choice and only 7000 steps to the top . a step is a foot or more high so much fun. I am liking this new improved version of wuchiupinthetaichi. -

Drew you are a big part of "The Best Summer on Tao Bums Ever" you can always find a way to be annoying. If you like that kind of attention it is fine by me. At least someone is paying attention to you, Right. -

Celestial Master deification of incarnated Lao Tzu and the Great Yin

Well said, if all disciplines do not line up with true experience one knows the error. The deluded delude themselves and others passing on errors that mislead and end the process of cultivation. In reality there is no end to cultivation, enlightenment or whatever we want to call it is not the finish line. The many wonderful sights and sounds, abilities and so on I have experienced I hit the ignore button because I have no business with them, treated as a distraction and in their proper place. -

I do find it funny that anyone attracted to five pecks of rice that was the cost to join the cult would have the same issues as the celestial masters school. A lot of errors on the way. The seed grows a tree that can be grafted and manipulated but a bad seed is a bad seed. -

The modern version is less deviant and they learned how to be accepted without pissing the pros off. The tao te ching under a scholars view such as confucius is a running joke in the inner circle of proper taoism. -

The celestial masters differ from daojai traditional Taoism and it is the celestial masters that are the birth place of seman retention. no ejaculation and all that stuff in a tainted taoist form. Many of their practices got them in trouble exiled and even executions involved. belief in talking to spirits being anti buddhist and the list goes on. There is still a current school all the way back from year 142. -
I will not forget your father . I will honor your father right next to you. feeling responsibility is natural healing first let all things follow.

Sometime when too much energy is given to concentration of breath or movement of energy with MCO techniques it actually stagnates energy and breath itself, nullifying the whole process.. Visualization is a tool that leads to feeling, once the tool has been used and feeling is established. the tool is no longer necessary. Rising and falling, suspended between heaven and earth, all things follow the natural order with no resistance, all things are in harmony the greatest symphony ever to be heard. Training mind to follow chi and chi to follow mind what a marvelous wonder. I did it this way and I did it that way. Then I came upon the way. The way was not way out of the way, it was close to home the whole time. Who keeps the way so out there but it is so close to home???? .

Experience is everything IMO When one has experienced the terminology only points to understanding and is understood in a vast array of words that even have the same meaning. Knowing is doing and doing is truly knowing. Call it by ten thousand names, break it into pieces, Pineal, pituitary sun and moon, quantum, differentiation of the sameness.it is all one energy no matter how small we like to dice it. Once I cut up reality into tiny pieces only to find I could not see the celestial design.

The marrow pathway is travelling upwards, however is not the meridian pathway. There is a hole in the vertebra, which is the path of internal alchemy. It is connected with the nerve stem, the nerves of the brain and the meridians. It does not exist singly, as the nerve system is like a tree. It is called the ‘Hidden Stream’, the unseen flow of water, also known by the name of the “Yellow River”. This Yang Qi ascends up this pathway and goes straight above to Spinal Strait behind the Middle Cinnabar Field, as well as opposite the apex of the internal kidneys. It is extremely hard for Qi to ascend to this point. This is called the Spinal Strait Barrier. Furthermore rising to the back of the brain, it is called the Jade Pillow Barrier. These are the body’s three barriers. If one arrives at the border, one is asked for one’s passport and whether one carries any dangerous goods in the luggage. In Wudang Mountain one will come across the Three Heavenly Gates on the way up to the Golden Peak. Only when one opens the first gate, can one continue one’s climb. One’s spine is one’s ladder. During everyday life one prepares for this journey. The Gate keeper is extremely ferocious and powerful. There are tough examinations. One must practice and have first hand experience to truly understand.the process. Most important is proper character to get past the barriers or gates.

