Connecting the opposites... What could that mean?
Wu Ming Jen replied to centertime's topic in General Discussion
A coin has three sides, In bow and arrow stance without moving the feet to move forward we push off the back foot to move back push of the front foot using friction and resistance of the entire earth. The same conflict or harmony I describe from walking also describes the forces that move the planets. feeling extreme cold we feel burning, extreme heat we feel a numbing sensation these opposite are polar complete pairs described in the Tai Chi diagram. The polar complete pairs can not be separated, opposition or harmony or option number 3. Was Newton aware of option number 3 because that would unite all of science then the different branches of science could talk to each other and we could graduate into the formless realm. -

Conflict two opposite forces, that describes walking which is one of our virtues one leg moves forward as one leg moves back but there is harmony united by oneness, the forces are oneness -
what is virtue and how do we become virtuous?

Or the god or divine relationship is not an outside force separate from our being. -

Moving a thousand pounds with four ounces. This implies the factor of a living thing that is able to move under its own natural power in any direction at will. Control of movement means that if we choose to move in any direction we can stop that force at any moment without continuing in the same direction. Physical applications someone pushes with full intent of meeting resistance if the resistance is removed newtons laws apply. If someone pushes meets emptiness be on guard change angle, distance or timing. this is an intelligent force. -

Do birds wake up and say I am not going to fly today? It is a birds virtue to fly and necessary for survival. Spontaneous, uncontrived, true virtue does not try to be virtuous. When seeing one in harm without thinking of danger we will rescue. Do we know this person and why if not are we compelled to save another with no reward. Maybe a bad example, some think all acts are selfish. but those who overcome this mental defect have virtue and it is powered by the way. True virtue is expressed and manifested in countless ways. Virtue for the sake of self gets into the mud of morals preconditioned thoughts of being good or doing the right thing that can actually cause harm to those intended to be benefited by such actions. One will not act if it does not benefit self. The error is benifit, good, right, wrong, self, basic mental clutter. -

Please don't slam the door only use the amount of force necessary. O in motion we can not be pulled or pushed, when striking there is force in the opposite directions, when lifting there is a downward force. to move forward we push of the back leg. if forward is life and backward death these things can not be separated because they give birth to each other. Neutralizing force so it is uneffective. now if you go to push open the door and it just swings open that force will continue because of non resistance. but what if there is a state of balance that can not be interrupted I am thinking newton was concerned with inanimate objects and not a master of movement that can apply and transcend Newtons law. I am always neutralizing newton's laws but maybe it is part of his equations. -
To me natural government is based on family. dad, mom, brothers, sisters and if you are the youngest you know the pecking order very quickly. Internal government is about who is leading is it the ego or the spirit. Politics is a lower level understanding of the world based on conflict and separation. Separation is key because it is also the bases for western medicine not treating the whole organism. Politicly not serving all of humanity and why we have special interest groups that need lobbyist to pass laws for a finite group. The great sages have left many tools for proper government of the people but the people are all of humanity so we fail.

More closely related to Martial Grand Circulation is the practicing of the Four Gates Breathing. It is the practice of leading of Qi with each breath and it is a traditional martial arts technique. In Four Gates Breathing, first inhale deeply, then exhale while imagining that you are pushing a heavy object with your hands and pressing your heels through the floor. It is important to stay physically relaxed. This causes Qi to flow through your arms and legs, but it won't consume the energy the way tensed muscles do. Continued practice will build up your nerves' sensitivity, and eventually this technique should create an electric, tingling sensation through your limbs. It is possible to accomplish this without breathing, but using breathing to lead Qi makes this process much easier. There is no traditional systems that divorces the breath from movement and stillness. At higher levels mind and body rest on each other. If the breath is rough use the mind to correct. If the mind is scattered then use attention to breath to correct. Sun Do is a legitimate school from Korea Most would like to have a national identity as in being not from China. Same with Akido when the founder was taught Ba Gua in China. It works out that for the nation Akido is only a Japanese art in origin.

Thank you to the mods for taking out the garbage and giving us something to eat.

