Does the order what leg is over another leg matter in Full Lotus regarding the Energie Flow?
Wu Ming Jen replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
Lotus or crane for sitting, the main reason why is because it slows down blood flow in the main blood vessels in the legs by pressure of the feet on the main arteries in lotus or compression in crane. This forces blood threw the micro circulatory blood system which is good for health and longevity. It can be compared to damming the main rivers and forcing blood to fill up the tiny streams. Sitting meditation with leg compression enhances energy flow of the micro cosmic circuit,. when standing the grand heavenly or macro cosmic circuit is on line. Some martial art schools do not expose the crotch for sitting meditation and it is considered rude behavior.(old school) -
I find it funny as well because I witnessed it happen. The person asking the question was frustrated in a funny way trying to ask the question over and over and getting the same result (the arms swinging around) I showed someone the pictograph for Tao that did not speak english and like charades proceeded to walk down a path following their head. Having a good time and being a good person is more important than all the words ever written.

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat. Pink Floyd rules, BTW which ones Pink? And to all you meat eaters and vegetarians, keep up the good work.I will have a couple mouthfuls of air to help wash that down. -
Wade giles or pinyin, harvard has a spelling more like it sounds in chinese. "DOW" in chinese is the broad sword so if you ask chinese about dao they might swing their arms around like sword play. When I travel in china pronunciation of words can change with each region. D and T have the same tongue movement

I don't have to know who I am, I choose who I am
Wu Ming Jen replied to Everything's topic in General Discussion
I like the title of the thread, for one not to be defined by a society separated by imaginary political borders of country or states, to be free to be round or square at will and the notion of growth and change. Realization never ends, the work is never complete, there is a sky above the sky, meaning once we reach one level of awareness there is another to explore.Immortality is like water it can be ice or liquid, immortal one minute mortal the next, stabilizing, keeping the furnace of attention always true is the never ending practice. Self creates separation from all that is, with no self there is no other, merge all back into one. This one creates two we call it two but we must remember it is in this case just two sides of one. Only human mind and self separates the ten thousand things as not being one. I am you and you are me -

Tai Cheng infomercial, 2013: Cheez Whiz or what?
Wu Ming Jen replied to zen-bear's topic in General Discussion
I am all about honorable intentions. Proper body mechanics, alignment, moving the empty foot to change direction, advance or retreat then placing weight on that foot, heel to toe forward, toe to heel backwards, all good for the knees. Overextend (knees beyond toes) and easily pulled off balance, underextended, easily pushed off balance, proper posture difficult to push or pull. The martial aspect are crucial to understanding even if the student has no interest in martial arts they can still learn why they are moving their bodies around. It is incredibly valuable to students to have knowledge of dealing with force without meeting it head on and gain the superior position. These skills translate to everyday life and how students become in harmony with all things. Physical aspects and in the case of Tai Chang poorly done and harmful is a only one aspect of Tai Chi Chuan- 25 replies

Getting punched in the gut...
Wu Ming Jen replied to CrunchyChocolate555's topic in General Discussion
Tap your gut with your fingers with force while exhaling then tap with force as you inhale. feel the difference? With inhale the air is not being forced back in when your stomach is being punched /pushed inward. Exhale the belly is expanding when you are emitting force like blowing up a balloon. Taking a strike reverse method. The punch will not take your breath away if you inhale. Swallow energy, inhale, absorb, redirect.Present a target and take it away. Show your opponent an illusion to base their strikes on. suddenly disappear, suddenly appear. -
Getting punched in the gut...
Wu Ming Jen replied to CrunchyChocolate555's topic in General Discussion
Imagine swallowing the energy of the blow, Inhale withdraw the stomach slight tension but more like ward off energy (be prepared for the strike) with the correct timing there will be a load sound of contact but you are retreating, the sound is the first touch then nothing is there to be hit, withdraw backwards you do not even have to move your feet with correct bow and arrow stance (start with all your weight on the front foot). Horse stance is weak for absorbing energy moving toward you straight on, Horse is strong right and left not front or back. If you do not like the class end it and let people think what they think, be true to your self. -
How many people practice Taoism to gain supernatural powers?
Wu Ming Jen replied to idiot_stimpy's topic in Daoist Discussion
Intention is power, how your intentions manifest in life is the proof. If your intention is for super natural powers one has already left the path. If you crave or strive to accomplish something you have left the path. If one acts natural with out preconceived ideas some thing great comes to you. This something is not supernatural, that is a preconceived idea about something. -
Tai Cheng infomercial, 2013: Cheez Whiz or what?
Wu Ming Jen replied to zen-bear's topic in General Discussion
Cheez Wiz! Intention to make profit riding on an authentic and valued name in this case of Tai Chi Chuan. Marketing to those who have no prior knowledge. NO authentic linage qualifications or has permission to teach an authentic form of Tai Chi Chuan. Make up a name like Tai Cheng and this is all OK? System stripped of the martial components. My list can go on- 25 replies