“The wind blows the lotus flowers, swaying them left and right. Floating clouds and flowing water, continuously moving without interruption; Treading steps and suspending the feet. The Qi is circulated and one’s nature is nourished. Slow movement and fast striking, circular forms and eight methods”. Furthermore the waist resembles dragons and snakes, coiling left and right. Crossing, linking winding and stepping, twirling naturally and at will. Qi is circulated, unimpeded and harmonious. the power emissions are fast, attacks happen in a flash of lightning, the execution of gong (skill) is light and quick as if a whirlwind. The eight methods are: Whirling and rotation, piercing and crossing over, winding and coiling, rolling and transforming. Emptiness, spirit, circularity and dynamics are its gist and main aim. In its strength are contained: Methods of lifting, leaning, rolling of palm, elbows, chopping, cutting, bursting, flicking, pushing, pressing, pulling and subduing, embracing, propping, clashing, colliding, charging, stances and postures, transverse movements, and blocking. Special points: Passing through, connecting and winding movements, yin and yang mutually exchanging, the eight trigrams turn; The dragon swims in the ocean and the heaven. As if a swallow sweeps past the waters, it resembles an ape’s vertical climb. The body and the stepping are light and graceful. Its stepping method has a route, treading on the Tai Ji Yin-Yang five elements eight trigrams diagram. Its shape and pattern is elegant and floating, its appearance likened to a flying immortal.

Everybody knows that our physical body feels tired every day from our common lifestyle and work, needing rest and recovery of its strength. Our brains must recover to normality as we will also feel fatigued mentally. For that we need to stop the thinking process in order to make space for regulation, recovery and retrieving normality. There are many methods for recovery and rehabilitation, but sitting meditation and stillness cultivation also help us regain our physical strength and open our wisdom. In fact they are the best and fastest method for such accomplishments. Not only for the refinement of the elixir and for the cultivation of the Dao can sitting meditation and stillness cultivation be practiced; any person can do it. All that is required is to be interested. The most important goal is that each layer gets recuperated. Every day upon waking up and opening our eyes, we are always looking outwards, seeking outwards and contemplating outwards. There are many methods of sitting meditation and stillness cultivation, but the only requirement is to be able to find the manner which allows your brain to stop, that allows your thoughts to return to zero; this is precisely the best method for you. However, when some people start practicing sitting meditation and stillness cultivation, they do not know where their thoughts have run off to. It does not matter. At the beginning of learning these practices everyone will have these kinds of issues. Therefore many Founding Fathers said: “Do not be afraid that thoughts might arise, be afraid of noticing it too late.”

That is awesome, The whiplash effect reminds me of the technique pull down. Pull down with whole body to pluck a apple or pull down with violent shake and many apples fall from the tree. I do a lot of chin na and it is in all tai chi forms. horizontal pull down / jerk will snap the neck back violently for sure. harmony pull when pushed, push when pulled, withdraw is attack, love it.

Sound comes from silence. it is the lack of sound that creates silence it is the lack of silence that creates sound. When playing or recording music there is only so much room for sound. No sound is as important as sound. The wind and hollows of the trees make music.....that's an awesome wind instrument one night sitting in the living room with some musicians. (not in the studio downstairs) joined by a famous songwriter (we have all heard these songs) we have an amazing improv session. A conversation breaks out about digital vs analog recording with analog, tones we can not hear are present. With digital the music is compressed to the human range of sound.so not as warm. the live performance if recorded would not be able to capture the feeling of the room.

Physical manifestation of Tao is nature.Going against nature one is surely to perish. We have our own nature as well. Go against our own nature. Not a lot of benefit in that either. The best part of itis nature always wins, we are nature and their is nothing to oppose in the natural world. Then along came man separate from nature this new species, the dead skin and dandruff of the immortals decided to get confused.

Currently important to me. When is it ok to lie acording to your understanding of Daoist scriptures?
Wu Ming Jen replied to Ervin's topic in Newcomer Corner
Nothing is absolute, dynamic and ever changing, the truth for the benefit of all humanity a lie to an oppressor. Truth to harm or lies for harmony. ones truth can be another's lie. Each body is a universe with a shen to guide, unlimited realities unfold, virtue integrity, one with one's way, then there is no error, Or maybe not. -
In the opening of the video gathering chi from the six direction the first movement is lift with wrist( to avoid joint locks and sink to remove target) the second is push the third is called draw in with the system names I was taught.