It is clear now, that the mind is very important in leading the Qi. It is also clear that the Qi used for circulation will come from the lower Dantian, as this is the battery of the whole body. But what is the path you lead the energy through? It is the same as driving the car. Without knowing the destination, you will circle around and waste gasoline. In Martial Grand Circulation, the destination is where you need the energy to manifest power. For example, when you are striking, you need to bring the Qi to your arms and hands. But how do we get there from the lower Dantian? Place your mind into your center, and lead the Qi out of the real Dantian, past the Yinjiao cavity, down to the Huyin cavity, then up to the Mingmen. At the same time, open up the Mingmen and lead more Qi out from the real Dantian. Both energy streams will combine and you lead them up to the Shenzhu and Dazhui. From there, you lead it out to the palms and 6 inches further, beyond the physical body. This ensures that the Qi will be lead through the whole arm and it will give your strike more penetrating power. This is the path for the upper half of the body. For the lower half lead the Qi out of the real lower Dantian and push it downwards through the Yongquan (湧泉) cavity into the ground. If the Qi is not needed to energize the leg muscles for strikes, it will give the practitioner a stronger root which is essential to get more power.

Mopai credits the highest achievement of level 72 to Chang San Feng from Wudang Mountain. This is my linage and I never heard of mopai until joining this forum. So when a system rides the back draft of a well respected and thousands of years tested tradition I lose respect for the imitators. Mopai students do progress we just need to look close at bank statements, billing, expenses and stuff like that. I am not sure but people may be able to make money like herbalife or something by selling books and stuff, correct me if I am wrong.

Lots of videos of people lighting paper on fire with their bare hands but they show how it it is done. Traditional systems teach more pie techniques but it is considered the basics. Only when we take basic skills and make a lot of claims about them does one become knocked off the way. The exact claims or SUPER effects from more pie are traditionally to be discarded to avoid feeding an ego in search of being so POWERFUL and all that garbage that gets in the WAY.

To obtain immortality one is alive, always alive, transformation and losing the body is still being alive. Reincarnation one is dead I have never been dead so it would be hard for me to speculate about it. The Taoist say if you want to know the end go back to the beginning. Immortality is not living in the same body throughout all "time" because that would suck. There is no coming or going. When we get this body it does not mean we left something. The "it" is always present with or without a body. Everyone knows where they came from because if you ask them they say I do not know. So that means we came from the unknown. There is nothing to know about death and not even important at this particular moment.

The only thing powerful enough to clean up this mess is sunshine, lots and lots of sunshine. By sunshine I mean light, the light that does not get brighter or darker, weaker or stronger, this light can not be stronger or weaker this light will illuminate the darkness and the darkness will follow this light and be beneficial to all things

The Victim: The Victim's stance is "Poor me!" The Victim feels victimized, oppressed, helpless, hopeless, powerless, ashamed, and seems unable to make decisions, solve problems, take pleasure in life, or achieve insight. The Victim, if not being persecuted, will seek out a Persecutor and also a Rescuer who will save the day but also perpetuate the Victim's negative feelings. The Rescuer: Karpman drama triangle The rescuer's line is "Let me help you." A classic enabler, the Rescuer feels guilty if he/she doesn't go to the rescue. Yet his/her rescuing has negative effects: It keeps the Victim dependent and gives the Victim permission to fail. The rewards derived from this rescue role are that the focus is taken off of the rescuer. When he/she focuses their energy on someone else, it enables them to ignore their own anxiety and issues. This rescue role is also very pivotal, because their actual primary interest is really an avoidance of their own problems disguised as concern for the victim’s needs. The Persecutor: The Persecutor insists, "It's all your fault." The Persecutor is controlling, blaming, critical, oppressive, angry, authoritative, superior

Reincarnation is a buddhist term based on speculation of being reborn after you die. Immortality is the Taoist term for what we are now as we are living. We are mortal when we see beginnings and ends, birth and death and speculate about it.

