  1. “Abandon enlightenment and walk freely”. Enlightenment is a name not something attainable, not a thing As the great Adept Dilgo Khyentse so well phrased it: “The everyday practice . . . is just everyday life itself. Since the undeveloped state does not exist, there is no need to behave in any special way or attempt to attain anything above and beyond what you actually are. There should be no feeling of striving to reach some “amazing goal” or “advanced state”. To strive for such a state is a neurosis which only conditions us and serves to obstruct the free flow of Mind. We should also avoid thinking of ourselves as worthless persons – we are naturally free and unconditioned. We are intrinsically enlightened and lack nothing.”
  2. Shortcut to enlightenment

If your looking for enlightenment have you tried the Yoga supply store? I think I saw some next to the Yoga pants and Yoga mats but I am not sure how much it cost. A friend of mine said to make sure it is not heavy, it should feel very light or it is fake enlightenment. Enlightenment is not far away it should be very very close to you so buy local. The carbon foot print of those searching for something so close maybe one of the many reasons for global warming. If you find some enlightenment that is free you will not be supporting your governments agenda with possible criminal implications so be careful. Illusion considered bad and enlightenment considered good but that is not as good as forgetting them both and living in the Tao beyond all borders and separated thoughts.
  3. Ruthless Sage

I was thinking about this thread and interpretation of the classics which can be unique and individualized. Some what like lyrics to a song say the Beatles you can embrace all you need is love as a way of life or be like Charles Manson and kill people. When we ask the original author they may say the words only has meaning we place on it but may not have anything to do with the original intention. If we have a balanced mind then the words will have a balanced meaning. Kind of like turning the sword around and lighting up the source of awareness.
  4. Ruthless Sage

Hi Rara, "Heaven and Earth are not partial. They do not kill living things out of cruelty or give them birth out of kindness. Straw dogs have ceremonial purpose so not made out of love and then destroyed out of hate.
  5. Ruthless Sage

Kind of the opposite meaning as "who does God love more a baptized baby, a baby, an animal or a plant". Nothing being higher or lower (straw dog) is a more balanced mental state than the physiological implications on humanity when something can be valued more than something else without reason as one thing would not actually exist with out the other.
  6. Taoism is a classical system where men and woman are looking at each other. Each energy no matter what gender that energy has manifested as, has its proper place just like the first two hexagrams in the I Ching. One gender or energy is not more important than the other. Because we can not have one with out the other being polar complete. Western system has men over woman meaning not equal. Equality only exist when things are out of balance or does not line up with reality. Goddesses or attributes of woman is very powerful in spiritual development. But again needs to be balanced with the correct opposite.
  7. You know what impresses me

I learned to throw my pre conceived thoughts of what someone may look like away very early. I know a bagua master who "looks overweight and un healthy ask for a lesson from him and you will feel so bad about yourself. Lots of other examples but got to go. Met some amazingly skilled Masters That do not fit in with our thoughts of what is strong healthy accomplished and so on.
  8. Cinnabar

The Wai Dan clan developed gunpowder, perfumes, mass producing steel using the bellows and countless inventions. Those who toyed with applying Wei Dan to internal alchemy resulted in many deaths. This approach may have rubbed off on modern pharmaceuticals.
  9. Cinnabar

Cinnabar is the energy of open consciousness with in fire knowledge in the realm of the human mind. Lead is rectitude with in water this is real knowledge which is mind of Tao or shining mind. Once you know them you can gather them quickly. Red cinnabar fire, bright outside, dark inside. Black lead, dark outside. light inside (modes of consciousness). These are both non physical lead and cinnabar. We need to fire these two and refine them. Firing is attention sooo many firing process that cover every angle to be sure the furnace of attention is not too hot or too cold. These process are closely related to Tai Chi Chuan and the internal martial arts of old.
  10. Grounding sexual energy

It is important to reproduce our actions like going to work, paying bills, washing dishes. We choose how to use this vitality this is the energy or chi to do stuff. Many with full vitality have lots of sexual energy if you do not use it that way it will channel the chi into a different task of your choice.. So transforming vitality into chi done. Chi into spirit is letting the awareness that is always with us to be in charge and not the illusion self leading the parade. Good Luck and that pretty person may give you energy to accomplish something you may not know you are capable of.
  11. More interesting topics please

The physical realm and bagua 3 yang ward off forward expanding power, summer, fire done physically. 3 yin rollback and moving energy backwards and down, contracting, water it should all be interchangeable. The five steps to move forward we push off the back leg to move backwards we push off the front leg the center earth makes the changes possible forward and back are one, life and death are one, men and woman are one all polar complete opposites are one. Difference creates sameness.. We can physically prove all concepts and principles of Taoism physically. Life and death are one just by moving in the five steps. Neidan should always be balanced and tested constantly in the physical realm. A discussion forum can be used as check and balance to make sure we do not attract things and then say it is rude of other and not take responsibility. I would like to hear about different sets that make people happy and feel good for no reason other than doing..
  12. Taoist view of Afterlife?