Possible cardio exercises in a meditative lifestyle, what do You do?
Wu Ming Jen replied to 4bsolute's topic in General Discussion
Climbing the steps on the mountain is great cardio the 72 peaks are dangerous certain death with any misstep but the stairs up 6000 ft peaks is amazing. Meditation ,slow moving forms, Chi gung, kung fu sets that are very demanding physically, 900 kicks up and down the courtyard among other things is a normal day, makes the steps feel easy. when walking more than 7000 stairs to get to golden peak walkin diagonal and zig zag helps switch up the leg muscles being worked but then try carrying bags of rice tied off to a shoulder stick. Taoist are not all vegetarian unless its a personal choice like it being hot summer weather and your not very hungry. Diet changes due to external weather and internal condition of the body. The diet is too complex compared to the built in failure of western diet fads because diet changes all the time. If it is warm eat cooling foods, if it is cold eat warming foods. if its warm and you have dampness eat warming foods, if it is cold and you have internal heat eat cooling foods, talk about constant contradictions. Diet would take up pages and internal awareness of ones own intelligent body. -
Desire will bring all of its friends to your party, it seems you know many of them by name already ,hurt, offguard, hate, torture, tease, powerless, entangled, tormented, pulled, deserve(something?),suffering, pain. Thats a lot of negative energy, there is no rescue from craving and desire, YOU must stand up and eliminate craving. Identify with the YOU that can overcome craving. The illusion of self is the self that creates the problems in life in the first place. Be responsible of your thoughts and your actions then you have purpose and always know who you are. There is only a question of who you are when you are not responsible for your thoughts and actions. The host becomes the guest and the guest becomes the host, turn this around.Once the internal government is set in order, all ailments disappear.

Supernormal Powers from Internal arts?
Wu Ming Jen replied to Wun Yuen Gong's topic in General Discussion
Being normal is a super power. When we live with balance and harmony with all things, stop violence within ourselves and handle violent behavior with ease our skill is high. The simple awareness of Chi is a skill, most are stuck within a material world. I make no claims of anything but ordinary, mundane things, I call these things spiritual, seeing that which has no form in that which has form a supernormal power. Others may think the ordinary is not spiritual and chase after altered states. I like the term supernormal BTW. -
Kong jin, spiral jin, rubbing jin, filing jin, lifting jin, lightness jin, weighted jin, pressing jin, cavity strike jin, wave jin, misplacing bone jin, tendon seizing jin, condensing jin, expanding jin, plucking jin and so many more manifested energies used martially. Why in the world would we ever select one form of jin. With so many tools why would we try to build a house with a just a screw driver. So many people go after the miracle diet or the miracle food like one thing out of the whole world is the key or the best thing for everything. Kong jin is one tool, to say it is the highest form is like saying water is better than fire To have any proficiency or use martially it must be paired with its opposite or it is incomplete. Ward off is completed by rollback or visa versa. So my spin on kong jin is an energy manifested in any form without touching someone, we all do it every day, train this ability, the intention of mind leading energy created by our own vitality (the base needs to be strong first) will get dence like demi physical. We pass our emotions to other people because they are a dense concentrated energy that is transferable to others. Anyone who promotes Kong Jin as exclusive and the highest form of manifested energy are lost or have amnesia of all the other tools used. What is the intention, how "WILL" this energy affect another living person. Empty force means it can be manifested in limitless ways, use it to not have a fight ever develop. Use it to stop violence and not promote it. Stop violence in ourselves and handle violent behavior with ease. Good luck with training