Is it possible to use AC or DC electricity to give us Chi energy?
Wu Ming Jen replied to daomon's topic in Daoist Discussion
We produce multiple fields of electrical, vibrational energy on earth that can impact the bioelectrical human systems in a negative or at least a distracting way. When we literally unplug we feel the difference of not being bombarded with these energies. . I have had the method of acupuncture that uses small electrical currents clipped to two needles. It was effective to treat pain. Chi encopasses all things and not limted to self. Chi unites us to all that is. Sometimes chi wants to rock out to AC DC with laser lights, fog, super loud with all your party friends and spend some chi together. Mostly Chi prefers tranquility so it can grow. -
I wouldn't worry about the language barrier most of my training is wordless being a physical thing being taught and all. If your Sifu needs to give you words besides using the international language he will find the way to do so. I think it is great you found an awesome teacher and want to do well.Knowing is doing and doing is knowing keep up the Gung Fu!!!!

The role of Dragons in Internal Arts (Neijia)
Wu Ming Jen replied to dwai's topic in Daoist Discussion
Forward / advance red, fire, backward / retreat blue, water, left green, wood, right white, metal, center yellow, earth. Chinese dragon forms are awesome low ground work and leaving the ground mentioned opening and closing in the movements that is a great accomplishment internal condensing then opening all the joints to expand, awesome. -
Nice Marblehead, Joseph Campbell from his book the power of myth. Fun stuff looking for the golden thread that runs through all traditions. There is a part in the book where he uses the lens of eastern traditions and applies it to other "stories" from around the world. Lao Tzu is the only one to have ultimate reality and ultimate source as one and the same. Tao rules

Using Taoism to understand a christian belief....So Mother Mary has a baby without having intercourse so this means that yin and yang reconciled their differences within Mary's body and gave birth to a higher self or it was a test tube baby or gods have sex with mortals all the time or aliens did it or it is not meant to be a literal message of a virgin birth without intercourse. OK then there is a snake and an apple or pomegranate and a dumb blond with a belly button who eats it after been told not to. What if the snake represents life, sheds its skin and changes. What would the apple represent? Why does Eve have a belly button? Why is there an authority figure telling Eve what to do? We all still live in the garden of Eden that is obvious and not up for debate.

In the book balance and harmony the sword of wisdom is a recipe with all ingredients needed to transform a mortal back to a divine human. Knowing what the key words are referring to is necessary to break the code "The Sword of Wisdom" Ever since adepts handed on the secret of the sword, The true imperative has been upheld Completely, truly adamant. If someone asks me about Looking for its origin, I say it is not ordinary iron. This lump of iron Comes from receptive stillness; When you obtain it, it rises up. Forging it in a glowing fire, Through repeated efforts It is refined and forged into steel. When students of the Tao Know this secret, The spirit of light is intensely powerful, And devils of darkness vanish. The subtle function of spiritual work Is truly hard to measure; I now give an explanation for you. In telling you about it, I divulge the celestial mechanism. Setting to work when one yang comes back, First have the six yangs pump the furnace bellows; Then the six yins work the tongs and hammer. When the work of firing is complete, it produces the sword; When it is first done, It flashes like lightening. Brandish it horizontally and a cold clear breeze arises; Hold it upright, and the shining bright moon appears. When the bright moon appears, Auspicious light illumines heaven and earth; Sprites and ghosts are distressed. It stops turbidity, brings out clarity, Sweeps away weird defilement's; It slays volatility, cuts down aggressiveness, Destroys monsters: Influences draining away Vitality, energy and spirit All vanish in the light of the sword. Entanglements cut off, rumination dies down, And the web of feelings is rent asunder. Where the spiritual edge is aimed, mountains crumble; The demon kings of mundane planes are all routed. This precious sword fundamentally has no form; The name is set up because it has spiritual effect. Learning the Tao and practicing reality Depend on this sword; Without this sword, the Tao cannot be achieved. Opening up the vast darkness, distinguishing heaven and earth, Dissolving obstructions, transmuting objects - All is included. If you ask me to show it to you, I bring it out before you-