If we call life a blessing then death is also a blessing. Short life or long life both are still a blessing. Most fear death their whole life but when death is on your doorstep it can not come quickly enough. Doing a thousand years of work in one lifetime we take care of our material needs but also know that the true work is non material. To feel positive of accomplishment in the material world is not a bad thing, health, wealth and longevity so we are not cut down before our time. Heart/mind and body rely on each other. Sitting facing the wall in emptiness soon wears out the cushion with little or no accomplishment. Celebrate the physical world being always engaged. A healthy mind and a healthy body rest on each other. I have seen many drop their physical routines for matters of mind, The sadness of such things is no longer being effective in the physical world, poor interaction with others /self and the list is long. Being part of Nature and how it works (meaning not just sitting in emptiness) is the true teacher as we are nature.
  13. How to cultivate without methods

The true teacher is the master within, the infant immortal that knows nothing of time or contrived thoughts, it is always present whether sleeping or awake. We all use the same light not more in sages or less in others. A good teacher points but the true teacher must go through the gateless gate. True emptiness is not empty there is something, call it by ten thousand names. Emptiness upon emptiness deep dark and vast this can be called the ghost cave.
  14. How to cultivate without methods

I carry on a 700 year old linage from taoist kung fu academy on Mt Wudang China. Asking age is rude but teacher and school that is ridiculous. Many people change school and teacher specialize in Internal alchemy or pick herbs. Now be very sure to answer .....Who have you had for teaches and what is your formal school because you have been rude not to answer when asked several times.
  15. Logic, the prerequisite of all truth

Logic is an abstraction made from abstractions. Love it. I prefer common sense where you need no knowledge but can take the best course of action spontaneously.
  16. Logic, the prerequisite of all truth

It may be logical to say that the sun rises every morning but it's not true because we are all spinning. It's all prospective or current situation that creates the logic but it is changing, so truth changes with it, false becomes true, true become false and we are all spinning did I mention that?
  17. Best way to deal with energy problems

Balance with opposite, if you really exert yourself physically your energy will return. Feeling stagnant. when everything is in balance and all goood can lead to stagnation.Maybe time for a new task You have to try for yourself but opposite of what you think is amazing like I am so tired. I can't move. I don't want to do anything, go work out and that shit is gone, it's strange but true.
  18. Cooking up a storm

Back to aioli, after your mayo is done varieties are endless pesto, cajun, roasted garlic, cranberry. lemon. All you have to do is pair it up say sauteed scallops over a bed of greens topped with lemon aioli and fresh parsley. Make a sandwich turkey lettuce apples and cheddar nice bread and but of course cranberry aioli. Pizza pesto aioli, buffalo mozz, tomato, fresh basil ,maybe red onion or whatever you like
  19. Tao Bums Dating? (possibly?)

Tao bums is not a dating site? That explains a lot. So all this talk about yin and yang being in love, wanting to be together so they can get it on stuff has been very misleading for me. I am looking for a woman a year younger than me who I met when I was 16 and started living together @ 18, married @ 22, first kid by 23, second son 25 and now have a 5 year old grandson. She is very attractive, blond hair, was a cheerleader at some point in her life, a taoist adept of many years.....well anyway I hope I am not being to specific in my search. This is not a dating site right?
  20. How to cultivate without methods

We may not have much to talk about but enjoy the moment happy and content. I made several attempts to engage in conversation just out of curiosity. I am glad awaken has arrived I actually read through pages of a topic. So respond or do not respond makes no difference. I am using my easy English. Good night moon.
  21. How to cultivate without methods

Thanks for the clarification. I agree with her post for the most part as I have similar training as in not getting hung up with physical locations of energy, too much focus on breath stagnates energy and many other points. This is why I would like to have conversation with her and her practice. I have asked before what school, linage, teacher I will be happy to answer the same question.
  22. How to cultivate without methods

The key words of alchemy use a physical substance to describe that which has no shape. Dan Dao means broad sword in English. What is your school ? Is Dan Dao the name of your system? With your experience of 27 years you would be my younger kung fu sister. The internet is not a place for any rank or transmission of knowledge. Great for casual conversation but not a format for professionals, IMO.
  23. How to cultivate without methods

Ignore that post i can not delete it and why are words missing and out of place????
  24. How to cultivate without methods

The key words use physical words of substance to describe in has if shape. Dan Dao is translated as the knife or broad sword in english. A student not native to chinese asked one of the monks on the mountain about Dan Dao and was instantly shown a knife form, just kind of funny.
  25. Santa

Winter solstice is observed by all forever. The spirit of giving is alive and well thanks Santa. America did not celebrate christmas until well into the 18 hundreds because the puritans knew their make believe story had nothing to do with the pagan naturalist who celebrate nature. The puritans god is not apart of nature being from somewhere else. The psychological damage created by modern religions has a much more severe effect than all holidays put together. Looking at origins of the holidays pre christian shows a great respect for the natural world and the unfolding of life itself/