Topic derail; Free Taoist thunder magic information
Wu Ming Jen replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in Daoist Discussion
When it comes to religious application of Taoism the fairy tale characters in stories / gods are usually symbolic to internal .alchemy.like the three pure ones being vitality, energy and spirit, the three treasure we are all born with. Theses powers are in all of us and not power from an outside agency of authority. Within the religious realm these gods have duties just as the 4 seasons regulate each other. The gods are put in charge so to speak of the natural world and act as regulators and protectors of the world (positive and negative). Non religious deities tend to be actual people who inspire us to their level of awareness / immortality. -
Topic derail; Free Taoist thunder magic information
Wu Ming Jen replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in Daoist Discussion
I have been to the Thunder Gods cave on Mt Wudang. It has a great energetic and also connected energetically to Cheng San Fengs cave. Please understand deities that actual lived and deities that have a duty / a job that are not real but symbolic in nature. According to the history, Thunder God Hole, built in Ming Dynasty, was the place of Zhang-Shouqing, a famous Wudang Mountain Taoist, to exercise Qingwei Law of Thunder and to pray for rain. (real person) Thunder God Hole is the only place to worship Thunder God, also named God Deng. In the stone hall, there is a statue of Thunder God, the biggest in Wudang Mountain, which has a bird face in a man body, a glede mouth, two snipe eyes, two man feet, and ten glede toes, which exhibited the graceful bearing of Thunder God of China in 15th century. (not the look of the real person and related to different duties) The belief of Thunder God has derived from ancient people's subconscious adoration to thunder and lightning. Taoism believes that the thunderclap can stand for Heaven, "It is in change of living beings and humans, can bring you fortune and misfortune." So in Wudang Mountain, there are many celestial beings having different expressions on their faces, holding their own tools that show their different duties. Use a light when entering the back of the cave because.... Behind the Hole, there is a natural spring, streaming all the year, cool in summer, warm in winter and having a sweet taste, so is also called Supernatural Spring. There are many twisted roads and byways within the huge umbrella of Taoism. Recently books claim their methods are Taoist with apparent proof dating from antiquity. In reality many of the methods if even "authentic" would not be taught to people without personally knowing them and is never a primary concern in training. That being said my own personal experience with celestial beings would not be helpful and even an obstacle to others, such matters should not be written for the general public to reflect a thousand moons. -
A simple question on the human soul
Wu Ming Jen replied to Lindelani Mnisi's topic in General Discussion
Human soul looks like Barry White. Sometimes Soul looks like James Brown,so human soul looks just like music. Just like music sometimes a major, sometimes a minor, sometimes a dissonant note, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes upbeat, sometimes dark, sad and lonely. There is a lot of soul in this world all dancing on the clouds of the ever changing. My lower soul looked forward to death, my higher soul loved life so I introduced them to each other and found out they were madly in love with each other. When yin and yang reconciled their differences within myself they gave birth to my true spirit that is beyond yin and yang, and I merged with open space, beyond all boundaries. Then I came back to play in this world, to come and go as I please. -
Heading north and heading south. When we head south we turn our back on the north. When we head north we turn our back on the south. What does this have to do with dying, lets say life is positive and death is negative in a very conditioned way of thinking. Few are brave enough to turn around and head back into the gate of life. We need to make room for birth and give up this temporary body called death.Birth and death are fused together. Only the weak will challenge natures process and complain no matter what challenges we may face in the process. When we are no longer separate from the process there is great peace and freedom involved and we have the strength to meet all things in life. When we have this strength death will run away scared of having no power over us.Fear is fearful of something now that is amazing power not for just mere mortals.

Vibration, heavy or light, that I can "see"
-
As long as you can not see it with your eyes> that is the only point I would like to make clear. I seek nothing and have no cravings or needs in this matter.
-
Oh you're thinking of light that is seen with human eyes and the spectrums not seen. I am asking about a different light that chi is related to, what is that color?
